Large and bustling, this transit center offers bus rides to and from most areas in Seattle , Shoreline and more. Very little is offered by way of seating, covered space under which to hide from the elements (sides are all open so any light wind will bring the elements to you), and streets must be crossed in order to get anywhere off of TC Island, unless, of course, you plan to just hop on to another bus. Close-ish, proximity-wise, to Northgate Mall, but still a bit of a walk (maybe 5-10 minutes depending on your speed, traffic and the weather) to the mall entrances. The Northgate Transit Center is conveniently located just off I-5 and is across the street from Northgate Mall. In addition, there are numerous parking lots that riders can utilize for their commutes. Most of the routes located here are to and from downtown Seattle. Though there are a few that head further north. Route 41 is great because it has nonstop service to and from downtown making for a faster commute. There are also a few buses that go to nearby neighborhoods like Ballard, Green Lake, Wallingford and the U-District. Though you are better off taking a different route to those places if you are travelling from downtown rather than getting to Northgate and changing buses. The transit center is just okay. It seems clean enough, though not pristine. Though I don't know how I would feel waiting here at night. If you live on the north end, this should be your spot in commuting to and from downtown. read more

The Transit center is the gateway to downtown Seattle and Northgate as well as the park and ride free lots. The #41 route is like the Rapid Ride to Rapid Ride C and E line throughout Aurora. read more

This transit center makes riding the bus so easy and convenient! There are plenty of parking spots and lots around for those who commute. There's even a small coffee shop in the middle of the transit center for those who are interested. It's in a very great location too, next to the mall and movie theater. I usually feel really safe in this area too despite what people might think about North Seattle. read more

I used to come here a lot. This is a super convenient transit center. Getting to Northgate Mall is easy from downtown or UW area. Buses run pretty late on weekdays. It is also right next to the movie theater. read more

Dozens of buses go in and out of this depot daily. It's easy to use and find your bus or transfer bus. This super bus depot has a massive parking lot with a lot of spaces for carpoolers. There are restrooms that are in pretty decent shape for public facilities. Onward and busward! read more

The nice thing about the transit center is that it is located right off the freeway. Commuters like myself can get downtown quickly from here. My preferred routes are the 41 and 303. Parking goes quickly, which is one of the reasons I like working early. If you get there too late, as some have mentioned, you have to park across the street at the mall or on the street, if there are still spaces available. It's nice that there is a bathroom. DO NOT USE IT! It is dirty and truly a wasted opportunity. As the bathroom is dirty, I actually find the rest of the transit center well cared for, clean, and up to par. As others have mentioned, there is a snack stand there. I don't buy things there often. This is a good transit center but I'm not seeing anything that warrants more than 3 stars here. read more

Clean, with plenty of parking (funny how that works, it being a park and ride and all...). I liked the looks of the little snack center, although I didn't stop to buy any provisions. Seemed to be an awfully large concentration of high school folks, but it's right next to the mall (and the new movie theater), so that's to be expected. I just moved closer to Northgate, and I had been mourning the loss of my commuter bus line until I tried hopping on the 41. I'm sold. Huzzah for the successes in public transit! ### read more

It's a transit center. It's not the most exciting place in the world to visit unless you're catching a bus that goes through it. But it's a surprisingly pretty transit center, especially if you see it at night, from a distance. If you don't get there first thing in the morning, parking can be difficult to find, but there are two garages nearby as well as the surface lot. read more

This was perfect for what we needed it to be. We were 3 couples staying in Woodinville and wanted to spend a day in Seattle before heading east. The 12 passenger van we rented would not be easy to park in the city, so we parked here and ended up Ubering into town ( bus was our original thought, but wasn't much more to Uber) read more

The northgate transit center is one of the main north seattle hubs connecting the U district, Lake City, downtown, north city, shoreline, richmond beach, greenwood, aurora village and northgate neighborhoods. They even have a great snack stand open during the morning hours with a huge selection. Im very excited that the light rail is going to be extended to this transit center in the upcoming years. read more

Best P & R in the WORLD!!! Although if you work first shift (8-5ish), you need to be there by 7:30 or you'll have to park in the gargage. Which isn't bad, but I'm lazy. Do the P & R. You save a bunch of money and there's no stress getting to and from work! Oh and mother earth appreciates it. I'm no tree hugger, but I dig plant Earth. P & R - it's the right thing to do! This transit center is pretty much the gateway to Seattle for folks on the north end. It is located right across the street from both the Northgate Mall and Thornton Place shopping centers and buses that stop here will take you pretty much anywhere you might want to go within the King County Metro area. There are multiple bays which are all clearly marked by signs showing which buses stop at each one. There is also an Orca card kiosk for those who either need to pick one up or add more money to one they already have. You will find parking in abundance here although I'm rarely here during the busy commute times so I don't know how full it gets during the week. read more

As far as Seattle public transportation is concerned, this is by far the best transit center I've been too. The parking lot is plentiful and spacious, the transit center, itself, seems clean and well-maintained, and they even have an espresso stand. read more

There was virtually no parking left in either the main lot or the parking garage at 830 this morning. I understand that park and ride lots are crowded on weekdays, but additional parking is needed. Perhaps another floor or two of the overflow garage could be dedicated to this? After searching fruitlessly for a parking spot, I gave up and drove to work instead. Booo. read more

The transit center is not enclosed, really, so you'll be at the mercy of the wind. But it is mostly covered from the rain. There is usually plenty of parking to be found - I like to park here and hop a bus whenever I go downtown, instead of dealing with the nonsense that is downtown parking. The bus routes are pretty convenient for getting to a variety of locations in north Seattle/Downtown and are usually mostly on time.The little coffee shop here has some good coffee and pastry snacks too. read more

This is one of the best park and rides I've used in the Seattle area. The place is always very clean and there are so many buses you can catch from it. The parking spots in the upper and lower lots can be a little tight but there's plenty of overflow parking with much larger spaces so if you drive a larger car think about giving yourself a few extra minutes to park further away. This will save you from the dreaded door dings that seem to occur at all park and rides. read more

The station features an open outdoor design while still protecting overhead from Seattle's inevitable rainy weather. There's a huge mall, and a bunch of cute smaller shops nearby - to utilize in between quick trips to just about anywhere in Seattle and quite a few beyond. read more

Imagine, if you will, a city where you want to go somewhere on public transportation and you can! For me, the Northgate Park and Ride is a glimpse of the future Seattle may someday enjoy. A beacon of hope in Seattle's hit-or-miss transportation system! For some strange transportation planning reason, the bus that goes door to door from my house to work downtown is likely to take 1 1/4 hours. A quick scoot over to the Park and Ride and it's only 15 minutes on that handy 41. You show up at the bus stop and a bus is likely to arrive within 5 minutes! And you can buy a newspaper. Or a snack. Granted, the parking fills right up and the services aren't open late. But still, under the circumstances, the transit center rocks. Someday, maybe it will be fully functioning and I will be able to ride the tram there and then get a coffee and a bagel for my connection downtown. Come on Seattle, you know you want this!! read more
