I recently purchased a 2013 Toyota and due to the age of the vehicle, needed to have the stereo head unit (and backup camera) replaced (service requested); they were out of updates from Toyota. We went in to make an appt, and I was surprised to see not only a vacation-style vibe decor, but also a comfy waiting area- which we didn't end up needing. The staff were friendly, very knowledgable, and had multiple options at different price points. We chose the best one for us, got a price, and came back on appt day. The service was completed in a few hours, right on schedule, and the price they quoted was correct in the end. Additionally, the staffer who returned our key took the time to sit in the car with me (it's my vehicle to drive but my husband is the one who knows the technical stuff) and show me how all the new features worked, and answer all my questions. I am so happy with the new stereo & backup camera, the price, the service and the quality if the work. I had this done a month ago, and everything is working flawlessly. Do Not Come Here. Worst quality ever. They put the wrong tint (too dark and illegal) put the sun visor on too big (illegal). Broke some plastics bits putting the tint on, had to come back a week later to get it replaced. Please save yourself time and money and don't go to Sound Innovations in LK. read more

I bought my car stereo a little over TWO years ago from Sound Innovations. The experience and customer service at that time was amazing from start to finish. Obviously it is no longer under warranty. I started having problems with it about a month ago and finally it just died and would not boot back up anymore. I called Sound Innovations and they set up an appointment to troubleshoot the problem. I figured I would probably have to replace it. They took the dash apart and found the problem was with the ignition wire on the steering wheel control unit, which I also had installed when I originally bought this stereo. They fixed the problem and when I asked what I owed, they said NADA, NOTHING. Again, AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sound Innovations for their customer service, honesty, and quality workmanship. I hope they are around for a long, long time and I hope to deal with them again in the future. Whoa. Stay away. Where to start? My car didn't have a means to connect phone or mp3 for music so I contacted them to see about getting an auxiliary input/port installed. I gave them the specs for my vehicle and they said it was definitely something they could do, ordered the part, and I went in a few days later for installation. I paid nearly $200 if memory serves me correctly. I came out expecting to have some sort of port in the console where I could plug in an auxiliary cord. Instead, the cord was already there, and left shoddily protruding from somewhere behind the console. I thought, "okay, whatever. At least it's done. It looks like crap, but serves its function." Since then, I've had to go back FIVE times (in less than a year that I've had it, or thereabout) because it has stopped working (3 of the times, the stereo stopped registering the auxiliary tab as an option). An extra 5 hours of working around lunch breaks or leaving work slightly early to get in before they close. For a while, you could also hear the radio playing (static, mostly) while listening to music through your mp3 player, too. And, even with the sound up severely on my radio and on my phone or iPod, whichever, it was a struggle to even hear the sound. The 4th time I took it in, they were supposed to replace "the part" but instead just replaced the auxiliary cord. When I called because it stopped working the other day (5th time), he tried to blame me for the box not being replaced telling me I hadn't brought my car back in. Actually, I brought the car back in after they received the part they were supposed to switch out and the guy working when I'd arrived said all that needed done was a new auxiliary cord put in. So, yesterday, when I took it in for the FIFTH time and they replaced the part, I asked for a partial refund for all of the time and inconvenience for a faulty service, and he said he didn't "feel comfortable" doing that now that the part was replaced (said the part was incompatible with my car or something...they're the experts that are supposed to figure this out; don't blame the product. Blame yourself for not knowing the product.). I told him I wasn't asking for a partial refund because of the "part," per se, it was the fact that I bought a simple product and service for a decent sum of money and I've had to come back five times since then, not at a fault of mine. He still refused. (Can you imagine if you ordered a burger and the toppings were wrong and you returned FIVE times for them to get it right? At the 5th time, you should hope they'd comp the damn meal or at least be very apologetic and sincere and give you some sort of discount. Unless their goal is to drive customers away instead of accruing and retaining customers.) I should mention that when I called the other day and told him my car was having issues, he asked if it was "the Acura." My car is not an Acura, but that made me acutely aware that lots of folks are having this issue with them, for what should be a simple service. (By the way, he admitted he was out of town when I'd come back in the 4th time and he wasn't sure why the other guy just replaced auxiliary cord.) I want to promote and support local businesses, and if they were in ANY way apologetic and customer-centric, I'd not write this review, and I wouldn't have asked for a partial refund. But, the way they've conducted themselves this entire time is flooring to me. I have been kind the whole time, conveyed that I feel annoyed and want "this time to be the last" but had never been rude yet they have NEVER seemed apologetic. I later found out you could easily do what they did with a few dollars and a YouTube video, so you'd expect that for nearly a few hundred, the quality, service, or AT LEAST the customer service would better. read more
