I called to schedule an appointment and I knew what I wanted prior to calling, 5% ceramic. I was told "we can do that" so I made an appointment for the following Saturday. The day of the appointment, the individual behind the counter said "we do not have 5% ceramic film". I asked why the other person said they did, he implied that he could not tell who made my appointment. Then, AFTER I said I could just to somewhere else he all of sudden remembered they had some of this tint. First lie. Then he tried to convince me that it would look better to do 25% all the way around. I again, implies we would leave, then he again agreed to do what I requested. I showed up at 10am, the time of my appointment. I asked, "How long will it take" and he said "about an hour". We walked to Bass Pro and came back in an hour. He said they would be done in about 30 minutes. My wife went to the restroom and noticed they had NOT EVEN STARTED!!!! Third lie. It is now 12p, and they only have two windows done. I asked why it is taking so long and he blamed my car for being too new. It is a new 2-door Bronco, so windows are two door, two back, and one rear window. All flat and rectangular. Not a hard job. Any other place would have knocked it out in an hour. He said they had to take their time to do it right. Two others came and went after us and they both had appointments after ours. They close and noon and our car wasn't done till 1p. Three total hours for an hour job. I would not recommend this place to anyone due to the lies and callous customer service. Paying for a premium job you expect better customer interaction. They act like it is a burden to answer questions and they lie without hesitation. read more

Fast and friendly service. I had an appointment for 11:30am, walked out by 12:20pm. I agree with the previous reviewer that the waiting room does have an odd smell but it's not bad. A few magazines lying around and free WiFi. Its a tiny waiting area so leave your kids at home. The tinting came out great! Its under warranty too. I got the "standard" tinting for my ford focus hatchback for 37% all around with 29% heat reduction. I could have paid $40 more if I wanted 35% all around with 40% heat reduction. There's a cheaper version too. FYI, Kansas legal limit is 35% all around (except for the windshield). I think Missouri is 35% for front and any% for back. They tint residential and commercial buildings too. read more

I called around for some quotes to tint the Jeep. After receiving the quotes I did a little more research on the companies. With all the information, A-1 was the best choice for my needs. The guys working there are super nice and very professional. The work was top notch, looks great and like it was factory installed. The tinting comes with a warranty. They were able to quickly complete the tint job while I waited. The waiting area had a weird chemical smell. It was especially annoying as the cold is lingering on still. Kudos to the quick completion of the tint work so I didn't have to endure the smell to long. I would definintly recommend A-1 for car, residential, or commercial tinting needs. read more

You know, I had every intention of giving them a five star rating from the moment that I walked into the building and all the way through until the job was finished. I came in unannounced in the morning and someone else no-showed, so it was all mine. The guys up front were jovial and friendly as anyone could ask for and were good at reading people, as far as I could tell. The job finished and all was fantastic. Excellent tint work and as the brochure says, to wait it out and the lining cleared itself up. I purchased the top-of-the-line tint, all around and brow for my Mazdaspeed3 and it looked dynamite. Why did they miss a star? 2 reasons: 1. I'm a bit of a perfectionist in my own line of work. So when I notice that my brow is about 1/8th to 3/16ths off from the right to left side where they meet in the middle, it annoys me now every time I get into the car. It's noticeably not aligned (to me). Average joe or grocery getter wouldn't see it, probably, but it's in two pieces that don't come even. 2. And this really was sad, because it's just simple attention to detail and customer appreciation. When they set the brow, they didn't clean the inside of the windshield after applying the brow in place. So there were about a dozen water streaks from the brow to the dash all across the inside of the windshield. With this being said, I would recommend them. I already have, in fact. The work is quality and they're not shady like some of these tint places are about darker tints. read more

We had A-1 come to our home to apply the premium tint to our sliding glass door. Unfortunately, the seal on the door portion was lost during/after tinting. Needless to say that Hector stepped up with awesome customer service!!! He replaced the glass in the door portion and then followed that up with retinting of the window. A-1 Tint is the best!!!. In 19 years I have taken 6 cars to get tinted. The tint on my old '97 Civic still looks great. Hector and his staff are really friendly. The appointments are always on time. Outstanding company. Michael came to the house and did thorough measurements to provide a quotation (very reasonable) and then the work began two days later. I was comfortable with the two men that came to the house. They were friendly and professional and worked very efficiently. It took about 4 hours to remove the old film (20 years old) and then they reapplied the new product. Everything looked great and they did a nice job with the clean up. I would find somewhere else to go. I took my truck there today to get my windows tinted. I went to pick up my truck after work and the battery was dead because they left the dome light on all day. The dome light inside was still in the on position. I have a battery I bought in March, it's only June 4th and it was so dead the lights on my dash wouldn't even come one. I had plans tonight and it cost me an hour I didn't have to go get jumper cables and get it started. You should never have to worry about your truck starting because you got your windows tinted. I got my car done here a year or so ago. Off the top of my head, it didn't take horribly long, and I specifically remember everyone being super friendly. I'm not sure if I ever talked to the owner, but there was an older guy (well, older relative to the rest of the people working there) and he was SO friendly and helpful. Quite a few months ago the tint started rolling up on one of my windows, so I called and they told me to come in, it was no problem. It took about 30 minutes for them to fix, and meanwhile one of the guys that worked there started chatting with me from beyond their window. For reference, I am a 22 year old woman. He asked me about my summer, what I was doing that day, and then when another guy came through the main door he quickly stopped talking and disappeared into the back. Later, another guy brought my car around front and the guy that had talked to me earlier was giving me info on what they did, when I can roll my windows down again, etc. At the end of the conversation he asked me if I was single... I promptly told him I am not and thanked him again for the service, and went about my way. A few hours later I get a text message from the same guy telling me he had gotten my number from the files and that he knew I was seeing someone, but just wanted to see if I wanted to "talk." I told him no, I was really creeped out, and asked him to delete my number. This is in no way indicative of the quality of labor at A-1... my tint looks great and has kept my black leather interior car a lot cooler. And as I mentioned several times, everyone was really nice when I was there. I give 5 stars because of that. However, there might be a better system that doesn't allot for employees to snag numbers & horrendously violate people's privacy... I don't live in the area anymore, but it makes me pretty apprehensive to think about going back. read more

I can't understand all the perfect reviews. I took a new $22,000 SUV here to be tinted based on the reviews and it was terrible. I took it to two other shops who told me it was terrible and needed redone. I went and talked to Hector who seems like a great guy and he said it was bad and he would make it perfect when we got back from vacation. He did it yesterday and my wife picked it up. He told me on the phone it was like it was factory. He was super nice and apologized profusely. I didn't even look at it till tonight because I was sure it was perfect. It looks bad again. Many tiny bubbles and there is an optical flaw in one window only redoing it again will fix and dirt trapped under the tint. It is not aligned again on one or two windows. The new bigger issue is my headliner and carpet are stained with old glue I guess and there is a body odor smell. There is pieces of tint and glue everywhere (I cleaned some of it) and water streaks running down the interior and I haven't raised the rear seats to see if they are stained. The rubber around one window is all scarred up and it will not go away. I have pictures. read more
