I called Sound FX on 11-17-21 with hopes of getting information and pricing on having an Automatic starter installed in my husbands SUV as an early Christmas gift. I was so fortunate to get Kim (the owner) on the phone and she was amazing. Not only was she very pleasant to speak with but she was also very knowledgeable, down to earth and honest. As a woman, she made me feel completely comfortable and good about trusting them with this installation. I then scheduled my appointment for 12-4-21 and dropped the car off that morning at 10am. They were completely done by around 1pm and called us to let us know we can come to pick up the car. We arrived and the car was out front and ready to go, the person who did the installation came out and showed my husband how the starter works and answered any questions he had. Overall we had a great experience with Kim/Sounds FX and will definitely go back to them if work is needed on our vehicles in the future. I highly recommend them!!! read more

worst service of my life lady in the fromt crazy rude and keeps trying to ask for money than what I already payed had to ask them to had to ask them to take out the installation becausenit wasn't as loud as they advertised , they say they giving you a deal but reality they up charging you on parts. read more

These guys do it all - audio, video, lighting, bumpers, control switches, even winches! If you're looking for an install that looks like it came from the factory, these are the pros!! The main installer, Eddie, is the cleanest sound installer I've ever seen!!! This shop is not the cheapest in town, but I am a firm believer of "you get what you pay for". They not only do a great install, but they stand behind their work. I guarantee if you have Sound FX do your install you will not regret it! read more

Great customer service, quality work, and the owners are hilarious. I have no complaints.

Need any speaker work or electronics? This is the place. It would be a mistake to go anywhere else. From the second I walked in I felt welcomed to the shop. I had come in for a complete audio system from amp, sub and speakers, I explained that I didn't have much knowledge on speakers and before even installing or deciding on parts they took the time to educate me on the products I was looking to install. I plan on returning for many other mods! read more

The person on here that gave a one star review on here 3 years ago is dead wrong. I just purchased an amp/subwoofer and if loud enough you can hear my car 3 quarters of a mile down the road. They really did an amazing job installing my equipment. Kim, I have to say you're the most knowledgeable, personable human being that I've met. I'm glad I listened to you. No offense to you John!, but Kim you are the best! Kim I'm so glad I took your advice and went with what you suggested. I appreciate everyone from the Sound FX team. They've done an amazing job. Even though I almost blew out my own eardrums on the way home, but I'll be okay . Thank you Sound FX team! read more

This is the only place I trust with our cars. I am extremely meticulous/OCD and I have found SoundFX to be the same way... they did some clean and amazing work on our Jeep JKU Golden Eagle, and we look forward to our next project, 2017 Camaro. I highly recommend you stop here first. Great customer service and very professional about what they do. NO PUSHY SALES PEOPLE, just straight up honesty. read more

I had an Alpine ILX-207 installed by a local installer that will remain completely anonymous as they're the grim reaper of aftermarket harnesses and the bird's nest of butt splices and unconnected wires rendered my stereo to intermittently cut out, never have full functionality, and behind the dash looked like it was done by a 5 year old. Okay, that anonymous company is Automotive Audio LTD in Newburgh. But I digress. In an effort to have my issues corrected I found Sound FX in Harriman. I gave them a call, scheduled an appointment for the next day, and voilà, my whole life is better. They replaced the violated wiring harness, cleanly installed it with soldered joints and heat shrink, and while I was there I decided to upgrade the head unit to a Pioneer 7600NEX. All of this happened in about one hour. The technicians really knew their game, the owners were awesome and their inventory was well stocked. The harness looks like it came from the factory and the install was seamless. My only issue is now I want to replace the entire speaker and sub setup - but at least I know where I'll be taking it. Highly recommended, proficient staff and competitive pricing. read more

I am not sure why Yelp doesn't have many reviews on this place in the non recommended area there are a bunch of very good positive reviews. I recently went to this store as my my OEM radio continued to let me down and disappoint me. I met with Kim and John the owners who were not only very knowledgeable but very professional and friendly. They gave advice on what they thought would be best and I had done my homework before I came in and we were on the same page in minutes. They gave me a fair price.. hey what does that mean "fair price" it means a price that I am ok to pay for quality work that they will stand behind. They beat pricing I found online and in the area and didn't be some others. They were in the middle and their pricing seemed fair to me. The install is incredible it looks like it was factory installed. The sound is amazing and I have found a new friend in the car audio business. Great people and fair prices. As always you get what you pay for and I do t mind paying a little bit more to have my work done by professionals. Job well done Kim, John and staff. read more

Ok so returning to aftermarket systems after 20 years left me feeling very lost with today's technology. The owners/ employees of this shop did a wonderful job accommodating my needs to what was currently available. They are very honest business owners with an unshakeable grasp of customer satisfaction. The product selection is reasonable, but they stand behind each and every product they sell as well as the fantastic work they do. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get any aftermarket audio work done to their vehicle. read more

Stopped by a while ago waited almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged then the lady acted as if she was too busy took my name down and number and said they would call me. As I walked outside a guy who works there arrive so I asked the price for what I needed. He answered and I laughed and walked away. They are so over priced it's insane. You can drive down to the bronx and get actual custom work down for less and the folks in the bronx will beat any system they have put together guaranteed. I have seen their work and I'm not impressed. Looks like the folks writing these great reviews must be friends of theirs or poor fools who paid too much lmao. read more

What a terrific place . I had auto start put in my new 2021 sportage , great atmosphere, very professional. Highly recommend !!

I must say that these are the folks you want touching your car. John, Kim and their installers Eddie and Ed are absolutely fantastic!! The electrical work they performed on my truck rivals any factory installation and customer satisfaction seems to be their number one priority. Easygoing, overly friendly people that are so nice you'd invite them all over for coffee!! Don't go anywhere else for your vehicles audio/lighting needs, everything you would every want is done at Sound FX!!! Thanks again and you've gained a customer for life! read more

If you're into hooking up your ride this is the place to go! They've done more jobs for me than I can remember.

Well for starters they are very over priced and Kim is so unprofessional I went to there shop asking questions about a Remote starter all she said was that she had them in different prices and continue to talk on the phone I have After waiting 30 minutes she went outside will never go there again she obviously thought I was just some bum I was in my work clothes and just finish painting she should learn never judge is book by its cover I run a very successful business I would never ignore someone because of the way they were dressed read more

Definitely the best place for any kind of after-market work on your car including sound, video, radar detectors, blue tooth, GPS, security, etc. I have been going here for about ten years, originally in Central Valley and now in Harriman. They have installed speakers, satellite radio, LED running lights and other devices for me. Their work is always done in the most professional and craftsman like manner with perfect fit and finish on their installations. The owners, John and Kim, have a high level of knowledge of all their products and services and are happy to help customers with good advice. They are a much better choice than any big-box store. I highly recommend them. read more
