I love coming to SoulCycle because I feel good doing it. I'm by no means a professional, nor am I even close, but there's no judgment, and no one cares about all that. The instructors push you and get you through it. The music and the ambiance in the room moves you and helps you complete the journey. It is such a good workout, and by the end of it, you're exhausted and dripping with sweat, but you're also proud of yourself for doing it and getting it done. Been coming to location for about 1.5 years now and I absolutely love it. I come after work and the people are always very nice. I appreciate that it's a very clean studio and there are always bathroom necessities available. The parking could be really difficult if you come during the summer time when there are lawn concerts or events happening. They don't have a locker room but they are HALF THE PRICE and shoe rentals are free. Great instructors, music, easy parking and most importantly their customer service is excellent. I used ClassPass to check this place out. I attended the 6am ride for Turn-Up Tuesday ft. 90s hip hop! In case you're wondering... YES! The playlist was fiiire. It's actually what convinced me to sign up. First things first... Sierra and Oscar helped me out the morning of my ride. They were great, friendly and NOT overbearing. As in, they didn't hassle me to sign up for a membership after my ride was done. I really appreciated that. The ride itself... intense! I definitely didn't give 100% during the ride. I was too busy trying to move and pedal on beat. The clapping and upper body movements look cool, when you know how to do them. Lol! The instructor was high energy and so fast... I loved her vibe, especially at 6 in the morning. Clipping your shoes in takes a while if you've never done it before. Thankfully I got there in time to get situated. High recommended if you're a first time rider! Don't skip out on those 15 mins of buffer. It'll keep you calm before you begin. Overall, I'm giving 4/5 stars because the seats are uncomfy! I spent most of the time up in the air but whenever I wanted to recover, I hated sitting back even for a short while. I've done SoulCycle once before and enjoyed it! It's an awesome "spin" on spin class and MB is a great location! There was a promotion going on at work in partnership with SoulCycle, so I had to take part. Shoe rentals are $3 and don't forget to show up a bit early to get situated! The lockers are easy to use (and free) and the bathrooms are super clean. I love that they have a jar of hair ties because I am always forgetting mine at home. I took the class with Instructor Chevy - great music! I love the ambiance of the SoulCycle studios, really get to focus on yourself and what you're doing. Had my first ride today and I have to say it was awesome! Staff guided us to everything we needed to know and helped set up the bike. Instructor, Maxie, was upbeat and fun and gave clear instruction and tips. Class was super into the ride and it was cool to see everyone in sync. Took me a while to get my feet spinning properly but once I got the hang of it, it was pretty fun. Sweat was flowing like crazy. Worked a whole new set of muscles I didn't expect. Facilities are clean but small. When I first saw the men's locker room I was thinking it'd be really crowded but it seems that most people just go in, finish their workout, and then leave. There were only 2 showers and 1 toilet but everything was empty when our class ended. My only gripe is that when the class was done and we left the studio, my ears were ringing. The music is pretty loud which actually makes it fun, but I can imagine extended exposure to that volume may not be good for you. If I end up adding this to my routine, I may wear some earplugs. Price is comparable to other studios. I may get the beginners package to try and get my wife into something. We'll see. read more

This was my first cycling class. Honestly I was a bit confused at first because there was so many people packed in the front of the studio I couldn't tell if they were entering or leaving. Front desk person was nice and helped me change my seat to be with my friend. But it was when I entered the studio, there was 2 assistants at the door trying to help new people figure out the class. Me and my friend walked in, the girls just stared at us. And yelled THERES NO PHONES IN THE STUDIO. Not even a "Hi, welcome!" Or "Hi! Is this your first time?" We began to try to find our seat. We were having such a hard time finding and reading the number because it was so dark. I ended up sitting at the wrong bike, the assistant began getting mad at me because I was in the wrong seat, even though the class was half empty!!! She didn't even show me where my correct seat was, just said THIS ISNT YOUR SEAT, YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT SEAT in an aggressive tone. She pointed where my correct seat was. She came up to me and began giving me a tutorial on how to set up my bike and feet. But the way she was explaining it to me was soooo passive aggressive, inpatient, angry, and so unnecessary. She started getting irritated at me because I couldn't put my foot in the petal correctly. It totally threw my vibe off for the class. I couldn't focus and get into the workout because all I was thinking about was how rude she was to me. Will not be returning! read more

Overall a great location for the indoor cycling giant. Location: in The Point in El Segundo...despite being labeled as MNBH...on border. That said plenty of parking at The Point and pretty great shopping and food options there...but I digress. Check in: always friendly and helpful. My personal clip in shoes were getting loose and one of their front desk staff were nice enough not to just hand me a tool but actually reposition to ideal spot and tighten for me...great service guys. Locker room: standard great lockers with 4 digit combo lock and USB for phone charging in each. Soaps and shampoos supplied are awesome. Very clean and kept up well despite the high volume of people. Took my 10th SoulCycle class ever at the MNBH location this morning!! It was my first time riding here, and it definitely did not disappoint! LOOOVE THIS STUDIO!! This is the 4th one I've ridden at (others have been Berkeley, SF SoMa, and Walnut Creek), and this definitely felt the most spacious. The locker area doesn't feel as crowded when the previous class comes out and the next one starts coming in The class I took was with Alba, and I absolutely loved it!! So much energy and screaming and dancing and good music and wow. LITERALLY SO MUCH SCREAMING AHHHHHHH. But it's good. The energy fills the room and you REALLY start to feel it. I don't think I've ever felt the weights series as much as I did in this class........the 45 minutes really fly by!! General info: Classes are $30, shoe rental is $3, and they also sell Smartwater. They have a water fountain if you want to refill your water bottle. Your first ride is $20! They have lockers (you don't need to bring a lock), as well as a bunch of other stuff (showers, towels, hairbands, gum, bandaids, face wash, all that good stuff). You can use the SoulCycle app or website to reserve your bike (you reserve a specific bike), or you can walk in and see if they have spots available. (P.S. If you're a newcomer: THIS IS MORE THAN JUST RIDING A BIKE THAT DOESN'T MOVE!! Like 90% of the time you aren't even sitting on the bike tbh. BUT IT'S SO MUCH FUN!! It's like...a cult. The addiction comes so easily and quickly) Bottom line: Love this studio!! I've experienced other rhythm based cycle classes before so I knew what to expect. The instructor and class that I attended at this SoulCycle was Chevy on Sunday at 11:45am. Her music playlist was fantastic and definitely motivated me during the hills and sprints. However, I was expecting a bit of a bigger push. I felt like it was a good standard cycle class, but considering it being SoulCycle the instructor could have pushed the class a little harder. Either way I would still suggest Chevy for anyone new to SoulCycle and still wanting a harder class. Overall, the facility was amazing and I loved the various amenities in the bathroom. This review is really inspired by Chris P. Months ago I went on an "instructor tour" to try out different ones across LA and he really stood out to me. His style is more athletic, almost bootcamp (in a good way), which I love. You hear riders exclaim "SH*T!!" and "F*CK!!" throughout the class out of a mix of exasperation/exhilaration, the perfect combo of endorphins. Best part is his music...FIRE. Lots of hip hop and motivating beats. Chris rides with the group as much as he can and when he's not he still stays very active/involved. I trek from DTLA to this location when I can (tough if I go out the night before lol) to take his class. Just doubled with him last weekend and it was so worth it. read more

Soul cycle could very likely change your life...(and your booty) It's not just a workout, it's as much for your mind as for your body. Every class grabs you and makes you ride your bike like you are sugared up 9 year old... I don't know where they find these rock star instructors--but anyone that can keep iPhone addicted-ADD-left swiping- us in the moment for an hour and playing at top level is really talented. Some of them are pure MAGIC and you can leave transformed and ready to take on anything. If you can take a class with Chevy, Jackson, Chris P, Santron, and Alba--you will have a beyond amazing experience. But every instructor is unique, they have different music (more MODERN ALTERNATIVE ROCK would be so good!), different moves, different motivating stories-- so that you are never bored. I did 20 classes in October (which some days was 2 classes) and I felt really strong, which transfers over to everything in life. Soul Cycle is a fantastic workout, makes you feel incredible, gets you out of your head for an hour and into the moment, and is as fun as recess used to be. read more

I took a class here on Saturday for the first time in years and was really disappointed with the instruction I received (or lack there of). While the staff are very nice and helpful the instructor really seemed to be half-heartedly running the class. He barely coached us, was not enthusiastic and I didn't feel like I got an optimal workout like I used to feel when I'd go to SoulCycle. I think I could've gotten the same results if I just got on a stationary bike at the gym and would've saved $30. I mentioned my experience to a friend that goes there and she said that the weekend instructors tend to be that way. read more

The studio at this location is way more spacious or at least feels for spacious than the Santa Monica location. The employees are very nice and welcoming, even at 6 in the morning. The instructors are great and music selection is a plus. This place is right by my work so very convenient. For ladies, they have three shower stalls. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a shower. The layout of the restrooms is a little constricting so it gets a little crowded. My favorite instructors are Tash & Jillian. Tash is absolutely amazing for beginner riders or if it's your first time at SoulCycle. Her class goes at a reasonable pace that's not too intimidating and at the beginning of almost every class, she lets her riders know that if they need anything they can just holler. She's also one of the most soulful instructors I've had, which is a good representation of what SoulCycle is all about for new riders. Her class will make you feel welcome and wanting to come back! Jillian is FULL of energy and motivation. I recommend her for more advanced riders or if you've taken a few SoulCycle classes before. I'm a huge fan of the SoulCycle brand and I always make a point to squeeze in a SC class when I visit the cities where they have a presence. So, on a recent trip to Manhattan Beach, I was psyched to find out that the SoulCycle studio close by (which is actually in El Segundo, just outside of Manhattan Beach) is now open! I was able to convince my brother and his girlfriend to join me at Tina's class on Friday mid-morning. I talked up SoulCycle as I have high expectations due to the classes I've previously taken in San Francisco and New York. They are a guaranteed kick-ass workout and it's worth mentioning that I've always had really positive experiences with the staff, etc... as well. Sadly, my experience at this location was a bit underwhelming. While the locker rooms appeared clean, towels provided, and everything else physically similar to the other studios I've been to, the Sepulveda staff wasn't very friendly to me or my two guests (who had never taken SoulCycle classes before). We were told to fill out our paperwork and take a seat and found our own way to the lockers and the class after that. Someone did help us upon request with bike set-up, but again, just not the same super positive, friendly experience as I've had before. And while Tina is entertaining and has great energy and dance moves, her music wasn't all that and we couldn't always understand what she was directing the class to do... it was almost as if she was mumbling. I'd absolutely give this studio another shot, but I'm hoping they work their kinks out before my next visit. read more

So this was my first time at SoulCycle. I've been very hesitant on trying this place since it is pricy but I had an opportunity to go for free so I was all over it!! They definitely know how to pack the peeps in and maximize every inch in the room but I think that adds to the energy of the class. I love the loud upbeat music and the instructors really make it quite an experience. I do like how they incorporate weights mid-class and it's really a total body workout. Check-in was fast, lockers were plentiful, shoes and towel service is awesome. I would consider taking another class of two but not on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong, it was a fun experience but Since I already have a great gym membership (that offers cycling) just a few blocks away, it's hard to justify. My absolute new favorite place here in South Bay! I went to try this place with my friend and honestly, I was dead after the class. I have to admit that cardio is not my best friend and I'm more a yoga girl... Nice and peaceful, right? But! As I started to come to this place regularly (twice a week) for a month. I definitely see the change everywhere. Now I feel that I can ride with ease and I know how to pace myself. Helpful tips to a new rider.... 1. Reserve the bike that is in front of the instructor but 2nd or 3rd row. Because the music is so loud, sometimes you can't hear the teacher. So it would be helpful if you can see other people and copy their moves. 2. No need to bring your lock! You can set your combination for the locker. Very nice. If you forget the combo (which happens quite often), you can simply ask the front desk nicely, then they will help you. 3. Eat right before the class. (not right before though!) I usually eat a banana or half a packet of oatmeal. So you can have enough energy to ride for 45minutes :) read more

I have been wanting to try Soul Cycle since it opened in Los Angeles, as I love out door cycling and electronic music, and Soul Cycle conveniently provides both! The Soul Cycle at the new Point shopping center in Manhattan Beach fits in amongst fitness apparel shops and healthier food choices. Parking is plentiful, with preferential parking for Clean Air Vehicles (you lucky newer car people). Parking is also FREE. Despite the low energy of our beginner class, the instructor kept up his enthusiasm for the entire 45 minutes. I did my best to bounce to that beat (tap it back!), sometimes proving more difficult than other times as the class was tough enough for beginners to be somewhat challenged, but not impossible for us to keep up. It was fun! The facilities were spotless, with free disposable razors, cotton swabs, tampons, and lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner for the showers. There were only 3 showers, but I suppose that is enough for each class as long as people don't take way too long while showering. I come back here just to take albas class! Alba is one of my favorite instructors and is the reason why I always come. Other instructors are great but they never have the fans on which is a big bummer. I have been to this soul cycle location so many times and not once have I seen a fan on. I even asked one of girls if she could turn one on but never did. I hate when studios don't turn on fans to make it feel like your working more because your sweating but no one likes a hot steamy oven! This is not hot yoga ladies! Talk about hospitality!! *Friendly and helpful staff especially for new riders, they really go above and beyond. I checked in early for class and right away a staff member came out from behind the desk and set me up on the yellow bike outside so I knew what to expect for my class. Got a good feel for the bike, the resistance levels, and she explained the different hand positions used on the handlebars. She then toured me around the studio, which was so helpful in getting me acclimated to the "SoulCycle environment". The bathrooms were clean, white, modern, spacious and and filled with all the amenities one might need after class... including shower towels, body wash, shampoo/cond, blow dryers, q-tips, razors, shave foam, deodorant, lotion, even hair ties! So well organized and presented. Entering the the cycle room, I was super nervous, but it was dim lit, smelled clean and ahhh-mazing (their signature scent), with low-lit candles sat at the instructors platform. Total mood changer. Fresh hand towel was on my handlebars and the bike has 2 spaces for water bottles. The same staff member found me at my bike and made sure it was set up to my correct measurements. She switched out my weights for me ...3lbs are more my speed, and even brought me earplugs (yellow!) since I was concerned about how high the music volume would be. Also, noticed she helped out another gal that was confused about clicking in her shoes, super personal attention crouching down to help the rider. The instructor was well aware that more than half the class was new and gave us a short intro to SoulCycle and that they "ride to the beat" of the music." Music was definitely pumping everyone up, while the instructor was high energy, encouraging, even inspiring, and on point at calling out cues and choreography ahead of time! Riders push and dance in unison, so it's not hard to follow and draw from their focused efforts and energy. Sure my workout was intense, heart-racing, sweat drippin, a full body workout ...but you've got to experience "the experience" to fully understand how unique and amazing it is. The atmosphere the staff creates and the way they treat you at every point makes all the difference. Money well spent, rather skip drinks at the bar and bring my girls here for a revitalizing GNO! I got to take a class here at Soul Cycle for a special event this pass weekend, my only experience with spin classes are a few I've taken at 24 hours fitness & at a community center gym near where I work. The staff was great they were helpful & friendly. The class had a great tempo, Jeff did a good job getting us to pedal with the same flow & pace of the music as well as keeping the class motivated. For a 45 minute class the time seemed to fly by. It never felt like we were doing anything repetitive or anything too long to the point where it got boring. The classes here are definitely a few steps above the average gym spin class. My friend that's a member of Beat Bike came with me & she was also impressed with Soul Cycle. She wouldn't say Soul was better but she said they are top notch for sure. read more

I take a spin class every week, but it's nothing like this. I didn't know what to expect when the lights went dark. WTF? Is this a club? Will vampires suddenly appear and attack me? Is this some kinda freaky bike cult? So many questions, but the unity of the "pack" riding as one and the music makes you forget all about your silly questions that have no basis is reality. FYI for the newbies: For the classes/teachers that are in demand, reserve your bike early and be there 15 minutes before class starts. There are hungry hyenas waiting to take your spot, even though you've already paid for time. If you're running late, give them a call to hold your bike. If the demand is high, there's no guarantee that they'll be able to hold it. If you have your own bike shoes, great. If not, be prepared for the rental fee, just like bowling shoes. Ewwww. Pricing is what you'd expect with a trendy class. You can pay per class or buy a package. Their website is pretty easy to understand and they also have an app. The Pointe has plenty of free parking and the development is new. Sweatin' up a storm & finding my soul! I have never sweated so much in my life! If you're looking for an upbeat & hip form of cycling, this is where you need to be! It's all about that beat. It's my first time going to a cycling class & maybe it's the music, the mystery of the darkness in class, the community ride/support, or those cut arms on all the instructors...I'm hooked! The staff was very accommodating and helpful in setting up my bike. The proper seat height and distance is good to have cause we don't want injuries. Anyway, I had a hard time clipping into the pedals, but the staff member was able to help me into them. It's amazing how strong those clips are, you don't fly off! The workout consists of constant pedaling with resistance (they tell you to turn the knobs to the right...more resistance = harder workout) & some arm workout. It is definitely a challenge to balance while pedaling standing & tapping it back...core workout! The instructor, Alba, was very inspirational and motivating! For my second ride, Michael, led the class and he was just as inspiring and motivating as well! After 45 minutes of intense cardio and arm work, the cool down was just what my body needed! The studio is small, very clean and the staff is great! The best part is it smells so good in the studio despite all those sweaty bodies! Overall it was such a fun class/experience ! Became addicted to SoulCycle and trust me I am one of those people that would go once and not come back. But I did come back. I have been to many studios and I really like the Brentwood one. INSTRUCTORS I have attended some classes with different instructors and you got to love the vibe, the inspiration and motivation of the classes. They always very energetic and uplifting. Perfect for when we are looking to have fun while working out. AMBIANCE Love the vibe of the studio. The locker room always clean and the bathroom always stocked and clean as well. When I first came to SoulCycle it was about a year and a half ago and I was skeptical as hell, but I was going through a big life change and wanted to kickstart my life and feel better in general. I had so many excuses not to go. My brain kept telling me all the reasons I would fail over and over. But despite all of that negative self talk, I still went. I decided not to listen to that internal voice that liked to put me down. Here I am, a year and a half later and I think SoulCycle has been a huge part of my recovery. Now I hear a different internal voice when things get tough in my life. It tells me, "You can do this. You can handle anything. You're amazing." It's a voice I've learned to develop during Soul classes in those grueling moments when you are sweaty and your heart is going a mile a minute, but instead of giving up, your brain accepts the challenge before you and decides to crush everything. Some of my favorite instructors are Tina, Chris (he was one of my first classes ever), Santron (come back!), Chevy, Jasmine, Alba, and Laura Crago. I just love to listen to the hip hop/rap and occasional club music. Shout out to Todd at the front desk for being so welcoming all the time. I always look forward to catching up with him for a minute before or after class. I would love for them to do an Azaelia Banks/MIA ride one of these days. That's something I could really rock out to. I love Soul Cycle!! It can just get a little pricey for me, but luckily Yelp had an Elite event so I got to check out the new Manhattan Beach location. First of all, this plaza is pretty tight and has so much good stuff. I have to come back for lunch. But the staff was SUPER friendly and helpful. Helped me get the right shoe on, gave me water and walked me to my bike. The class was really fun - pretty decent music, maybe a little too much dancey music for my taste but this is usually how the soul cycle classes are. The instructor was super energetic and tried to get the class into it. They gave us juice after, which was awesome. I get that you get what you pay for. Great Soul Cycle location!! read more
