Pivot's owner came from a larger spin corporate chain that shut down, so she branched out on her own to open a smaller spin studio with a team of very talented instructors.

As a first-timer, I loved that the first class is free and even includes shoe rentals. The check-in process was smooth, the studio was spotless, and the staff made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. I live in Alhambra and honestly wish there was a location closer to me, but I would 1000% make the drive to come back. From the music and workout to the party-like atmosphere, every part of the experience was so much fun. If you're looking for a challenging workout that doesn't feel like a chore, this is it. I absolutely loved it!

No one was behind the counter and I couldn't tell who worked there and who was there for the class. So I'm standing at the counter looking around when a young lady walked over and with no eye contact or "hello" or "good morning" says "what's your name". I say Good Morning My Name Is ..... she doesn't say another word. I stand there awkwardly for a minute or two before she says you're on bike 49 and immediately proceeds to walk away. Maybe she was having a bad day .... IDK. I find the lockers and then realize I still need shoes. I walk back to the front counter and again with no acknowledgment or eye contact the same young lady says "what size". I tell her my size she hands me a pair of shoes and immediately walks away ... again. Fast forward the doors open and people start filing into the workout room. Still no customer service no assistance. I find bike 49. I don't know how to adjust the seat or the height of the handle bar. I end up asking another customer for help. She was an absolutely delightful young lady. The instructor enters the room personality to the max! He asks if there are any first timers in the room me and one other person raise our hands. Less than a minute later the class starts. Great vibe I totally see the appeal. But the struggle was real. I'm not new to working out but I am new to spin. I didn't know how to clip in or out I didn't know how to adjust the handle bar height considering all the up and down movements, and there was absolutely no further interaction from the instructor after asking who was there for the first time. Like I said .... Great workout but I was completely turned off by the lack of customer service and lack of consideration for being a first timer.

I felt…read moresick during the class and really gave minimal effort because I felt like I was going to pass out. I understand the water is heated because there are older people taking these classes, but it felt really nasty. I swim on a masters swim club in the morning and as much as warm water feels nice at first, you quickly overheat when doing exercising in it. 79-80° is a perfect temp for water when you'll be moving about in it. Aside from the water temp, I found the instruction to be confusing and the bike itself was very janky and hard to get the hang of. I've taken regular cycling classes and it just wasn't the same to get the rhythm. I won't be returning, but I do think this type of class could be very helpful for people who can't get on a regular bike or are looking for a low impact option.

I think it helps you to work on stretching, coordination, and breathing, among other things. The feeling of biking in the water is indescribable. It's basically playing in the pool but all of the movements turn into a total workout. My plan is to attend classes here twice a week. I'm lucky to have found Criselda's class and I look forward to the next one!

I'm a big fan of Club Studio and have been going for years now. Here's why I love it:…read more* The Gym is well lit, has all the equipment you'd need, and is never too crowded (or empty) to help us stay motivated to work out. * The Studios have great marked spots for each person, with instructors who bring the energy and fun to their classes. Plus, I appreciate that every class starts on time. I personally can't get enough of the Hot Yoga with Sandi! * The amenities are plentiful with towels, hairdryers, lockers and plenty of spaces throughout with everything we need. * The service is great. The Club Manager, Ricky, excels at taking care of the members. * And, there's plenty of free parking so you're never stressed looking for a place for your car or bike. This is a fantastic facility. Check it out!

I'm a very happy customer here now for almost a year. My only complaints about Club Studio are…read morewhen they build gyms without a pool or jacuzzi (such as this one in Long Beach) and they don't have any designations for beginner or advanced levels in their classes. It would be really helpful if you weren't confronted as a yoga newbie with instructors trying to get you to do hand stands or the very challenging moves and weight lifts in the Pilates x Strength class. I think they need to give info to the members about difficulty ahead of time or section off some classes as beginner, etc. I belong to another Club Studio in a different city as well, so I'd have to say the staff at the front desk at this club can be a little unfriendly and inattentive compared to the other club. But I love most of the yoga teachers at this Club Studio, and I really think they made great choices in hiring Sandi, Kelly, Karen, and Jason. They all have great personalities and try to make the classes accessible for people with injuries or special problems . But if you're a senior with a lot of physical problems, this club is probably not for you. The emphasis is definitely on the youthful customer here, and I hope I can keep up with the classes for as long as I'm physically able before I have to go somewhere else less challenging.

During the trial I tried out... Kali Sculpts w/ Melanie: - Melanie was very welcoming and consistent with her transitions and overall flow of the class. I really appreciated her running us through a warm-up for all the major joints in preparation for more dynamic poses. As intended, it was not long before I found myself in flow. Bonus points for the squeaky clean transition into the cool down. Spin-Strength-Stretch class with Emily: - this was my first ever life cycle class (Peloton) and I loved every second of it. Emily's firecracker energy and physical capacity to walk the talk was incredibly impressive. Additionally, it was pretty badass going from 25 minutes of cycling that slowly progressed to adding choreographed movements straight into a 25 HIIT total body EMOM circuit (every minute on the minute) A Restorative Kali flow with Brittini to conclude the week: - A late night Yin to end the day was great. Moreover, drawing down the blackout blinds to completely engross the lot of us into our own sensory space really allowed my mind to trail off into the grounding music cast in the background. Overall, this studio has so much to offer. Firstly, it's impressive that they have such a streamlined and user friendly app. Also, the floor space is super well laid out with easy to use daily lockers and check-in. The star of the show though has to be the instructors themselves - all of which are so unique in terms of skill set and foster a welcoming yet electric atmosphere as soon as the needle drops.

You will walk out of this place drenched in sweat and wanting to come back. Yeah it's hard, but the instructors and the staff are all incredibly motivational, supportive and helpful. I have noticed so many changes in my physical and mental health, and it is largely due to the environment provided by the instructors and admin. Furthermore, I would like to comment on the inclusivity and diversity GetSweat prides themselves in. For example, Jess (one of my favorite instructors) always hypes up everyone in her classes no matter your size, background, ethnicity, race, gender, or anything of that sort. This continues throughout the rest of the instructors and staff, as I have NEVER felt an ounce of discrimstion from this studio. In fact, I believe this studio promotes such a diverse group of riders, which is why it is so special. We are all here for one thing, and that is to get in a good workout and enjoy ourselves. However, the ability to enjoy the rhythm of the class is ruined when there are riders who blatantly disregard the rules set forth by the studio. Simple rule: don't be on your phone during class. When taking Jess' last class of the night, I was annoyed at the utter disrespect coming from many ladies in the room. Not only was this addressed in class, there are also so many signs politely asking not be on your phone. So simple. If I am a young adult and can disconnect from my phone for 50 minutes, I know everyone else can. It is honestly so rude and I feel sad for everyone who tries to use this as their escape, because there are others being disrespectful. Reading comments on how this studio is xenophobic is truly saddening, and simply not true. This studio is extremely inclusive (almost every single employee is a POC!!), and it truly feels like these riders are playing the victim instead of owning up to their actions. At the end of the day, this studio has allowed me to make so many friends and memories, and I come here for a good time. If you cannot follow simple rules at your grown age, it's embarrassing. I highly recommend coming here, as you will be faced with the most friendly and loving staff and instructors.
