I recently visited Soul Spa for the first time during a visit to Jackson and was happy to experience this type of spa in the area. It is inside of a hotel but has a separate entrance if preferred. The staff was courteous and attentive and very area of the spa was clean and very serene. The dressing room includes lockers, restrooms, showers, and a sauna. The robes and slippers were comfortable. I was able to relax in the relaxation room prior to and after my massage service where I was served tea and you can have light snacks (as well as order directly from the hotel bar/restaurant). Overall a great experience but the reason for my rating is that the massage room was very cold and thus not comfortable or relaxing. I alerted the masseuse who also agreed even mentioning that her hands would be cold because of it - when she checked the thermostat it was 65 degrees in the room (during a winter time visit to the spa). Although the massage table was heated I was nearly nude and thus very cold during the massage session. Came into town and had heard that this spa was the place to go! I was able to last minute get an appointment for a deep muscle massage with Melissa and WOW! I've never felt more relaxed afterwards, she's been practicing for 20 years and her skill shows it! I went to this spa for a massage on behalf of a birthday gift from my daughter. I arrived 10 minutes early because I had no plans to partake in the other amenities. The young lady at the front desk was on the phone for 10 whole minutes (without even acknowledging that she'd be right with me). After she got off the phone at 2:00PM (the time of my appointment), she explained that I have to fill out the health questionnaire. After doing so, she walked me to the locker room to show me where everything was and told me to get changed. The dissatisfaction comes from my massage therapist giving me a 35 minute massage... and said that the timer begins at the scheduled time of the appointment. The front desk lady said that she'd charge my daughter's card with a 20% discount and she will receive a notice by email. She also said that the health questionnaire was emailed to my daughter on my behalf and should've been filled out before coming. It's been days. Her card was charged the full $150 for a 50 minute massage (no 20% discount). And, my daughter combed through her emails and said that she NEVER received the health questionnaire for me to fill out before coming in. This was probably the worst massage and mani/pedi I've ever had. The techs were kind, but for the amount of money spent, I expected to not have a lumpy gel French manicure and for the massage therapist to not try to give me his number after the session. The nail tech did not clean up the smile line at all, so the white tips look very messy and uneven. The hotel validates your valet parking and there is usually little to no no wait. The spa is located inside the Westin. Go straight in and to the right. I have been here twice for a deep tissue massage. While I don't like the recommendation to arrive a while 30 minutes early and automatic 20% tip charge (I prefer to give my tip directly to the technician in cash) everything else was excellent. The locker/change areas are clean and well- maintained. The lockers are the typical electronic lockers and are clean. The wait/solitude area is clean and quiet. Good use of space for peace and meditation. The seats and chaises were comfy. Kathy is really good with deep tissue massages. This was our second time here. We came back for our 5th wedding anniversary. I don't give to many reviews; however the exceptional service compelled me to write this. This Spa is first rate and the most relaxing environment we really needed to have a special weekend. A very special thanks to massage technician Mellissa and Josh. The personalized facial was awesome! The aesthetician knew her craft well and had extremely comforting hands. The rain spa is fantastic ! As for the downside, the overall place is a bit awkward, as you have to go back into the hotel lobby to access the pool which is salted but not heated [a bit cold], as well as the work out gym equipment. We were quite busy during the week at a conference in the hotel, thus evening hours extensions and weekend discounts would have been very much appreciated, and most likely attracted even more consumers! read more

Everyone there was extremely friendly, professional and accommodating Thank God for Groupon or I dont think I would've been able to afford this awesome birthday suprise for my mom. We got her a personalized facial, deep tissue massage and mani & pedi. I also got myself a massage. My massage was great and my mom loved her massage and facial. The only reason I am not giving them five stars is because her regular polish mani was a little bit of a let down. After drying for 20+ mins is was smudged before we got home. I think overall they did a great job BUT for the price (even groupon) of the mani and pedi should hold up. We also ordered the fruit and cheese plate around lunch time which was yummy. They also have a pool, hot tub and sauna and showers which I got to use while my mom was finishing up some of her services. Ask for Cathy (Kathy?) if you're getting a deep tissue, but only if you really want a deep tissue! She's very concise and finds problem areas and works them out. She's very strong and has a great deal of pressure ability. I was having some pain issue in my leg from tightness in my hips, and she fixed me right up. This place is a perfect spa getaway in Jackson MS. Tucked away in the Westin hotel, you can literally spend yourself having a spa day here. They have such a welcoming staff, and their facilities are the best. You have to use the sauna and take a shower in their showers! I got a 50 minutes massage with Latoya who was attentive to my needs. Speaking of attentive, Veronica made sure I was well taken care of u the relaxation area which was amazing. The salt water pool and hot tub are also areas you have to visit before or after your treatment - or both. PERFECT..simply PERFECT I was in search of a spa to send my mother for her birthday as a surprise. To be quite honest with you, I am a bit of a spa snob and it was between 2 different spa's BUT I am so glad that I went with Soul Spa. This was by far the best experience for her. She said everything from the accommodations/decor to the service she experience were superb. You see, I do not live in Mississippi and I had to try to coordinate all of the arrangements via phone and email. I was assisted by Shanera and she was simply wonderful. She made sure that what I was looking for as a package for my mother was fulfilled plus some. I received a gift card from Soul Spa. After going several times, I thought "this may be something I can get use too". To my surprise, one day I missed an appointment. Guess what, they still charged my account for the service. When I called, they said they called to remind me but did not leave a message. They also said they emailed me and they had the wrong email address. All this and they would not give a refund. I'm so proud for Jackson. This spa is hands down the best in the metro area. The prices will intimidate some but you get to use the entire facility for just booking 1 service. So I booked a massage and got Heather. I had a pinched nerve that hurt so bad all day on Thanksgiving day. I woke up and it was still tender so I booked this service. Heather was amazing!!! I'm not sure i wanna give anyone else a chance. She fixed me up like new. I also had a lovely facial by Maggie. Today they offered a complimentary eye lift and the facial was 20% off. I'm between services, I hung out in their relaxation room which was stocked with fruit and citrus water, tea, nuts and mints. Reading material and a lovely view to the outside lounge and jacuzzi. You can order a light lunch if you so choose. I decided to hang out a couple more hours and use the facilities. I sat in the sauna for 25 minutes and took a long shower afterwards. This shower is incredible. Rain shower head in the ceiling as well as 8 other shower heads on the wall that you control with an in-shower electronic remote. My massage therapist was very nice and asked if there was certain areas that needed more attention than others. A very relaxing experience with meditation music playing in the background. I booked a 4 pm 80 minute Soulful Personalized Massage. Let me just say that this is the friendliest and most accommodating spa staff I have ever encountered! From the time I walked in everyone made me feel very welcome and at home. The facilities were lovely (a bit bright for my taste- but relaxing nonetheless). But wait- the 80 minutes of complete overhaul I received from my massage therapist Heather goes down as one of the best massages I have ever received!!! When they say "personalized" they are not over-selling in the least! She paid very specific attention to my trouble spots and still provided a very comprehensive massage experience! I booked a mani/pedi here thinking it was another spa. Called right back and cancelled it - the receptionist got it. A few weeks later - an over $100 charge appeared on my credit card. Called again and the receptionist said I didn't keep my appointment so they charged their missed appointment fee. Um, over $100 for a mani/pedi is bad enough but charging after I canceled and they acknowledged it? I'm sure this is a nice place (and they did remove the charge when I raised some questions) but be aware they charge for no-shows (fair enough - but they need to state that upfront). Absolutely Perfect! Visiting with my wife this past weekend and had the best couples massage experience I have ever had. We travel a lot. The staff was incredible and the facilities were so cool. Their locker rooms have saunas and showers that have like 10 jets. I need to try and figure out another reason to get back to Jackson just to get back here.
