I love this store even though it is expensive. They have so many items I want making it just fun to…read morebrowse the store and look at everything. We recently stopped by their 60% off sale. Sounds like a great deal and is, but things are so expensive that you are still paying a good chunk of change for their seconds boards. I bought a $380 large board and absolutely love it. The veteran employee who answered all my questions was amazing. She was so kind and thoughtful when I was trying to figure out what I wanted and educated us on the different type of woods. I loved how trusting she was when asking me the original price on the board and also when I paid inside and came outside to pick up the board. Great experience and I love my new heirloom board!

Rows and rows and shelves and shelves and three levels (no elevator, by the way) add up to space for a lot of stuff. Appliances, cutting boards, candles, jams, aprons, pottery, lots of wood products made in their store on the premises. And we've scarcely touched the range of stuff here. We should caution visitors that the pricers are not on the cheap side. The quality seems high, but so are most of the prices (look for sale items). That said, if you;re a kitchen fan, this is a very entertaining stop. It's in the vicinity of Dorset not far from Manchester but not a location you just likely to stumble upon (although that's what we did). And set aside some serious time to browse here; the stock is worth it.

Let me first start off by saying that between this store and the other location in Salem NH, we…read morehave spend hundreds of dollars for kitchen items and were a pretty consistent customer. That being said, it only takes one time for me to be treated poorly and never go back to the place again. This christmas my wife spend a modest 7 dollars on a garlic keeper, amongst other things, and it was broken by a staff member while they were wrapping it for the bag after we purchased it. My wife made a comment to me that she hoped it wasn't broken by the way it was wrapped and handled as she too noticed it was handled roughly after it was purchased by the employee of the store. I assured her that it was probably fine and it sat on a shelf waiting to be wrapped for christmas. Fast forward to Dec. 24 and we unwrapped it to wrap it for christmas and noticed a crack running through the ceramic casing of the unit. We just decided to return it when we returned to the store a few days later when we were also going to buy a coffee maker and set of knives. Nevertheless, the employee called both my wife and I liars as there "was no way the unit left the store like that." She kept repeating the same thing and treating my wife like an ass so my wife just turned around and walked out of the store due to the way it was being implied that she was a liar and being treated so poorly. Since we were planning on purchasing other items and I was paying very little attention to the initial discussion I had to catch my wife as she was running out of the store and she told me what was happening. I then encountered the clerk over the situation and was treated the same way. I then asked for her name since she had no name tag and her managers name and phone number. She argued with me and told me that she didn't have to give me any of that information and simply gave me the phone number to store. I asked several times for the information and was told I was getting that information and if I asked again she was calling security. At that point I responded with, "why would you call security, I wasn't threatening in any way," she responded with, "yes you are," and began to walk away from me as if I wasn't worth talking to. It was at this point that I said some things that I regretted and walked out of the store. We have spent hundreds of dollars on both stores in Northborough and at Rockingham since we used to live in Andover. I have never been called a liar and seen my wife called a liar in a store before and have never been in a situation in a retail environment where I lost my temper. I will never return to either to these establishments again and will be spreading the word about how people are treated at the Northborough location for The Kitchen Place. Places don't know what customer service is any more...it was appalling how this woman acted.

I've equipped my kitchen with a proper set of Wusthof knives and some NordicWare bundt pans and my favorite Swiss Diamond non-stick pans. They have a good selection of tools, too.
