Vermont Kitchen Supply has always been my go-to place to find anything I need, whether it be for a show, cookbook, morning show segment, or my own home use. The owner is the real deal, so friendly and knowledgeable. She's helped me with my new foray in to sourdough baking, and suggested tools that really make the process easier. The plastic tubs for proofing, the handy lame, and indispensable VT cookstick. I wish I could visit this store in person. The building looks so cozy and charming from the outside. I'm sure it's a gem inside too bc they only carry products from TOP manufacturers in the industry! I'm glad I could purchase from their online store and support their small business all the way from Los Angeles. After searching for hours and seeing that every place I checked is sold out or backordered for a month, I stumbled upon their website and saw that they had the Emile Henry cloche (made in France)! At first I was reluctant to purchase since I originally wanted it in charcoal. They only had burgundy and linen (off white). I ended up ordering the burgundy which is gorgeous, if not better than the charcoal. I got the LAST one too and it was shipped on the same day! Now I don't have to wait a month to bake my next sourdough. Their customer service over the phone is wonderful. When I first called, the line was busy so I hung up. Then a minute later I got a call back from one of the women who work there to ask if I needed help with something. She was really nice and helpful. I absolutely love this place! I happened upon it while killing time waiting for the wide to shop at the Gap outlet across the street a couple or three years ago and now I go back whenever I'm in VT. You name it, they've got it. For such a small space I'm constantly amazed at the variety of inventory they carry. Can't go into the place without dropping a C note or two now. Contrary to one of the previous reviews, I have always fond the staff and owners quite pleasant and helpful. In fact, when I was in there today the owner remembered me, where I was from, what I had previously purchased and even that my wife liked the Gap outlet. I love to visit Vermont Kitchen Supply when I'm in town! This store is very small, but they are completely packed to the gills with every kind of kitchen item you could ever want, or need, or didn't know you needed and now you want. I also really like all of the staff here. Each employee knows a fair amount about each section of the store. For example, I wanted to buy a wok, but I wanted a low maintenance wok that would be easy to clean. They produced one out of the back, brand new in the box. I also wanted a few other gadgets and the employee helping me patiently pointed me in the right direction and guided me in deciding which tools fit my needs best. I was able to find a ton of unique gifts for friends and family in the store. There really is something for everyone here. Pay special attention to their cheese section. Every cheese nerd needs to see what they have to offer from slicing to labeling, they have it! They also have a decent website if you're not lucky enough to be local. I am quite a fan of the Vermont Kitchen Supply. Years ago, when they were at their old location the owner, Kerry, came to assist me. I had always purchased coffee makers in search of the perfect cup. Kerry offered me a very simple machine with tips on making good coffee. It was great. I have purchased other ones since I needed them for other locations. LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I always try to shop at an owner operated store and this place has all the qualities that I hope to find, genuine care and concern, an in depth knowledge of what they sell and more choices then you could possibly think you could find in a shop this size!!! This is a real cooks paradise and when I was there a chef from one of the top end restaurants was there buying for his place. It was busy when I visited but as soon as I had a question looking at the myriad choices of juicer vitamix selections someone was immediately at my side explaining the benefits of each etc. These folks obviously use the products. Yes this store had a large selection of stuff and when i went it i thought it was amazing. But when i got home and decided to go on there website and actually order an item, they did not have it. But they did have a product request and i requested it twice waiting a week till the second time, they never got back to me.... even though they say they will in 24-48 hrs. I thought that was very unprofessional, disrespectful, and not proper for a buisness to do. My thoughts of the store decreased and i wanted to buy my girlfriend something which i told them and xmas is in one week now. Great kitchen supply store. I can always get what I need here and always enjoy going. Sometimes I need to go for just some cheesecloth or a soap dish and another time bought my wonderful versatile le creuset Dutch oven. The customer service is the same, everyone including the owner has always been super friendly. Much better than buying things on Amazon--you can see what they actually look like, and find maybe better alternatives that you did not know about. The only suggestion I have is to please stock some sheet pans that are not coated with nonstick material! I just don't like the brand they sell, prefer a more basic variety. I had to go elsewhere to buy a loaf pan and wished I didn't have to, but it was the same brand as the sheet pans which are also far too heavy and overbuilt in my opinion. Also I really need some cambro 1 quart containers...bought mine here a few years ago but the last time I was in they were out of stock... read more

I'm sorry to say that I had an unfortunate experience here. I bought a French press for a present -- the best they have that costs $50.00. When I got home I noticed that the box was used, with black magic marker writing on it that said "NO GLASS" with the "NO" crossed out heavily. The top of the box was torn. In it was the French press, no plastic wrap and no directions. It felt used, and when I called, it appears that they routinely take glass from new French presses and put them in French presses that people have broken (and charge them, of course) and then order replacement glass for the presses they are selling as new. So in effect I got a French press that was no longer new from the manufacturer. The glass was replaced after they had given the original glass to someone else, so of course the press could no longer be in a new box, newly packed, with directions. I called and the owner hung up on me after refusing to give me a 20% discount which I requested. She said she would replace it if I drove the 50 miles it would take to get their store and back to my home. The woman was defensive and lacked understanding and took offense. This was an anniversary present -- it was an embarrassment. When you buy something new, it should be new, not in a used box with replacement parts. Anyone knows that. They claim to have great customer service -- not to me. read more
