Linens, cottons, upholstery fabric, oh my! The store is wonderful! 100% wool for $8-$9 a yard, and linen for $6 /yd at 60" widths. They have everything you need and things you didn't know you needed. For example, packages of precut yarn for pom-poms and foam for cushions! Customer service is great and they know their inventory. Not like other places that say "IF we have that it would be down isle x". I bought 3 yds of linen to make napkins for the holidays, a crochet hook, a baking pan for chocolates, lamb's wool to make a winter scarf, 2 Waverly napkin size swatches, about 3yds of heavyweight material to reupholster a foot rest and a holiday tchotchke all for $51!!

I'll admit it, I'm not a crafter. I'm not good at sewing and I really can't do much beyond hand turkeys. I stopped here thinking of my mom. She loves crafts. Lots of crafts. I know she wishes I did too. This place is a crafters paradise! If you can think of a crafting material I think it's probably here somewhere. They had pillow panels, fabric, even fabric samples, pins, needles, scissors, latch hook stuff, plastic canvas, scissors, decorations, etc etc etc Aisles and aisles of stuff. Craft books and patterns and quilting racks too! I only had a minute to look around but I can't wait to bring my mom here. The prices seemed reasonable to me. I bought a pillow panel, a rubber stamp, and two old fabric sample books for a little over eight dollars. My mom loved them! The owner was very friendly and I was surprised to hear they were low in stock. It was so full of stuff! I highly recommend checking it out if you or someone you know loves crafting as much as my mom does.

So I drove 2.5 hours to get here on a friend's recommendation. To tell you how it went - I spent 3 hours here! I came looking for scraps and smallish pieces of different fabric mediums and I found exactly what I wanted. Pricing is really great and perfect for what I needed. I was paying as low as $.20 a piece. Some of the fabrics are vintage so keep that in mind. They also have a bunch of wool if you need that - I didn't pay much attention to their bolts as I was looking for smaller. They have a large selection of quilting cotton by the yard so you can get larger cut lengths too. And a ton of buttons, zippers, trim, did I say zippers?, and lace. The gentleman who was behind the counter was friendly to every customer who came in and was engaging during checkout. And he counted everything in his head - don't see much of that anymore. Overall, I will make the trip back again as it was worth it. Not to mention, it was a great day for a drive..Happy crafting!

What a lovely experience. I had heard great things about this shop from my fellow historical…read morereenactors, and since I'm shopping for fabric for my wedding outfit- which is based on our reenactment place and timeline- I figured this would be a great place to try. From the moment Mom & I walked in, we had great interactions with the staff. The lady at the register by the door asked what we were looking for; when I told her we were there for my wedding dress fabric, she said, "well, we aren't going to have a lot of conventional wedding dress fabric." "I know, that's why we're here!" "Oh... reenactors?" "Yep!" We were directed to the fabric room and were immediately assisted by a wonderful woman (whose name I have sadly forgotten!), who was tremendously knowledgeable, very helpful, very pleasant, very kind, and very happy to be helping me with this project! She was also great about educating me on their class offerings- including rug braiding, which I am interested in learning. I had gone on their website ahead of time to get some product numbers to look at. The aforementioned employee produced the desired fabrics in a jiffy, even educating me on the washable properties and showing me swatches of my chosen fabric that had already been washed and somewhat felted. Lucky me, the fabric I chose was on sale! Yay! We were cashed out at the register in an efficient manner. Overall, this was a great experience and I have already recommended Dorr Mills to other friends in the reenactment community.

Wonderful mix of Dorr crafts, fabrics and Pendleton gear. Clothing for all ages. Lovely helpful…read morestaff. Well worth a stop.
