I bought several pans and have spent the past year trying to return them…read moreonline after this store's manager (who sold me the goods) absolutely insisted: 1) the non-stick material was "hardened" and would last, in her example over a decade of ongoing personal use; and 2) does not contain PFAS. Well the pans' non-stick material scratched immediately (silicon tools only, as instructed) and have lost coating down to the steel (so those flakes are probably in my food); and I looked up the material warnings from the Le Creuset website as mandated by CA law and lo and behold it is confirmed there is PFAS in the coating. The manager insisted all sales are final and my only recourse was to go through the company website. DO NOT TRUST THE MANAGER AT THIS STORE AS SHE WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO UNLOAD A SALE, as she did to us. I've been buying Le Creuset for decades, for gifts, for my kitchen collection, and am pretty sure after this experience I'm never going back. Utterly dissappointed.

A few things I already had (extensive Oxo products which I swear by, graters, zesters, spatulas, peelers, ice cube trays, I could go on). I resisted the temptation to buy the handy long-handled spoon that would be perfect for scraping the bottoms of jam or peanut butter jars. My companion and I giggled over a couple of "must haves"--unicorn shaped ice cubes anyone?--but the display was impressive. But kitchen gadgets are just a start. Bowls, knives (I now know what a ceramic knife is), pots, pans, and items better described by others here. it reminded me of a Sur La Table or Williams Sonoma. Just when I thought I was going to get out of there without a purchase, I discovered the perfect pasta/ramen bowl (pictured) to replace one I had recently broken. Durned you, LeRoux Kitchen!!!

What a mistake. I ordered the cream of broccoli soup, which arrived lukewarm and appeared to have been sitting out for quite some time. It had developed that thick, congealed film on the surface that cream based soups form as they cool. It didn't look fresh. I went back to the counter and politely asked for a fresh bowl since the soup wasn't remotely hot. The gentleman behind the counter gave me the impression that he was just going to reheat the same bowl, which wasn't what I had requested or paid for. Something about the interaction didn't sit right with me, so I decided to wait at the counter and watch. And, I am glad I did. While the male server was preparing my replacement soup, an older woman who worked there came over to him and asked what was wrong with the original bowl, apparently unaware that I was standing there watching. She inserted a thermometer into the soup, announced, "This isn't cold," and then proceeded to pour the soup I had already eaten from directly back into the communal soup crockpot. I was absolutely appalled. I had already taken 2 bites from that bowl. Once food has been served to a customer and partially consumed, it should NEVER be returned to a shared food container. Doing so creates an obvious risk of cross-contamination through saliva and other microorganisms that can be transferred from a person's mouth or utensils into the food. If a customer happens to be carrying a transmissible pathogen, this kind of practice could potentially expose unsuspecting customers to contamination. What made this even more disturbing was the number of elderly customers in the establishment. Older adults can be particularly vulnerable to foodborne illness and its complications. The thought that someone could unknowingly be served food contaminated by another customer's saliva is absolutely unacceptable. I approached the manager to explain what I had just witnessed, expecting at the very least some concern. Instead, his response was dismissive, and he seemed largely unbothered by what I was telling him. This wasn't a disappointing meal or poor customer service. What I witnessed raised serious questions about the staff's understanding of basic food safety, sanitation, and cross contamination prevention. I genuinely cannot understand how anyone working in food service could think returning a customer's partially eaten soup to a communal pot was acceptable, let alone do it so casually. I left completely disgusted, not only by what I witnessed but by the lack of concern from management. This establishment needs a thorough health inspection. I would strongly advise others to avoid eating here.
