The hours are not accurate. Not open every day. Waisted my lunch break going there. Concierge at the building entrance also had no clue.

One of my favorite pop-ups. Thursdays are better because of Soul Noodle.

My visit to Grand Isle did not disappoint!! We sat at the bar, and the bartender provided excellent…read moreservice along with some laughter, which made the experience even better. Everything we ate was delicious. The portions were generous and full of flavor from start to finish. We started with the chargrilled oysters, and I almost ate the whole dozen by myself, but I had to leave room for the other dishes. Next, we had the crawfish beignets, which were the perfect appetizer. For our main dishes, we had the crab cakes with pasta and the Blackened Gulf Fish & Crawfish, and both delivered just as much flavor as everything before. Everything from the service to the food was on point. Definitely a place to add to your list. I'll be back for sure.

Found this restaurant while wandering around Caesars Palace. Since I was by myself, I asked the…read morehostess if I could sit at the bar. At the time, there were only a few people seated. I ended up right in front of the guy shucking oysters, which was kind of fun to watch. I chatted with another couple who had been there before. They recommended the cab and said I couldn't go wrong with anything I ordered. Bonus: it was happy hour (4-6 pm), so I ordered a glass of cab and started with a shrimp boil and chargrilled oysters. While I waited for my food, more people started coming in, and before I knew it, the bar was packed--mostly tourists stopping in for happy hour bites and conversation. My waiter (who was also the oyster-shucking guy) was clearly busy. I tried chatting with him, but he was definitely in "work mode." First impression: wow, these oysters are HUGE. Honestly, too big to eat raw in one bite--you'd need to cut them up. The chargrilled oysters, though? That's the move. Deliciously charred with cheese and garlic butter--so good. My second dish was a shrimp boil with big, juicy shrimp. Really tasty and the perfect portion for one person. Later, my friend joined me and ordered a half dozen raw oysters. It was too much for her, so naturally, I stepped in to help My order: Half dozen chargrilled oysters Shrimp boil Glass of cab (Shared) half dozen raw oysters I don't recall the exact price of each dish, but they were around $6-$9 during happy hour. My total came out to about $31 with tip--such a great deal. During our time there we out our waiter's name was Will, and he attended Xavier University on a basketball scholarship. He graduate in 2023 and graduated with a degree to become a pharmacist. I think I finally got him to crack a smile -- okay it was a smirk! I don't blame him for being all business--it's a tourist hotspot, and we were there during the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, right after another big festival week. He was probably exhausted from all of us tourists. Overall, we really enjoyed our time. The food was amazing for happy hour pricing. I'd probably skip the raw oysters next time (just too big to eat comfortably), but everything else was spot on. If you go, sit at the bar. Come for the food, stay for the unexpected conversations--and tell Will we sent you.

Rather than pursuing a burger, I decided to try this well regarded Chinese restaurant across the street from my hotel. This review is based on one item I got for takeout: Szechuan Beef. I am never one to equate quantity with quality. I'm also not well-versed in authentic Chinese. I'm mostly familiar with American Chinese. I ordered Szechuan beef expecting a dry stir fry of beef strips tossed with dried Szechuan peppers. Instead I got a 1 quart container with a zesty, moderately spicy broth loaded with tender strips of melt-in-your-mouth beef. This was pure heaven, and was an explosion of tangy flavor. The quart could've easily served a family of 4. That would just require another side of rice. This was just outstanding! The restaurant was compact yet inviting and service was great. I placed my takeout order on site at the counter, but they have table service.

I have worked in China on and off for years and have eaten many varieties of hot pot in China and Taiwan. This one was ridiculously bad. Like they dont even know what hot pot is. The sweet waiter tried to explain the concept of hot pot, but it was clear that he was not familiar with the real thing. It was cubes of chicken, celery, tomatoes and peppers in a lukewarm broth. Took forever to get hot enough to cook our extra vegies. The vegies didn't look fresh. There were no a la cart sauces. The waiter pointed to the soy sauce and chili oil that were for dumplings and told us that sauce doesn't go with hot pot. My advice is to go to the other Dian Xin where there is no hot pot but the food tastes authentic.
