I moved to Airdrie recently, and after living in cities full of thriving indie businesses, and a bounty of local charm, I was pretty disappointed that Airdrie only had generic chains to offer. Then I stumbled upon Sorso Coffee Co. on my way to yoga, and finally found the charm I sought! Trendy, local, and independent- just what the doctor ordered. The coffee is phenomenal to say the least. I don't know about the rest of you, but there's nothing more beautiful than the aroma of a GOOD cup of coffee, which is the first thing you notice walking through the door. Well, that, and a coffee bar made of an antique barn and reclaimed wood. After suffering through burnt roasts, and watered down brews, my taste buds leapt with joy tasting Sorso's cappuccino. I spent some time chatting with the owner, Dmitri, and he walked me through the minutia of making the perfect cup of coffee. From the exact measurements of the freshly ground beans, to the timing of the brew, the temperatures of the milk, and so on, I realized the passion, pride, and true understanding the staff here have for their product. You can literally taste it. I recommend trying out their food, too. Although I steered clear of the pastries--an intense struggle by the way-- I opted for their rustic Wrangler Wrap. First off, espresso rubbed beef? Always yes. Topped with carmelized onions, swiss cheese, greens, and sriracha mayo, the grilled wrap satiated my need for a hearty meal after an intense yoga session, and for quality food options. Highly recommend stopping by this coffee joint for a meal, and most definitely for a caffeinated beverage. The staff also told me that they're in the process of installing a bar! Looking forward to kicking back with a cold draught beer here over the summer. read more

Sorso Coffe Co. - the embodiment of the modern coffee shop. Being a Calgary native, I am well versed in the coffee culture of YYC and its surrounding area. I have visited shops all over and constantly search for a place where I feel at home. Enter Sorso Coffee Co, the surprising addition to an already stacked coffee scene of Calgary and area. Sorso serves local, independent coffee and searches far and wide to feature 'guest roasts' from other small batch producers. Its so nice to be able to switch it up from the excellent house blend (from Rosso Coffee!) To another roast that I would never have had the chance to try. The food is all made in house from scratch and is very unique. The daily soup always hits the spot, unless its early in the day in which I highly recommend the breakfast options. If you find yourself looking for a place to relax at night, they serve a wonderful selection of wines and even draught beer. The ambiance is great and is a place where I find myself spending long hours studying, conversing, or just listening to the constantly updated music selections curated by the management team. Sorso is a wonderful surprise in the growing community of Airdrie that I constantly make the short 15min trek from Calgary to enjoy, and you should too. read more

Great coffee and vibe, I love having this coffee shop in the neighbourhood. The downside is slower service and some staff that appear untrained- but it is new. In the 5 or 6 times I have visited there has been issues processing at cash or questions from one coworker to another. Service is always very friendly, however, and my daughter loves to play in the play corner at the front which allows me to enjoy my coffee while still being close to her. Soups always smell delicious though I have yet to try them. read more

I am consistently blown away by the drink and food offerings are here at Sorso. Seriously, it's phenomenal, best espresso and egg sandwich I've tasted. Definitely the place to go in Airdrie for coffee meetups/ espresso beverages/ glasses of wine/ foodie bites. There's such a unique vibe in the cafe and great attention to detail. Owners are on the floor and are always willing to strike up a conversation, and the best part is you're supporting local business. Check it out people. read more

The food came out quickly and the service was great and friendly, but the food was kind of tasteless. I had to douse it in salt to get any flavour in and the lemonade I ordered was basically ice water with food coloring in it. I also didn't realize it when I was sitting there but the place stank of oil and when I got home I had to change and shower because I stank of old oil, which is one of my biggest pet peeves. I might go back....and order from the drive through. read more

I just moved to Airdrie and was looking to checkout a local coffee shop (no thank you to Starbucks for me) This place is awesome! Really different selection with tons of healthy options, they have gluten free options, and they even have kombucha from a local brewery! Super chill atmosphere, friendly down to earth staff and honestly the BEST almond milk cappuccino ever! The best/most dangerous part is this place is just around the corner from me... I shall be back! read more

This has to be the best americano I've had in ages. I'm sure watching the owner prepare the freshly ground and freshly roasted coffee with an attention to detail I've never seen before had to help. If you're looking for the Bud Light of bland cheap coffee over-roasted to mask the lack of quality this is not the place for you. I really enjoyed the delicious home made truffles and my kids went nuts over the ginger-dead men. Definitely going back! read more

Amazing! My wife and i came by on Friday night after they closed, but the staff was still around and they offered to make us our coffee anyway. Talk about top notch service and then even a little extra on top of that. Went the next morning to try the breakfast crossaint (based on a staff member recommendation) and wow it was so so so good and priced extremely reasonable price wise. It's great to have such a amazing place so close to home. read more

I have so many allergies (wheat, corn, egg whites) so I am incredibly limited to what I can eat. Unfortunately nothing on the menu is in the list of what I can eat, except the fridge snacks and Greek salad. The chef however has always accommodated me and made up meals that I can eat while there with what they have on hand. Truly caring and talented man! This is my absolute favorite place in airdrie! read more

well the food and servers are great...... But...... whoever the guy is walking around with the UGLY long beard and stupid ponytail and curly moustache, please stay as far away as possible from drinks and food. That is the most disgusting thing to see around anyone's order. No one needs facial hair in their food or drinks. read more

Sorso is Soooo-Good!! Finally the West side of Airdrie has another option for coffee snobs like myself :) what can I say?? Great environment, ambience, location, staff, quality and selection of food and drink - I've got a sneaking suspicion I will be spending a lot of time at this new watering hole in Airdrie!! read more

Great little coffee shop/wine bar. Stopped in after a New Year's Eve run and ordered the breakfast croissant as was recommended by the gentleman behind the counter. Combined with a fresh and warm cup of coffee, this was an excellent light lunch. Excellent staff and atmosphere. read more
