Normally, I like to be present for inspections, but because it didn't work out this time, my wife was there. After several estimates, she settled on Bug Baron for their clear explanation of the treatment, professionalism, and willingness to get their hands dirty and be thorough in locating termite activity. I had The Termite Guy come out since they did the last service over 5 years ago, and they were not as thorough. Not to mention, they focused more on selling me on the company, yet were not willing to do anything that would give me the impression they had identified the issue, so I went with Bug Baron. Simon, my point of contact, is a pro. He was always responsive, willing to answer my questions, and patient in dealing with my schedule. Given that I had received so many estimates, he price matched what i had been quoted. Further adding to the value of them vs the other guys, his warranty was for 5 years, while the others were either 1 or 3 years, and if you wanted a 3-year, you had to pay a pretty penny. Overall, great company, great communication with Simon, great value for the scope of work, and very interested in addressing my issues without pushing to sell me on something I may not need. I asked the tech they sent about mosquitoes and he tells me "if you don't ask for the treatment specifically for mosquitoes in February, it won't work in June" What hogwash is this!? I have been without any service at all now for almost 4 months and guess what: LESS spiders, flies, and ants and more lizards. I got some humane "mouse motels" that capture them live, and then released them. But, when one scampered up on the sofa next to me to say Howdy, I decided it was time to take care of the problem! Jason, the owner of Versa-Tech came to my home to inspect and evaluate the problem. I told him I didn't want to use poison or glue traps. He recommended a 4 to 6-week "rodent abatement" program. They laid traps in the attic, the house and the crawl space, and meticulously inspected the outside of my house for every possible entry point, securing them with foam and mesh wiring to block entry. They also replaced one of my crawlspace doors. The company then sent their guys out 4 times at weekly intervals to check and reset the traps. They did such a dandy job of sealing my house against rodent entry that they only found two, which were in the crawl space traps. And I had no more little visitors in the house! Today, they collected the traps, leaving two in the attic and two in the crawlspace just in case, and I have a one year warranty. These people are true professionals. They know their field. They were friendly and nice to have around, respectful of my property, and showed up when they said they would - all the things you want in a company. I doubt I'll ever have another little mouse greet me on my sofa, but if I do, I'll call VERSA-TECH!!
