However , due to all the growth at this office I have run into two administrative problems that are deeply concerning. I recently asked for a quote on how much a procedure would cost and how much Delta Dental would cover. It took forever to get the quote and Delta Dental was confused about the planned work. The plan was not clear. Additionally they had a lot billing issues and this was finally corrected. Because you don't pay until you are billed.The second issue is that over the past 4 to 6 months the staff that work the front desk have gone from providing the best service I have found Anywhere in Any Business and where now a level of service that is best described as I don't give a damn. We are overwhelmed every day , every appoinment is maxed out and if your new crown fell out , we will let you know when you can come in! We are busy, I am busy get in the queue and quit bothering me. A Dentist owned Practice would never allow this disrespect. They cherish customers as life long assets. Park Dental is not a Dentist owned practice. It is a flawed healthcare model due to admin failures . Focus on the customer and these problems will disappear. I've had more horrifying experiences than pleasant ones at the dentist, which include some pretty suspect procedures involving root canals and my wisdom teeth. So horrible, in fact, that I suspect that the previous dentists I've had probably have their licenses revoked by now, if they're not already in prison for incompetence and cruelty. Dr. Gorman and his staff have always been very understanding and have catered to my mistrust from bad experiences, and he's extremely knowledgable when it comes to recommendations on what you actually need. These guys will genuinely do what's best for you and your health, and that type of focus on the patient is hard to come by. Also a big plus for giving me personalized advice on preventative care. I'm finally on a daily floss/brush/mouthwash regimen that actually works for me and keeps my mouth clean and healthy. One more big plus because he's a big baseball guy, allowing me to have a friendly heated debate about something that isn't just about my teeth.

As I'm newer in town when making my appointment they said they took my insurance, could fit me in over my lunch hour, and I thought everything would be peachy keen. WRONG-O! I got to the office, gave them my insurance card, filled out the paperwork, and while the receptionist said they would check on my insurance the dental hygienist (Wendy) said I could come back. I looked to the front desk ladies for the A-Ok on their end to go back and they said nothing so I headed back. Early on I realized that this was going to take a lot longer than I expected as Wendy seemed to be off in never-never-land. She was taking forever...alright, I'm just going to say it...sometimes technology makes things harder, more complicated, and more involved than it need to be. Yes, they did have TVs in the ceiling to keep patients entertained, but I wouldn't need to be entertained if she did her job in the efficient and timely matter that she should have! Then the dentist came in and talked to me for like 10 minutes! Cool you might think as most dentists only come in a give a quick OK or we need to see you back in here for this or that, but I couldn't take him seriously as he talked with no conviction I was thinking "Are you REALLY a dentist or just a stunt double?" After the dentist finally stopped talking quietly (to himself it almost seemed) and my time in the office ticked to over an hour, Wendy came back in a said the ladies upfront finally got around to checking on my insurance and it turns out they DON'T take it like they said...or rather didn't say before they let me be seen by their office. At this point I was sooooo frustrated! I talked to the billing person on my way out who gave me a discounted rated because of the misunderstanding and I was livid saying "I would have never come here if I had known you didn't take my insurance. When I called to make my appointment you guys said you took it. I have dental insurance for a reason!" I told them to bill me and now am dealing with the back end of a stupid mistake at the front end. If they had any accountability as a business they would verify a patient's insurance before they are seen. All I can say is DO NOT GO HERE!
