Gave me a great recommendation to a family dentist, also. My case is not an ordinary ortho, want my teeth straight, case. There is a lot of work that will be needed and braces are just the 1st step. They have given me no judgment on the state of my teeth, just very helpful advice on how to proceed with next steps and who to contact. So nice, because I had put off any work in my mouth over anxiety about what professionals would say. I appreciate how wonderful, nice, and professional they all are. Comparing my previous orthodontist before we moved (which I love, too) and Pura Vida... Things are moving fast! I think, I took so much time expressing my anxieties to my first orthodontist, he was taking things slow. but with Pura Vida, we are moving right along. I will be out of braces in roughly 6 months and ready to start Phase II on my beautiful, healthy mouth journey. Thank you to the entire staff. I really do appreciate the work you and your constant professionalism.

I even get to watch beautiful beach videos while I'm getting my teeth cleaned. Bonus points for that one.

However, I was given "special" x-rays without any indication these would come at a cost...of $150! My insurance did not cover the x-rays, so I called them to see what they would do. Absolutely nothing. I even proposed paying half of the bill to settle the issue. After paying the full amount, I immediately started looking for a new dentist. If you decide to try Dr. Klausen's office I'd advise asking plenty of questions to make sure they don't nickel and dime you with their fancy x-rays.

Dr. Tom and his staff are fantastic!…read more My first encounter with Dr. Tom was when I heard good stuff about him and I dragged my wife there for a second opinion on veneers. He said my wife didn't need veneers and that her teeth were beautiful...she only needed braces. This was a surprise; we never thought about braces for a 34 year old. In addition, he added that veneers would look bad in 10 years or so, as the gums recede with age...but he'd do it if we insisted. Now, two years later, my wife has beautiful, straight teeth! And the braces were two thousand dollars cheaper than veneers Currently, I also see Dr. Tom, along with our daughter. In addition, I've talked a friend and his wife into switching to him. We highly recommend Dr. Tom and his staff. Thank you! -Daddy Maxx Retro

First and foremost, I'd like to say that the dental hygienists are exceptional. They are attentive…read moreand thorough, and they are the only reason that I would suggest this practice. However, Dr. Gregory J. Kemmitt is everything that they are not. He is short, unprofessional and his work is pitiful. Dr. Kemmitt is the only dentist to give me a filling, so I trusted him wholeheartedly. First, although, they were only surface fillings, I had excessive pain afterwards. One tooth in particular caused daily pain every time that I ate anything that required real chewing - ie, red meat, broccoli, etc. I went back immediately, Dr. Kemmitt, examined me with his shaky hands, and told me it was likely some type of gum irritation and told me to continue to floss and gargle with peroxide based rinse. I did that, but the daily pain persisted. I saw him two additional times; each time, he was dismissive and rude. Finally, over a year later, I went to see another dentist, who listened (imagine that). He was able to fix the problem in ten minutes. The filling that Kemmitt put in was so high and sloppy that my natural bite pattern was inhibited and putting too much pressure on the ligament under that tooth. I bit down on a strip that showed all of the force in the center or my tooth. The new dentist did a little filing and polishing, and when I bit down again the strip showed the force on the cusps of my teeth, where it belongs. When I called Dr. Kemmitt to explain how this year old issue was resolved in 10 minutes, he told me that I sounded bitter and that I should have told him that the filling felt high...unbelievable. I can't speak for the other dentists, at Blue Ridge, but Dr. Greg Kemmitt is way off in every health professional category and standard.
