Long post. Worth the read. Biggest disappointment was the unexpected fees I was charged when my…read moreitem was ready to pick up. Pick Up: I was notified via text that my garment arrived within the arrival month originally estimated at the time of purchase. In the same message, I was also notified that I was now required to pay and additional "tariff fee". I replied that there was no mention of this potential fee at the time of purchase and that there was no clause in the contract that an additional fee may apply or be added later. I received an indirect response from the owner informing me the fee was fair because they are covering some of the tariff cost and that I can pay my original amount due, but they will not release the garment to until ALL fees are paid, including this new "tariff fee". The owner referred to the contract line, "All accounts must be paid in full before garments may be removed from the store." Like I said, no mention in the contract or notification in the 6 months that passed since I placed my order that the store can/would add additional fees. I called the fee a hidden fee, but the owner stated it was government imposed. In my opinion if you do not inform your client that you are charging them until the client is receiving the item, it is an undisclosed fee. The contract does say that the item must be picked up in 4 weeks; so, I did pay the dues to pick up my garment not knowing if the shop would hold rights to my item if not picked up in 4 weeks. Note: From my research other shops have provided written notice of tariff fees to the client prior to the item being available for pick up or it is listed in the contract that potential import fees may occur. Appointment: I was referred to this shop through a designer's website. I was looking for a specific dress, and the site said this shop had it. When I made my appointment request, I specifically mentioned the dress I was looking for. The shop had to reschedule my appointment but offered a 10% inconvenience discount which was honored at checkout. However, the stylist was not ready for me when I arrived. I didn't mind. The stylist had not read my appointment notes. The dress was not available at the store- it wasn't at any of their other locations. They gave me the option to order it from the designer to try it on if I paid the cost of shipping. I declined but decided to try on dresses since I was there already. The stylist had no regard for my budget. I ended up finding a skirt I liked, and the stylist went to draw up the contract. I was by myself in the front of the store and a drunk man walked in and started checking himself out in the mirror. In the wedding dress I was wearing, I picked up my things and walked to the back of the store. The man followed. The stylist asked if she could help him. He looked me up and down and then asked the stylist for a hug. She hugged him. After a couple seconds I pulled the stylist away from him and told him needed to leave. Fortunately, he did. I do not fault the shop for this incident but after that I felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave myself and felt like I was pressured into completing the purchase. The shop informed me that they have a policy now that the front door is to be locked while they are seeing a client.

We made an appointment and had the place to ourselves. I had some styles selected and she brought a couple and suggested some. My friends picked some as well. The store is brightly lit with natural sun light and also indoor lights. You stand on a pedestal to put on the gowns and twirl in front of mirrors. Kamaria was great and she helped me in and out of gowns. She was friendly and attentive. The gowns are pricey but the quality is good. Fancy details and glitter woven throughout. It was a fantastic experience and I have recommended her to another friend who is getting married too. Parking is challenging as it's on the street.

I thought they did a fabulous job with the alterations but communication between appointments was a little spotty. Twice, I was given instructions to communicate via text (I assume with the owner) but no one replied and I had to follow up days later. Not the worst, but definitely frustrating when you have a wedding to-do list a million miles long. Back to the positives - they gave very great instructions on how to bustle. On final fitting day, I brought a bridesmaid and a seamstress walked her through how to bustle. The bustle was complicated since I had a large dress, so the demonstration was wonderful. They also provided written in instructions in case we forgot. Day of the wedding- my dress was bustled without a hitch! I am so thankful for their professionalism in that regard. The second dress, a blush-toned A-line with a floral pattern was the immediate favorite from my mom and bridesmaids and Adriana assured me that alterations could be made to add off-the-shoulder sleeves, which was something I loved on another dress, but that the one I chose didn't have. She recommended a few shops that work closely with the boutique to make alterations. Though we were a little pressed for time, we made efficient use of that time and I didn't feel rushed at all. I tried on 4 of the 5 dresses that we picked out and as someone who hates standing in front of a mirror to try on clothes, I did not feel any of that self-consciousness when trying on the dresses. I felt heard, valued, comfortable, and myself since some of the dresses felt more elegant, more princess-y, or more proper and the one I decided on was definitely "me". They have payment plans, which is great for a bride on a budget and the price was so reasonable, which is one of the reasons I picked them. Adriana also made the time to make my fiancè and me little trinkets for our champagne glasses with charms that included our initials, our wedding colors, and a dog and mountains, which was such a considerate touch to an already lovely experience. I was referred to her by Altar Bridal, where I purchased my wedding dress, so I felt confident that I was being referred to someone experienced and trustworthy with bridal gowns. Unfortunately, that confidence was completely misplaced. My dress originally fit almost perfectly. It was maybe a half size too big and only needed minor alteration. It is a satin dress, so I was especially careful about who I trusted to work on it. After the alterations, my dress is now visibly damaged. There are sewing marks all over the satin where stitching was done and then removed, leaving obvious needle and thread marks throughout the fabric. The dress is now crooked, and the rouching has been completely distorted and does not lay correctly anymore. These are not small imperfections that can be overlooked on my wedding day. The dress looks cheap and destroyed not delicate and elegant like when I got it. My wedding is only a month away. I brought her a dress that already fit almost perfectly, and I am now left with a damaged wedding dress and no idea how I am going to get it repaired in time for my wedding. I understand that alterations can be complicated and that mistakes can happen. However, when someone is trusted with a wedding dress, especially a delicate satin gown, I expect a much higher level of care and expertise. I also trusted this recommendation because it came directly from the bridal shop where I purchased my dress. I gave her multiple opportunities to fix the dress, but at what should have been my last appointment I didn't trust her to touch my dress anymore. If you are considering using this seamstress for your wedding dress, I strongly recommend doing your research and considering other options. I would never want another bride to be in the position I am in now. My wedding is 32 days away and I absolutely hate my dress now.
