Bread

Came here for dinner while In town. Sat in the bar area. Great ambiance and service. Ordered beers and bread service for $5. Started with a kale Ceaser salad followed by a meatball pizza and chicken parmigiana. All the food was very good and got temperature. Prices online for a higher level Italian restaurant.

Arancini bite

Stopped in on a recent Sunday night to celebrate a birthday. Our first time there. It was a warm so we opted for an outdoor seat under a tent (also heated). I enjoy al fresco dining but the pea gravel makes it hard at times to balance all 4 legs of the chair-much rather have a flat surface (ie. pavement). Service was quick and friendly. Our large group ordered several appetizers (arancini carbonara, burrata, wood-roasted broccoli, kale caesar, and calamari. I thought all were very good-the burrata with chili crisp and house focaccia was excellent and actually I felt all delivered more in flavor and enjoyed them more than our entrees. For the main course, we sampled several pizzas as well as the cavatelli with "Monday Sauce". Both the pizza and the pasta didn't disappoint but also didn't rise to the top of either category in the city. I will say for the price point, the dishes were well sized. A solid beer/wine/cocktail menu for those that wish to imbibe. Definitely would be a repeat stop if ever in the neighborhood but also not a place I would make a special trip to.

Beet salad

Sorella was firing on all cylinders when we dined there. We started with the octopus with Calabrian chili oil and arugula, which was a great way to kick things off. The roast beet salad was fresh and well balanced. For mains, the lamb osso buco with polenta was tender and really well executed. The baked ziti Genovese with short rib ragù and béchamel was rich and absolutely worth ordering. Service was outstanding and the room had a lively energy, especially for a 5:30 dinner. It was already packed and buzzing. Overall a really strong experience and a place I would gladly return to.

We ordered take out not too long ago, so that means I can't speak about ambiance, but can share about our takeout service. We ordered: Cavatelli with Monday sauce; Baked Ziti Genovese with gluten-free pasta; Spaghetti Pomodoro; and Carciofi Pizza. They didn't have gluten free pasta for the Baked Ziti so we had to forgo that menu item. Takeout service was average as there was a communication issue. (Note: I noticed Carciofi Pizza is no longer mentioned on the online or carryout menu.) The food was tasty. I sampled every dish. I enjoyed the pizza- great to have for leftovers; the Cavatelli was also delicious. Spaghetti was also nice. I'd try it again to give another chance for service in-person and to rate ambiance.

Chicken Parmigiana, Rigatoni alla Vodka

Husband and I decided to stop by and try some Italian food. We made reservations ahead of time, we got there the staff is very nice and welcoming. Our food was delicious I ordered the rigatoni allá vodka with chicken and it was delicious, a little spicy and buttery. My husband ordered chicken parmigiana and he said it was okay the spaghetti plate was small but the chicken parmigiana was a nice size. Overall we still liked the experience and we want to go back and try the pizza because it looks delicious

Such a fun night at Sorella! Awesome food, quick service, and a fun atmosphere. What's better?? My favorite bite of the night may have been the lasagna. It was a special tonight but they should have it on their menu all the time! It was delicious, with the perfect ratio of pasta, sauce, cheese and meat. A close second was the pizza. I love the wood fire crust and each bite had pepperoni with the perfect amount of hot honey. I'll be dreaming about that for awhile! The rigatoni alla vodka was good but the noodles were a little too al dente and I needed more sauce. But the taste was still delicious. I also had a bite of my moms lamb which was soo tender The biggest thing that stood out to us about Sorella is their pricing. Everything was so reasonably priced for being a high quality, nice restaurant in Bay View! All our meals were less than $30 each I believe. Lastly, don't skip out on dessert!!! Both the Tiramisu and Torta Cioccolato were to die for!

This is another place we like to visit and bring new people because you will never be treated poorly or have a bad meal!! We're always able to have a sensible conversation. The music is there but definitely in the background. If you like Italian food you'll love Sorella!!!

A Bay View Gem! If you haven't been to Sorella yet, you're missing out on some of the best Italian vibes in the city. It's that perfect mix of "neighborhood cozy" and "refined date night" that's hard to find. The Food: The Cavatelli with "Monday Sauce" is a absolute must--it's a rich, comforting ragu that tastes like it's been simmering for days. We also started with the Chicken Piccata Meatballs, which were surprisingly light and zesty. If you're into wood-fired crusts, their pizzas have that perfect char and chew. The Vibe: The atmosphere is lively and bustling (definitely make a reservation because it fills up fast even on weekdays). The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the staff really knows their wine list. Pro Tip: If the weather is nice, try to snag a spot in the outdoor tent/patio area. It's beautifully set up and adds a whole extra layer to the experience. Can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the pasta menu!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing dinner at Sorella for our 1.5 year anniversary! We started with the Burrata which was one of our highlights of the whole dinner! Super delicious and the chili crisp really works great! We shared the rigatoni alla vodka and a Carchofi pizza both were delicious and we loved the pasta especially with the sauce and slight chewiness of the pasta. We ended with the Tiramisu and loved the creaminess and decadence of it. Our server always kind, attentive, and very good to us all evening. This was my second time here and I will be back! Excited for warmer weather to enjoy the outside patio and next time may try to sit at the bar! The noise levels and ambiance were very normal and great for conversation and people watching.

This place was absolutely sooo delicious! I came here on a busy Friday night and was seated at the bar. Dimly lit and a very cozy feel. I tried an NA drink that was sooo delicious! Low in sugar and not too sweet, just perfect. I tried their brussel sprouts and sausage & mushroom pizza which were both sooo tasty and both wood fired, ugh I could have finished it all had I not had such a small stomach. Truly soooo sooo good. For a dessert I had their cannoli and it was delicious as well!! Crunchy outside and sweet inside, the drizzling on top a perfect touch to wrap it all up. Such a great dining experience, cant wait to come back!

Had a lovely night at Sorella! It was my first time visiting in maybe two years (!?) so I was excited to return. The staff to start, were all so sweet. From the hostess to the server, and even the kind gal that brought the dishes out from the kitchen. Atmosphere here is very enjoyable - love the decor, high ceilings, indoor/outdoor seating options, and the open kitchen concept so you can look in at all of the chefs hard at work on their craft. If there is a burrata on the menu, you know I'm ordering it, so we started with that! It was creamy and delish, topped with a chili crisp of sorts and served with loads of prosciutto and house made bread that was so yummy I wish I could've taken a loaf of it home. On special that night was a cucumber salad and an octopus dish, so we figured why not go with those! I loved the salad - super refreshing and light. Octopus however, while good in theory, might just not be my jam. It was well cooked, well presented, and plated with other goodies, but I probably wouldn't order again - maybe its a texture thing in my head? All in all, a nice night at Sorella. I'd love to sit outside on their patio on the next visit!

Flourless cake, so good, so filling!

I still love Sorella. I think it's two years since my last review and everything still holds up. My favorites, the beet salad, the chicken parmigiana and polenta, the pepperoni pizza and the cannoli. The cannoli has the fancy cherries on the end. From eating outside or inside, there isn't a bad spot. Looking forward to more dinners here.

Olive oil cake

Visited Sorella for the first time. Enjoyed everything about our dinner. Loved the selection of Italian and Sicilian wines, and ordered a bottle of Mastrobernadino Aglianico that paired well with our dinner. Started our meal sharing the kale Caesar and burrrsta, which was deliciously creamy and spread nicely over the focaccia. Our entrees were veal Marsala with crispy potatoes and cavatelli with Monday sauce. Both were wonderfully seasoned. Finishing the meal, we ordered the olive oil cake and chocolate budino. Again, perfect choices to end the meal. Our server was wonderful explaining the menu and offering her insight. As we left, we enjoyed a brief, yet enjoyable conversation with the general manager. We are already planning a return visit.

I had heard about the Tin Widow's holiday pop up being one of the best area, the hype was not wrong. From the entrance to the ceiling and walks, this place is the definition of deck the halls. Unless you get here right when they open it early in the holiday season, I would expect a crowd. The drink menu is so fun with holiday themed drinks served in matching glassware. You can even purchase the glass/mug for an additional fee. A lot of the cocktails looked to be batched cocktails which help with the bartender's efficiency. Highly recommend making this place a holiday stop. I'm also curious to stop in after the holidays to experience it without all the holiday decor.

They had several seasonal cocktails in special festive cups, which you could also buy to take home. I got the Cheery Cherry Chocosaurus, which was good, but pricey for what it was. Almost all the seasonal drinks were $15 each and didn't seem too big. The venue itself is medium sized, but feels crammed quickly. There's more people let in at a time than there is seating, so you have to move fast to get a seat. I'll likely come back during the summer to try something else.

We got spring rolls, a braised, pork infused doughnut, and an incredible bone broth that still has me in a tizzy. Fair warning: it's small and difficult to get a reservation - don't try your luck walking in, this place is a hot ticket and you won't be able to get in without a resy, which could be weeks or months out. This is a true gem of a cocktail bar, and is as good as anything you would find in New York or Chicago.
