Really enjoyed our takeout experience, but would love to eat in sometime soon too. The service was good and it was super easy to place the order online. A cute spot and if you're in the mood for pizza or pasta, it's a great place to check out. Highly recommend reservations, as it was busy!

New-ish Italian restaurant in Elm Grove! Cute and dim lighting place with live music on some nights. Lots of table and bar seating, however it is incredibly loud inside. It was packed on a weeknight but it seemed many of the restaurant go-ers were friends of the singer. Would come back for the pasta, not for the pizza, and definitely not for the bread

Tried Za for the first time a few weeks ago. Super cute location. The wood-fired pizza was good and very nice to share a few different types amongst a table. The staff were very nice and attentive. Nice place for a casual date night or catching up with friends/family.

Spicy rigatoni- Highly recommend!! - A close-up of a plate of rigatoni pasta coated in a creamy sauce, garnished with chopped parsley and grated cheese. The pasta appears cooked al dente, with visible herbs and seasoning, served on a white dish with a fork partially visible on the side.

Omg entree was AMAZING! We got the spicy rigatoni & pepperoni pizza & tiramisu. The atmosphere was beautiful. Service was great. We will be back!

Za was amAZing! We went here for a date night but it is definitely somewhere we would be comfortable with the kids. Very mixed crowd of friends, dates, families. The decor looks like something out of a magazine without and the vibe is upscale classy. We started with the brussel sprouts (roasted with goat cheese and hot honey) and are looking forward to trying to recreate the dish at home. My wife had the filet with gnocchi and the steak melted in her mouth. I had the funghi pasta and had to force myself not to devour the entire dish. We finished off the meal with a cannoli!

    The meatball appetizer was delicious!

My friends and I have a book club, and we try to meet west of Milwaukee because some of the members drive from the Madison area, which is why we decided to check out ZA. Everything was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. I already know a couple things I will be trying when I come back next time! We arrived right when they opened on a late Sunday afternoon, and so it was nice and quiet initially, which made it ideal for our book discussion, but by the time we were done eating, it was quite lively and fun!

Made a reservation for Dinner before a show at Sunset Playhouse. (definitely recommend this if going before a show as they get super busy) Was a nice date atmosphere. We DID have to use our flashlight to read the menu well and noticed others did too but it happens, when you're old lol The server was super friendly and attentive. Food came out pretty quickly considering how busy they were. And I was very impressed by the portions. I added the chicken to my pesto pasta as I worried about it being filling enough, but I would have absorbed fine without it. The flavor was great, but definitely garlic. (That's on me I never think about that ahead of time and need to start carrying mints lol) The goat pizza was delicious. Flavors I've never had on pizza. And I'm not the biggest wood fire fan but this crust was really good. I didn't try the garlic bread because I just didn't have room but my husband loved it! It is on the pricier side but felt like the service, food quality and atmosphere justified it. I hope to get back to try some cocktails.

Calamari - Fried calamari, including rings and tentacles, are arranged on a white round plate, garnished with chopped herbs. A lemon wedge is placed on the side, and two small containers hold dipping sauces—one red marinara and one creamy white. The dish is presented on a dark wooden table, with chopsticks visible in the background.

I made Valentine's Day reservations for Za. They get busy pretty quickly so I recommend making a reservation. The restaurant has a very nice date atmosphere. I was fortunate that my party was sat near the large pizza oven. It was awesome to see the pizzas get baked in real time. For appetizers, we got the calamari. The calamari had well seasoned batter and was a nice golden color. The calamari is accompanied by 2 sauces-- a fresh tomato sauce and a lemon aioli. I preferred the lemon aioli since it provided a nice twang to the calamari. For entrees, we ordered the spicy rigatoni vodka and the chicken alfredo. I must admit that our humble party of two was surprised by the size of the pasta dishes. Given that each dish is over $20, it's nice to see that the portions are ample. Both entrees came fresh out the kitchen! The spicy rigatoni is truly spicy. The color and the spice level match appropriately. The chicken alfredo has a good amount of chicken in the pasta. You won't be skimped on your protein. The pasta had us so filled we passed on dessert this time. For drinks, we ordered the limoncello margarita and the espresso martini. Both drinks were strong (compliments to the bartender). The limoncello margarita wasn't overwhelmingly bitter. It was a nice balance of bitter and sweet. The espresso martini is not a creamy martini. The base for their espresso martini is Kahlua so it has a bolder, robust coffee flavor. If you like a creamier espresso martini (usually lighter in color since the base is Bailey's) then I would pass on this one. The service was friendly and quick. I loved that there was a live singer for the night. For a party of two, we spent $95. So, you'll likely spend almost $50/person. 10/10 will come here again to try the pizza.

If you are looking for a lovely experience with excellent food, the new restaurant that has opened in Elm Grove "Za" Is a great choice. Elm Grove was truly lacking in quaint restaurants. We have been there a couple of times now. It is modern Italian inspired. Our service and food were always spot on. Lovely decor. Large open overhead garage door type windows. Comfortable seating. Amazing pizza oven. The only downside I can think of is, it is a bit loud. The acoustics, because of all the hard surfaces,do not absorb into anything. So if you're looking to have a quiet, romantic conversation, this may not be the place for you. It is filled with families, young children, and adults. Za is a wonderful addition to Elm Gove and I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. Also, their pizza is amazing!

I loved the buttery crust, if I compared it to Giodiano's pizza, I would say Giodiano's pizza is deeper with more cheese and sauce. Other than that, it's the same to me. We also ordered a thin crust, I don't remember the name, but it has whole tomatoes on it. We didn't care for the whole tomatoes, which is weird, because I love tomatoes. It made the pizza too wet/soggy. My other suggestion is they need to give you refills better. The person who served us was good, but she never offered me another lemonade, that was a bit odd.

I called in my order, although online ordering is also available, and the order was taken quickly, covering all of the necessary details. I appreciated the option to have it cut or not as I wanted to keep it intact until I reached my home. 30 minutes until pickup (standard for stuffed pizzas) and it was ready as promised when I arrived. There is a separate door for carry out, clearly identified on an awning on the side of the building right next to the parking lot. Plenty of parking too. The staff was friendly and efficient when checking people out. Both times I've picked up my pizza the carry out section was a bit busy but moved fast. There are also a couple coolers with grab and go items like salads, desserts and drinks. The pizza itself was perfect, just as I remembered it. Crust was crisp, sauce has the tang and oh so much cheese on the inside! I do love Lou Malnatis and hope this location sticks around!

There is a small retail section in front for those who wish to purchase games, but there is a massive selection of games to use while you're there, we were told over 950 games! There is an adequately sized menu to cover standard gaming fare, as well as beverage options to cover most tastes and ingredient intolerances Our group ordered a sugar free vanilla latte, unsweetened ice tea, bottled water, and a pizza. The pizza is made in-house and is pretty good. A soft hand-tossed crust topped with a tasty sauce, and we added slightly spicy sausage and pepperoni. I would definitely order it again! The service was excellent despite being a busy with one person handling the guest check-ins, order taking, order delivery, and checking guests out. There is currently a $7 cover charge, which I will assume covers the use of the 950+ games, and is a bargain. You are allowed to bring in your own games, but I assume you can't bring in your own food or drink, but I didn't ask because why would I? We want to support a small business, so buying drinks and food is the least I can do, since they let us have access to all of their games. Overall, we had a great experience, and we will be back! Highly recommend!
