Honestly, any business that welcomes our dog, I will almost every time purchase something-it means that much to me! The store holds a variety of items. It is a souvenir shop but this is probably one of the most unique souvenir shops I have ever visited. I like to purchase items when I travel that are locally made and this store had some items like that. Hubs and I took turns browsing the store and speaking with the owners, which made our experience more personable. I wanted to find something like an old souvenir Chattanooga vintage train but they did not have what I was picturing in my mind. Instead, the owners showed us trains they had in the window and offered to sell us the whole set but I could not afford it. Instead, we bargained for me to purchase a couple of pieces of the set. I thought it was very special of them to do that. We purchased some other souvenirs but none of them were sentimental like the train set pieces. I will definitely shop here again when we visit Chattanooga!

This visit, I discovered that they carried Divine Purity Incense and ventured to try Cocoa Amber. The Divine Purity brand lip balm has always been a favorite of mine so I knew the scent of the incense would most likely be top quality as well. The scent of the incense was perfect from start to finish. I liked the incense so much that I went back and bought several more scents to try. Can't wait to visit again and see what new items have arrived. Service: The staff are always upbeat and pleasant. They are knowledgeable about every item stocked in the shop and always glad to answer any questions you may have. Value: Prices a relative to most shops selling locally made goods. Though value is similar to other shops...I'm not sure you can beat the experience or people. Tip: To smell the scent of the incense so you find the perfect scents for you, simply tip the closed container upside down and sniff the bottom of the container where excess oils have gathered.

At some point in Chattanooga, someone looked at the river and said, "You know what this waterfront…read moreneeds? A boat full of MoonPies." And honestly... respect for the vision. Down along the riverfront sits MoonPie General Store, tucked into an old riverboat permanently docked by the park. It actually took me a minute to realize the store was on the boat. From the outside you're just enjoying a beautiful stroll along the Tennessee River, great views, people walking dogs, the whole scenic downtown vibe... and then suddenly you realize you can board a boat that sells snacks and souvenirs. That's a pretty solid plot twist for a casual afternoon walk. Step inside and the place is packed with just about everything you can imagine. T-shirts, hats, magnets, Chattanooga souvenirs, gifts, candy, and of course the star of the show... MoonPies. And not just the standard ones you find at a gas station. They've got flavors you won't see anywhere else outside of MoonPie headquarters territory. Shelves of them. Stacks of them. Enough varieties that you start convincing yourself this is clearly a "research project" and you should probably try several. "You walk in for one MoonPie and five minutes later you're conducting a full-scale snack expedition." The staff were friendly, the atmosphere is quirky in the best possible way, and the whole experience just feels... fun. It's the kind of stop that makes a riverfront walk a little more memorable. Now for the small reality check. The prices. Let's just say the souvenir math starts getting interesting real fast. A few items had me doing that slow head tilt you do when you're trying to remember if inflation suddenly doubled while you were walking down the river. But here's the micro twist. I still walked out with a bag full of MoonPies. Because when you're standing on a riverboat in downtown Chattanooga buying rare MoonPie flavors, logic takes a short coffee break. Bottom line, MoonPie General Store is a quirky, fun stop along the riverfront with a great selection and a cool setting you won't find anywhere else. Just come prepared to spend like you're at Disney World... and leave with more MoonPies than you originally planned.

The shop is spotless, well-organized, and filled with unique Southern treats, vintage candy, fun souvenirs, and of course, MoonPies in every flavor you could imagine. They even had flavors you can't buy in the stores locally. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, offering samples and sharing a bit of the store's history. Everything felt personal and genuine, which made the experience even better. I loved browsing the gift items. From classic snacks and locally made goodies to quirky Nashville keepsakes, there's something for everyone. And of course, the MoonPies were absolutely delicious, soft, sweet, and perfectly fresh. I even grabbed a few to take home, and they didn't last long! If you're in downtown Nashville, this is a must-stop spot, whether you're craving something sweet, shopping for souvenirs, or just want a fun, nostalgic experience. The MoonPie General Store captures the true spirit of Southern hospitality and leaves you smiling from start to finish. It was truly a unique and great experience, and I love that it's literally on a boat lol

There were a lot of options as far as flavors, sizes, toppings, etc. I stuck with a 12 oz white hot chocolate with whipped cream. Now the white hot chocolate was fantastic. It was real white chocolate and it was a nice bit of sweetness. But the cheesecake was unfortunately disappointing. I don't know if it was over baked or over beaten or what but it had a rubbery jello like texture that's not appealing in the mouth when expecting something different. I could only have two bites before giving up on the $9 slice. I'm torn on this review. And this is because I was so excited and hopeful to try the cute hot chocolate place with desserts that I wanted to love it. But was so disappointed with my dessert. The hot chocolate was fantastic and that being their key thing is what I would try again. But I'd probably never reorder a baked dessert from them as they are not necessarily cheap and I wouldn't want to be disappointed when there are other treat options around the area. The space itself is mountainy fun candy cottage vibe. Serves the purpose of having somewhere to enjoy the treats you've ordered inside.

If you love stationery like I do, you will love this store. Besides stationery, this store has Miffy and Hello Kitty products, tea kettles and teacups, sake cups, chopsticks, ceramics and so much more! The sales associate Emilia was very helpful, knowledgeable and patient with us. She took her time and showed us the fountain pens and tested some out. My friend and I fell in love with the broad nib and Emilia shared what she had in stock. I picked the TWSBI Eco in rose gold nib and picked the Kobe Ink Shinkaichi Gold and my friend picked the TWSBI Eco in purple. They have a great selection of Travelers notebooks and had an olive color which I don't have so of course I got one. Emilia shared the travelers notebooks that just came in from Japan and my friend and I felt like we were kids in a candy store. We were in stationery heaven! We bought so much and there were items I have seen online that I was in the market for so of course I had to have it. Emilia also recommended highlighters and shared the blackwing colored pencils and sharpener with me. I really enjoyed the pen and pencils and trying them out. I tried out every pen they had and the blackwing pencil. If you have never used a blackwing pencil, you are missing out. It is one of the smoothest pencils I have ever written with. I prefer shopping in independent stores over the big box stores anyday. My friend and I were there for two hours and we even went back the next day since I forgot some items. Emilia was there again and helped me with the scissors and even measured it for me since I was flying home. If you are ever in the Chattanooga area, this store is a must visit!

The staff were all friendly, helpful, and genuine in their passion for the items they had for sale in store. Some of the highlights for us of the many lovely and quality made items offered for sale were their stationery, beautiful artisan figurines, and the infamous Japanese KITKATS! They carry the most of the unique flavors we've seen to date. They also offer a small bag of various KitKat flavors to try if you didn't want to commit to a whole bag of one particular flavor. We're so happy we've found I Go Tokyo and look forward to another shopping visit!
