It's a mother and daughter, breakfast & lunch place. Arriving- It's on Main Street, about two minutes off US Route 27 North. There is free but limited street parking in the front. Pro Tip- Circle around the back to a beautiful free parking lot with back door access. Ambience- Clean, bright, and beautifully maintained, two room establishment. There is also a small counter that looks directly into the kitchen. This is a very comfortable place to grab a meal. Pro Tip #2- There is no Wi-Fi, so you'll be stuck with pokey 5G. Customer Service- My server was one of two and a little overworked. Even so, she was friendly and efficient and took the time to answer my questions so no complaints. I was there for breakfast and just as I was wondering about my meal, it came out so a little slow. See my picture for the one-page breakfast menu. Standard American comfort food with no surprises. I ordered a Ham & Cheese Omelet, home fries, toast, and a soda to drink. Note that they serve Pepsi products here. I was slightly surprised that their omelets here are two-egg instead of the typical three. The meal set me back about $14. That's typical for this area. My toast was buttered, warm and had a satisfying crunch. My potatoes were piping hot and perfect! My omelet had plenty of ham & cheese, was not overcooked, and delicious. As expected, it was a little smaller than places that use three eggs. Conclusion- They are very new but coming along just fine. They need to tweak the staffing just a bit. They use handheld devices for payment, so I know they have Wi-Fi. They need to open it up for customers. It will be interesting to see if they stick with two-egg omelets or move to three. Overall, a solid place to stop for casual, comfort food!

Are you kidding me, pulled pork! There was rice and beans of course. There were also two soups. I spotted the owner a least a couple of time checking on things. An interesting observation- About a third of the customers were passing on the tacos and just piling their plates with all the different choices. Arriving- Facing Main Street with an adequate private lot so getting here and parking is a snap. Ambience- Not much but that's not why you're here. Like most of these joints it's a combo of a small store and a restaurant. A few tables and booths, an open kitchen, and a little Florida kitsch and that's it! The customers will be mostly Hispanic but a gringo like me will feel completely welcome. The Television will almost certainly be on a Hispanic channel. Note that this is one of the very few small Mexican joints that has table service! Adult Libations- Somewhere along the way they acquired a beer & wine license so be sure to grab a Corona or a Modelo to go with your meal. It will be served with an interesting bottle opener that you can see in my picture. Customer Service- Friendly and efficient and I've never had a problem. Food- A large, laminated menu with everything you would expect. Beef, chicken, pork, or shrimp, it's all there, Mexican style. I went with Carnitas served with rice and beans and a small side salad. It included my choice of flour or corn tortillas for $12.99. It was out very quickly. Delicious! The pork was moist, tender, and lightly seasoned with some sauce on the side. The rice and beans were hot and typical and tasty. The side salad was fresh, and my tortillas were nice and hot. A fine four-star Mexican meal that was very affordable. It's hard to tell but I just call it delicious! They seem to be most known for their teas and meal replacement drinks. I had a good friend that offered to buy me an iced tea and as I'm usually a coffee drinker, I told her to surprise me. She handed me a beautifully iced cup called a Black Widow (Strawberry, Raspberry, Grape, and Peach). It was superb! I posted a pic of just part of their giant menu so you can see their unbelievable selection. BTW- I could have had an iced coffee which would be typical for me, but I took a walk on the wild side. Note- This is a street-parking place but that is usually not a problem in teeny tiny Avon Park. Note- If you are specially health conscious and doing the meal replacement thing, this is your place! As my cholesterol spiked in anticipation, a loosened my belt in preparation and attacked. Taste- OMG! Tender, juicy, white meat tenders with perfectly crunchy batter. Very good fries but they are consistently undercooked for about a minute. Fresh, crunchy slaw. It was several hours until I could write this update because I was comatose in my recliner! An easy 4 stars and probably 4.5. The minimal parking can get a little crazy and the fries need a little more time but that doesn't stop their legions of fans from stopping by including me. I think I'll survive until Christmas!
