The restaurant is clean, bright and nicely decorated. Ample street parking. There is one bathroom for patrons. Our party had a very relaxing and pleasant experience. It's a mother and daughter, breakfast & lunch place. Arriving- It's on Main Street, about two minutes off US Route 27 North. There is free but limited street parking in the front. Pro Tip- Circle around the back to a beautiful free parking lot with back door access. Ambience- Clean, bright, and beautifully maintained, two room establishment. There is also a small counter that looks directly into the kitchen. This is a very comfortable place to grab a meal. Pro Tip #2- There is no Wi-Fi, so you'll be stuck with pokey 5G. Customer Service- My server was one of two and a little overworked. Even so, she was friendly and efficient and took the time to answer my questions so no complaints. I was there for breakfast and just as I was wondering about my meal, it came out so a little slow. See my picture for the one-page breakfast menu. Standard American comfort food with no surprises. I ordered a Ham & Cheese Omelet, home fries, toast, and a soda to drink. Note that they serve Pepsi products here. I was slightly surprised that their omelets here are two-egg instead of the typical three. The meal set me back about $14. That's typical for this area. My toast was buttered, warm and had a satisfying crunch. My potatoes were piping hot and perfect! My omelet had plenty of ham & cheese, was not overcooked, and delicious. As expected, it was a little smaller than places that use three eggs. Conclusion- They are very new but coming along just fine. They need to tweak the staffing just a bit. They use handheld devices for payment, so I know they have Wi-Fi. They need to open it up for customers. It will be interesting to see if they stick with two-egg omelets or move to three. It's a little off the beaten path for me and I'm a lazy ass so it took me until this weekend to get there! Arriving- It's in the clubhouse of the North Golf Course in the Highland's Ridge Community. Follow the signs for that clubhouse or let your GPS do the work. If you are familiar with the area, it was formally The Tavern. Ambience- So this is what a lot of folks would call a Country Club restaurant. As I had patronized the old tenants, I was curious how they were going to transform it into an Irish Pub. The answer is they didn't! It looks nothing like and Irish Pub. It's a large space with lots of natural light and traditional furniture. It has lots of outside seating that's covered with ceiling fans and many seats have a nice view! There is a very small bar that seats about six. In short, it looks like a Country Club restaurant. So much for pub ambience! Customer Service- Awesome, maybe seven stars! I had substantial interactions with the manager, bartender, and a server. All were exceptional. Adult Libations- Definitely not a pub style bar. It's a full bar with just a few taps but nothing special. Food- Like the ambience, it's an American menu with a couple of Irish dishes. There's Bangers & Mash and Shepard's Pie. Other than that, they throw in a couple of Irish terms to deceive you but it's really an American menu. There're enough choices to satisfy most folks. See their website. I ordered Irish Brisket Flatbread- Brisket, bacon, caramelized onions, diced tomatoes, BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese @ $13. It was out in good time and plated very nicely. Plenty of food for the price so good value. The flatbread was nicely crisp. I love caramelized onions and that's the base here. Everything was very fresh. Plenty of brisket. Unfortunately, the onions overpowered the other ingredients, so the flavors were not balanced. It was tasty but needed a little work to be a winner. Conclusion- If you're looking for an Irish Pub, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for an American menu that has some potential with a great staff and beautiful outside seating, give it a try. As they are new and the staff is awesome combined with the outside seating, I'm going to be a little charitable and say four stars!

The atmosphere was that of a diner with booths and tables, a nice longer table set for a group of almost 12. Specials on the board were of lunch and I was told by our pleasant waitress Amanda, we could choose breakfast or lunch on the weekend. I got to view both menus with fair prices and noted very full plates of specials coming out. One was liver and onions with mashed potatoes piled high. The older gentleman stated, "Now this is how liver and onions should be". The whole table was pleased with many eating that and the pork chop special. We chose to have breakfast and the pancakes were huge on the combo one. Both of us chose different potatoes and both were great. If anything the sausage patty was not to my liking. I like the actual patties. My husbands bacon was great. You get about 2 eggs with the specials. Sandy who is the owner is also the cook and training upcoming cooks. The couple was both there and the waitress staff was on point and actually friendly, unlike some places, this location felt like it could be our go to. Like at home, as some local bars feel, they welcome you. We will try sometime again if we can catch the hours as we just do not get going in the AM out of the house and I never want to feel a rush getting anywhere after 1pm when I know they are closing as most all places do in Lake Placid where we live. Some tables had not yet been cleared when I arrived around 1 p.m., possibly after the lunch rush. My cheeseburger was $8.75, with fries and coleslaw available as a $4.25 combo. The burger patty was very small compared with the bun, which made the price hard to justify. To be fair, the meat had very good flavor. They have the seasoning right; I just wish there had been more burger. The fries looked freshly cut, but mine were soggy and quite salty. The menu listed fries and coleslaw with the combo. The coleslaw was initially forgotten, and by the time the waitress brought it after I asked, I had finished eating. She was very nice, but after bringing my drink and food, she did not check back or offer a refill before bringing the bill. My meal came to about $20. There were things I liked, especially the burger's flavor and the friendly waitress. But given the portion size, fries, service, and price, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again or recommend it based on this visit.

There are two standard buffet tables. One for hot items and one for cold. You have hard shell, taco bowls for taco salad and soft tortillas. The soft come in foil wrapped packages of three kept warm by the buffet. Nice! Start at the hot table and begin to build. For meats, you have seasoned ground beef, chicken, pork and fajita chicken with peppers and onions. Add some rice and refried beans. Oh, by the way, there was also what looked like chicken tortilla soup available. Move over to the cold table for lettuce, tomato, onions, salsas, cheese, sour cream etc. You'll also find some chocolate cake to finish off your food coma! Everything was the correct temperature and most Importantly tasted fresh and delicious. Expect to pay around $12.99 + drink. It this crazy economy, of course it could change. Breakfast is one of the busiest time, but worth the wait. Oscar makes the best eggs in Sebring. Cooked to perfection. Lunch is extremely good. Prices are fair market value and the service and reception is great. If time allows it, Oscar will come out of the kitchen and go to most or all the tables to greet you and inquire how your food is or was. Know anyplace in or near Sebring that will or does do that. I have lived in 23 states and only super upscale restaurants, with [rices to match, are not much better than Ocar's. Just ate lunch there today, had a chorizo burrito, it was great. Like everything at Oscar's, it is more than a single portion. Take my word for it, it is the best of everything. Only thing less than great that I can say is, they close at 2:00 PM. As my cholesterol spiked in anticipation, a loosened my belt in preparation and attacked. Taste- OMG! Tender, juicy, white meat tenders with perfectly crunchy batter. Very good fries but they are consistently undercooked for about a minute. Fresh, crunchy slaw. It was several hours until I could write this update because I was comatose in my recliner! An easy 4 stars and probably 4.5. The minimal parking can get a little crazy and the fries need a little more time but that doesn't stop their legions of fans from stopping by including me. Adult Libations- Somewhere along the way they acquired a beer & wine license so be sure to grab a Corona or a Modelo to go with your meal. It will be served with an interesting bottle opener that you can see in my picture. Customer Service- Friendly and efficient and I've never had a problem. Food- A large, laminated menu with everything you would expect. Beef, chicken, pork, or shrimp, it's all there, Mexican style. I went with Carnitas served with rice and beans and a small side salad. It included my choice of flour or corn tortillas for $12.99. It was out very quickly. Delicious! The pork was moist, tender, and lightly seasoned with some sauce on the side. The rice and beans were hot and typical and tasty. The side salad was fresh, and my tortillas were nice and hot. A fine four-star Mexican meal that was very affordable. These fine folks are overshadowed by a hugely successful competitor a stones throw away. So, if you are sick of the giant Americanized Mexican places, give them a try, especially if you desire table service!

I didn't ask but I believe I was chatting with the husband-and-wife owners and service was just fine! Adult Libations- They are dry and serve Coke products. When I asked for a Diet Coke, nope! What I really would have liked was a beer! Food- No menus yet, not even on a chalkboard! After two months that's unacceptable! The meats available today were ribs, chicken legs and wings. No pulled pork, sausage, or brisket. Meat variety is challenge #2. I ordered a Rib Platter that came with two sides and a bottle of Coke. The pre-tip tab was just under $20. The three ribs were great with lots of meat and the sauce was spot on. The sides were just there, and I have nothing to say about them which is challenge #3. I was also surprised no bread product was offered. If I'm gonna pay $20 for lunch, I expect a small piece of cornbread or maybe a slice or two of Texas toast but there was nothing. Let's call that #4. I think they have potential, and the ribs were great so I'm going three-stars. Let's see if they can step up their game and I'll return in a couple of months.

I'm delighted to say they are open for all three meals! Ambience- Yikes, this place is tiny! I'm thinking it will seat around 20 with a mix of 2-top and 4-top tables. Thankfully, they are well spaced. A nice touch was background Cuban music. Wi-Fi- It's available but only for the employees. This annoys me and other customers and Sophie needs to reconsider that decision. Customer Service- I was touched by two folks. My server was subdued but pleasant and efficient. The lady that cashed me out was friendly and I received a genuine smile and a thank you! Food- The menu is huge! If you'd like a headstart, it's beautifully presented on their website. There is Cuban, and Cuban- American food nicely organized. On this visit ordered a Three Meat Omelet with Cuban Toast @ 13.95.
