I've been training with Sophia for about 6 months and couldn't recommend her more! She's helped me build significant upper-body strength, improve my glutes, and lose 8 lbs through a combination of training and practical nutrition advice. Her tip to increase my protein intake has also helped tremendously with my sugar cravings. She's incredibly flexible and easy to schedule with, and she's now helping me safely adapt my workouts throughout my pregnancy. She's also trained my husband during his recovery after being cleared of cancer, and has been wonderful with both of us. Sophia is knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in her clients. Highly recommend! read more

Sophia is amazing and is more than a trainer. She is also so inspiring. She pushes you in ways you didn't know where possible. I first went to her two years postpartum and I felt stronger than ever! She is gifted and I am so grateful for her! read more

Sophia is the first trainer who's helped me achieve visible results from both exercise and dieting. I've tried all kinds of workouts in the past--weight training, Pilates, yoga, spinning, CrossFit--and while some helped me lose weight, I could never stick with them long-term. I knew dozens of dieting theories, but actually putting them into practice and seeing real results was always tough. My usual pattern was to overcommit with extreme diets and intense workouts, only to give up later. After training with Sophia, I saw results in just one month. I lost body fat, gained muscle, and my measurements proved it. Sophia kept me motivated with positive feedback, but she also suggested a diet that I could realistically stick to long-term. Starting gradually made me even more motivated--I began improving my diet and enjoying working out, even on my own. It's been just over two months since I started working out with Sophia, and I've lost over 11 inches in total and reduced my body fat by 1.2%. Even though my weight was already in the normal range, I wanted to tone up and lose some fat, and I've met that goal. I will continue my work until I achieve my dream body. I'm so grateful to Sophia for giving me the confidence to start working out again on my own and teaching me a sustainable approach that I can stick with for life!! Sophia is amazing you will never regret trusting her read more

I've worked with a few trainers in the past, but the experience here is different. My schedule is a nightmare, but Sophia is incredibly accommodating. Whether I need to shift a time slot last minute or adjust the workout because of a minor injury, she is happy to adjust if she is able. She is also a great hype woman. Having a trainer with a great sense of humor makes the time fly by. I highly recommend Sophia! read more

Sophia is truly, TRULY, a gem of a human being who goes above and beyond what most personal trainers do for their clients. I've finished 2 sessions with Sophia and it speaks to her expertise, skill, and warmth that I immediately signed up for a 24-session package after our introductory session. With Sophia, what you see is what you get: she is genuine, motivating, and will push you without you even realizing it. She offers nutrition guidance and meal plans if you want to use them, and will text you throughout the day to remind you to drink water and eat enough. I want to specifically commend Sophia on her ability to work with folks like myself who are neurodiverse. Sophia deeply understands autism and ADHD and the way they interact with each other: struggling with consistency, being over or understimulated, needing "safe foods", stimming, experiencing issues with textures, flavors, colors, or sounds, wanting structure and routine but not knowing how to get it... I could go on and on. I was so incredibly worried about reaching out to a personal trainer because I was worried my natural ways of thinking would be seen as weakness, laziness, or rigidity. For those of us who are neurodivergent, we often don't have the energy or the mental bandwidth to educate others on why we're different, but the world makes us do so anyway. Sophia takes this hidden barrier away and truly meets every client where they're at. She deeply understands these patterns through experience and empathy. There is no judgment and no explaining you need to do - she understands, and she is there to support you! Beyond just accepting, Sophia celebrates neurodiversity and the individuality of each of her clients. I truly can't believe I found a trainer like her, and I am so grateful I did. As for the training itself: like I mentioned before, Sophia has the ability to push you without you realizing she's doing so. She will listen to your goals and craft a workout with them in mind, whether that's losing weight, getting stronger, building lean muscle, etc. I had never really done weight training before and was definitely like "what in the fresh hell?!" on some of the exercises I did during the first session. But Sophia was always there to make sure I had the proper form, AND to push me to do more reps than I ever thought I could. On my own, I'd give up on 3 or 4 reps - Sophia has helped me to do 10 in those scenarios. Even if you want to give up on yourself, she won't give up on you. I can also say I've already started feeling changes in my body in the two sessions I've done. I can feel the muscles in my legs getting a lot stronger and leaner - and this is only after two sessions! In addition to that, Sophia's approach to nutrition is sneakily SO helpful. She encourages you to eat routinely and make sure you're genuinely fueling yourself - not restricting, calorie counting, or cutting out foods that are safe/comfortable to you. I am someone who frequently had produce go bad and had to throw out even the smallest packages of greens because I had no motivation to eat them. After two sessions with Sophia, I just finished my first one pound package of baby spinach! Sophia pushed me in our sessions, and that meant I knew I needed sustenance that junk food and fast food simply couldn't provide. Knowing I'll have a tough workout with her makes it easier to eat nutrient-dense, balanced food. I'm so excited for the next few months with Sophia and will be sure to update my review when I'm done with my sessions! Thank you, Sophia, for being you. read more

Sophia is wonderful!!! She works from her well equipped, clean and happy garage. She comes from an outstanding body centric career: kick boxing champ; school gym coach, physical therapist. She knows bodies. She preaches protein and water. She'll text you little (and BIG) reminders. Sophia will make you sweat, then stretch out your kinks and ice your back (if that's what you need). My lazy 16 year old son goes without hesitation and is learning boxing and weightlifting! She makes us feel cared for and loved and she'll do the same for you! read more

Sophia is a very caring, generous and inspiring fitness coach/personal trainer. Really loved the workout and her after workout pampering!

If you're looking for a private trainer, look no further. I started with Sophia when I was 4 months postpartum (I'm a first time mom). I wanted to get back into shape and comfortable with my (semi new) body. Sophia helped me with that... and so much more. The sessions go by so quickly. They're enjoyable yet also tough. She pushes you but is also very cognizant of your level of comfort. She puts so much time and effort into your fitness/health journey, as cheesy as that may sound. Highly recommend her for anyone looking for personal training. read more

I have been training with Sophia for the last 5 months and she completely changed the way I think about my fitness! Little bit about myself: In my 20s, I have tried everything - a gym membership, a spin class, reformer pilates, class pass etc. Yes, every workout class had something I enjoyed, but not enough to consistently commit to any of them. I would have a few weeks that I am constantly working out, feeling great and all of sudden with stress (adulting), I would skip for a few weeks - the cycle persisted. I also have old injuries which made me scared to push myself, leading to never seeing results that motivated to keep going. Now, I am relatively healthy in my 30s, but I really needed to prioritize my health (both fitness and diet) to feel strong and good about myself. Then I found Sophia! She is the most genuine, funny and caring human being you will ever meet. Also raising 4 kids while running a successful business...BAD ASS WOMAN! Within a month since I began training with Sophia, I started seeing results - not dramatic, but enough to get me going. The best part is that she is so funny that time flies when I train with her! She is also so attentive to any questions I have about diet. I grew up in Asia, and I never liked the extreme Western diets (no carb, keto etc) as food that I grew up with (rice, noodles) is so important for me and my mental health. She understood that immediately and came up with a diet plan that was easy to follow, and that I could stick to long-term. She had a countless alternatives that would fit me and my lifestyle. 5 months in, I am hooked! Yes, I am seeing better results every month and I feel myself get stronger every day. But most importantly, I am excited to work out and eat healthy, which is the biggest transformation that I am most proud of. read more

SOPHIA = Strong, bad ass, fitness coach, therapist, kind, thoughtful, genuine, super mom, best friend, etc... Shes all that and more! I'm so happy I found her and decided to weight train with her. She's been such a blessing to me. I have a special needs son & weight training has helped me get stronger & have better support at transferring my son from his wheelchair to places. She is the best!! Never letting her go anywhere! She's staying in LA forever! jk .... Hopefully!!! But really, she is the best! Once you meet her, you'll never want another trainer. read more

Sophia is AMAZING. She knows her stuff. I went to her after not working with a trainer for years so I could get back on track. She is so helpful with understanding older women and hormonal changes and how to train for those concerns. She is fun, energetic and so encouraging. Every workout is a challenge in the very best way. I am feeling stronger and healthier and she is a HUGE part of that! read more

I started training with Sophia in the summer of 2020. Mid pandemic year, I realized I needed to do something about the Covid weight I had put on. During such difficult time, being a working mom of two girls I knew I had to do something for myself! One free trial with Sophia and I was hooked. Sophia's home gym is amazing, beautiful & clean! She takes all the precautions sanitizing and disinfecting all the equipment. What's more important is the quality of coaching you get with Sophia as your trainer. Sophia's text coaching, encouragement, meal plans, check-ins are helpful to staying focused on your weight loss goals. I feel what I got from Sophia as a coach was more than just training & meal plans. Sophia has helped me make better choices when it comes to food not just during the time I was training but real day to day life choices. I love how she pushed me to get out of my head and push through a set of heavy reps when I thought I couldn't. I have learned to push myself even when I think I can't not just during a work out but in my daily life happenings. I'm so thankful I found Sophia! I found a strong working mother, a friend, the most amazing cheerleader, and a bad ass trainer. Her workouts are never ever the same! They literally shock your body. I continue to use the workouts she sent to me to do on my own and each time those workouts are intense. If you're looking into getting a trainer but nervous about committing give Sophia a try. I promise you will LOVE her! I am happy I've lost all the Covid weight & gained a new life perspective when it come to food & fitness. read more

This review is long overdue. I have been training with Sophia since April 2021, and She is the most experienced and committed trainer I've met. I was trained by at least 5 personal trainers in my lifetime. Some were good, and some were weird. But none of them is as badass as Sophia. Sophia is charming, honest, funny, and sweet. Additionally, her gym is clean and organized. She is extremely reliable & punctual. She not only always has my exercise routine planned but also pushes me to my healthy limit. Dealing with endometriosis and chronic cervical radiculopathy sometimes makes it quite challenging to work with since it limits my ability to do some exercises. Nevertheless, Sophia finds a way to work around it to ensure I achieve what I want without over-exhausting my body. She would go the distance for her clients. She is just that amazing. Do yourself and your body a favor, and schedule a session with her. You will not regret it. I would recommend Sophia to anyone in a heartbeat. Most of all, her energy and her positive vibe are contagious. I will continue to train with her as long as she still wants to be my personal trainer. read more

SHE WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! I was trying to lose weight before my wedding and I couldn't get anything to work. I researched body positive female trainers near me and I got that and so much more with sophia! I went from hating working out to looking forward to it. I never thought I would actually be excited for a 6am work out 3x a week. Her meal plan was easy to follow with lots of options. She always held me accountable which really helped me achieve my goal and not only lose weight for my wedding but change my lifestyle. Even when I broke my wrist she worked with me to rehab it and help me get in shape with an injury. Not only is she an amazing trainer, she's turned into an even better friend! I cannot recommend her enough. I'm sticking with her for life! read more

Sophia is knowledgeable, kind, and an absolute joy to work out with. In the two years I've been working out with her, I've gotten stronger both mentally and physically, and made an incredibly dear friend in the process. As somebody with several medical conditions and injuries, I'm always tentative when it comes to starting up a new training program, but I needn't have been. With her training, the muscles around my arthritic knee and shoulder are so much stronger and rarely inflamed and I can do more than I've been able to do without injury in a long time. On my recent honeymoon, I was able to hike and climb up and down steep stairs and ruins for hours without pain! She tailors her training towards your body and goals. We work hard and laugh harder, and I actually forward to our time together every week. Plus, my butt has never looked better lol. I genuinely cannot overstate just how incredible she is!!! read more

Just updating to show you that Sophia Ruiz is the trainer you will ever need! Don't take only my word. I'll show you my results in just the first four weeks! I lost almost 7 inches everywhere [with 3 inches just in my middle waist!] and down 1.5% in body fat [23% to 21.5%]!! read more

I have been working out with Sophia for about 5 months and I have not only found myself stronger, more confident and smaller, but I've also gained a friend. Sophia has absolutely changed my life. When I started working out with Sophia, I had just started walking again after a surgery to repair a torn tendon in my leg. I had no feeling in my leg (I still don't) and could barely walk 1/3 of a mile without immense pain. I was extremely limited in what I could do, so I was looking forward to a trainer who understood the severity of my injury and the difficult recovery I had. Now, I can walk miles and even get back into activities I did prior to my injury. It's amazing to feel normal again. From day one, Sophia asked pointed questions about my injury, what I had done in physical therapy and my fitness goals. She learned what I did (and didn't) like in work outs and pushed me to get better and better. Each workout was harder than the one before and pusher me further - I started out only twice a week and grew to 4/5 times a week as I found myself getting stronger and in better shape. Sophia is extremely positive - she motivates you to work harder than you perhaps wanted to work and tries to push your fitness limits. I find myself holding planks for longer, doing more reps and higher weights than I ever thought I would do in a workout. She texts me throughout the day, reminding me to get in my daily water and veggies and listens when I had a bad week. She's not only motivational, but she has become one of my closest friends. As I write this, she is getting ready to move back to LA and while I am so thrilled for all of the people in LA who get to experience the amazing woman and trainer that Sophia is, I am devastated to be losing someone who has completely changed my life for the better. Sophia is an amazing trainer. She's an amazing person. She's an amazing friend. If you're looking for a trainer who will push you and not let you slack off, Sophia is the trainer for you. read more

I've always found personal trainers daunting but Sophia definitely put me at ease the moment I met her. She is warm, funny and super genuine. She's easy to get along with and is super motivating! She actually makes me look forward to going to the gym! (At 6AM!!! And I'm a college student!!) Don't get me wrong, she doesn't go easy on you.... She trains HARD but your body will get used to it and thank you for it later! I feel good just walking out of one session with her. She also gives you a specific meal plan to tackle your problem areas and you can keep in touch with her via text about your diet etc. (Convenience at its best!) I've been training with Sophia for almost a year now because I'm so comfortable with her and she just knows exactly what I want. I'm at my ideal weight and never looked better. SHE IS THE BEST OF THE BEST. THANKS SOPHIA!!!!!!!! read more

Sophia Wick - Thanks for that ass, Sophia! - Trainers Near Me

Wow, where do I begin. Sophia has quite literally saved my life and body! I reluctantly (I hate all forms of working out and was the heaviest I'd ever been) came to Sophia in January 2018 and since then I have lost over 40lbs, 10% body fat but more importantly I've shedded INCHES--over 7inches in my waist and around the same for the rest of my body!!! I NEVER thought I'd see it or be this happy again. Sophia is not only an amazing trainer but she's also a friend and cheerleader. Seriously I have no idea how she kicks your butt in the gym but does it with such enthusiasm and positivity which makes you forget that she keeps adding reps! If anyone is thinking about getting a trainer or nervous about making the next step--don't be and look no further, Sophia is your woman. I came to her to get "wedding ready" but today I'm not only ready (well, want a fewww more inches :)) but a stronger and healthier person. Bottom line--call Sophia TODAY. read more

SOPHIA IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!! I saw her 2x a week for 8 weeks before moving from the Northern Virginia area to Redondo Beach, CA to help me get my beach body, and it was 100% worth it. She kept me motivated through each workout, and gave me a meal plan to follow that was super sustainable and easy to follow (though if I slipped up, she never made me feel bad)! In those 8 weeks, I lost 5% body fat and felt like I was achieving so much more than I ever could on my own. She's SO positive and energetic, it was hard to feel exhausted or unhappy even if if I was doing a 5 AM workout! She was my first trainer and I'm afraid no one will live up to her! Counting down the days until she's back in CA so I can see her again! read more

Sophia is a best friend, fitness coach, BEAST, cheerleader, and fairy godmother rolled into one. When looking for a personal trainer, I did extensive research and interviewed 10 personal trainers in the area who I thought would fit my needs. After 1 email exchange with Sophia, I thought she was the one for me. After the first minute of our phone interview, I KNEW she was the one! Here's why: PERSONALITY: Personal trainers who can tell you what moves to do in the gym are a dime a dozen. PTs who inspire you to push yourself, in AND out of the gym, are unicorns. Sophia is encouraging without being pushy, full of information without being judgmental, and most importantly, sweet and so generous with her time. COMMUNICATION: Sophia is always on hand to help her clients out. She texts every day to make sure we're staying on track, and even helps me with menu recommendations when I have to eat out while traveling. WORKOUTS: Every workout is different! I go to orangetheory regularly, so I am no stranger to intense workouts, but Sophia kicks my butt every time! She keeps my body guessing, has all the equipment you could dream of, and I already see visible results after just 6 weeks with her. NUTRITION: Sophia is arming me with valuable information about nutrition that will last me a lifetime. She provides a tailored meal plan, but also teaches the "why" behind the details of the plan. If for some reason I ever stop training with Sophia, I feel like I'll be able to make smarter, more informed decisions about my food. FLEXIBILITY: Sophia is super understanding when we need to reschedule classes. Love that she puts her clients first! RESULTS: We train as a group of 4, and after just 3 weeks, we each shed significant weight, body fat, and inches. Her workouts and diet plan are not easy - but neither is positive, significant, long-lasting change. We all followed her plan (nearly) to a T, and we all saw results! In summary: Sophia is an amazing girl boss who is passionate about her work, and loves to helps each and every one of her clients achieve the goals they set for themselves. She is worth every penny, and I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a personal trainer. read more

I love Sophia!! As a former personal trainer myself, I knew I found a real gem. I couldn't have gotten better prenatal training anywhere else! Sophia is gentle, sweet, generous, funny, energetic, and caring about your personal well-being like no other trainer. She is a mother of 3 herself, is so knowledgeable, and careful with her pregnant clients. She made me feel special every time I came in and held a space for me when I was going through pregnancy challenges in the kindest most considerate way. She trained me well according to my level of energy that day (some days pregnancy makes you very tired) and we laughed a lot during our sessions. This is my first pregnancy and she helped me in so many ways, she was a godsend! We moved to another city when I was 8 months pregnant and unfortunately, I had to stop training with her. I was sad and tearing up as we said goodbye. I'm forever grateful for her training, her knowledge, and her kindness. She is one of a kind and the best you can find for your prenatal training. read more

Sophia's awesome! Not only did she help me lose that difficult last 10 pounds but she helped my teenage daughter get ready to play NCAA college softball. I started with Sophia in Jan 2020 and have done everything with her - from working out with her in a membership gym, virtual sessions and now working out at her home gym. All I can say is that she has brought me the ongoing positivity and focus I have needed in an otherwise challenging year!! Sophia is full of energy and motivation even in the early 5am sessions. She has the ability to push me to my limit when I thought I couldn't do more. The results show in the body fat and inches I am losing with her. For the mothers who are still trying to lose their pregnancy weight as I have been trying to do the past 4 years, Sophia can push through and make it happen. She understands the challenges mothers have with their "new" bodies. Her home gym is awesome. Always clean and disinfected, the fresh air and ability to workout both inside and out makes me feel comfortable. Sophia takes the necessary precautions by sanitizing, providing hand sanitizer and does temp checks as well! For those looking to end 2020 strong and healthy and feeling great, I fully recommend seeing Sophia. She will be the support you need both during your workouts and when you need someone to keep you in check and away from the sugar! read more

I am several years post menopausal, and I was feeling frustrated with my body, since no matter how well I ate or how much I worked out, I couldn't get the tone I used to have. So I sought out a personal fitness trainer to help me break through my rut. I interviewed several trainers near my house, but as soon as I spoke to Sophia, I knew I had found the one. She has really great energy, and even though you're working hard, the time is really enjoyable, because you're getting to hang out with Sophia. She has a great home gym that's indoor/outdoor. And she gives you lots of support with diet, since that's a crucial part of body change. In three months, I lost 5% body fat and several inches. I am so excited for the changes in my body! Thank you, Sophia, for your encouragement and support to reshape my body!! I am looking forward to wearing a bikini on my upcoming beach vacation. read more

I've been training with Sophia for about seven months now and she is truly amazing!! I had binge eating issues in the past and really wanted to shed the extra pounds from the damage I've done. I've tried everything from fad diets to endless amounts of cardio but wasn't seeing results. Although I was eating a lot less and exercising more, I was still gaining the weight back easily after I ate normal again. I was getting frustrated :(. However, within the first four months into training with Sophia and incorporating a nutritious diet, I went down from 22.8% body fat to 18% and had lost inches on just about every part of my body. In addition, I finally got my metabolism to pick up again! Besides gaining muscle tone, the only other thing I've gained since is a bum. FYI I'm asian so being born with a big bum is a true rarity for our kind! Hahaha. Just saying. Those squats and lunges she makes you do really pay off!! ;) As a trainer, Sophia incorporates a variety of exercises from plyometrics/strength training to weight training and cardio. What I like is that she always keeps me guessing each workout since each time, she'll change up the routine, which is good to prevent from plateauing in my opinion. She also keeps track of your progress and keeps you in check every now and then through text message. She really cares that you reach your goals! Just a fair warning though, her workouts are crazy intense! I'm almost always shedding tears during my workout sessions with her haha. Despite the pain and tears though (all worth it in the end of course ;) ), I finish the workout session feeling uplifted. Her bubbly spirit and sweet personality will rub off on you! If you really want to see results, Sophia's the trainer to call. She's a true badass! I highly recommend her! read more

Sophia is just a gorgeous human being, inside and out. She went above and beyond while training me and really took an interest in my development and progress. From the thoughtful check-in text messages to the final workout at my new gym, Sophia was more like a supportive friend than a trainer and that was really refreshing. I am relatively athletic, having dabbled in triathlons and half marathons and mud runs and various circuit training, kick boxing, and spin classes, etc. I decided to work with Sophia for a little over two months on getting reacquainted with weight training and establishing proper form. It was a great decision because her perky personality and sense of humor really made the whole process less intimidating and the early morning grind became infinitely more tolerable. During our time together I lost inches consistently all over while building significant muscle tone, especially in the areas that most concerned me. And I also feel completely confident setting up the weight machines and going through reps on my own, even surrounded by a bunch of beefy dudes in a gym. I highly recommend Sophia for training and general confidence building, whether you want to compete in a bikini fitness competition or just not feel like a total doofus in the gym. read more

Sophia is amazing! If you are thinking about getting a personal trainer, I highly recommend her. I am getting married in July and was looking for a way to look my best on my big day. I've never had a personal trainer before but after reading her reviews on Yelp, I decided to try it out. At first, I was a little hesitant about the cost of personal training but I am so glad that I did it...it's been worth every penny. In my first two weeks, I lost 6 lbs and 3% body fat!! I've now been working with Sophia for a 1.5 months and I've already lost at least an inch in every area of my body (waist, hips, thighs, calves, arms, chest/back)! I was never able to get these changes to my body on my own - I was doing spin classes, bar method, yoga but never saw the results that I am seeing working with Sophia. I was also shocked at how fast I saw the results. I've been doing a combination of her BodyShox Bootcamp and 1-on-1 sessions. I love that every workout is a surprise and I never get bored. I leave every workout feeling challenged and energized! She really knows how to get results and pushes me to perform exercises that I thought I could never do. She is also extremely professional (always on time), fun, caring and motivating. Her upbeat and positive attitude is infectious and great to be around. Not only are her workouts amazing, she also does a great job at tracking my progress. She weighs, measures and times my mile run to keep me on track. It's great to see my results in a chart. She also provides me with nutrition/diet advice and constantly checks in to make sure that I am eating well. She's also provided me with workouts to do when I travel for work or for areas that I really want to target. I can't wait to feel and look my best at my wedding! I'll have Sophia to thank for that! So, what are you waiting for...contact her and start getting results!!! read more

A+++++++!!! I would give her more than 5 stars if I could! My husband and I trained with Sophia for about 5 months before our wedding. During our training sessions, we weren't sure whether to cry or laugh because she brings you so much pain but keeps you laughing and having fun at the same time. Sophia also prepares customized nutritional plans to expedite your results. A few weeks after we started training with her, my coworkers had already started noticing and commenting on my weight loss and my appearance. When my husband and I look at our wedding and honeymoon photos, we are very pleased with our fit and toned selves!! Thanks Sophia!!!!! read more

I wish I could give Sophia ten stars. Alas, five will have to do. I started working out with Sophia in July 2015 feeling like I was in a workout rut: I ran a lot (longer flat distances) but struggled to include strength, speed and hills into my plan. From day one with Sophia, all of that started to change. She listened to my views on my current workout plan and my feelings about my body and, without hesitation, knew immediately how to build from there. Sophia has unbelievably exceeded my expectations. She unleashed the #beastmode and taught me to believe in myself. It turned out that my rut was deeper than workouts - it was a personal rut that she helped me overcome and completely eliminate. Her confidence in my abilities has worn off on me and has influenced not just my attitude in the gym but in life. Her encouragement has allowed me to do things in the gym I didn't know were possible - whether it's more reps or longer planks - I have amazed myself. I now feel like the athlete I always wished I could be and, in fact, always was, if I would have just allowed myself to believe it. Her support is unmatched: whatever your goals are, she will provide workouts or food advice or ways to improve and will guide you 100%. There are no silly questions and she is very open when it comes to talking about her perspectives and experiences with fitness and with life. She always checks in to see how things are going which I very much appreciate since life changes don't just happen in a few hours at the gym. I was just looking for a trainer and got a mentor, life coach and friend as well. (True story: She even took an Uber to Malibu when her car brokedown to come watch me run a half marathon.) Working with Sophia has truly changed my views on myself and my life for the better and I will forever be indebted to her. There are not enough / not the right words to describe what she has meant / continues to mean to me. You will not regret working out with Sophia. Trust her and let her help you achieve whatever you are looking to achieve. read more

I absolutely love Sophia! She is an amazing personal trainer! Every single workout she kicks my butt! I love how each session we do something different. She really knows how to maximize your training. I have had other trainers where I didn't see results, not the case with Sophia! I have so far gone from a size 12 to a 6 and my metabolism is so strong now! I feel like I can eat anything without worrying (not that I do, Sophia). Sophia has expanded the possibilities of what I think is possible. 2 months into training I was already at what before was my dream shape. Now I am not satisfied and know I can do better than that. I am in the best shape of my life thanks to Sophia and its all happened while I have been super busy in grad school, still working, and getting divorced. I get so many comments from friends and co-workers about how amazing I look. Not to mention, now I have guys constantly checking me out and asking me on dates. Thank you Sophia!!! I love you. read more

Training with Sophia hurts so good!! She's not currently living in my area anymore but if/when she returns, I'm getting back on the Sophia train immediately! She never allowed my body to get used to her workouts. At the end of every session I was cry-laughing because of the pain and the joy that come from working really hard. The rest of my day I always felt amazing!!! I always looked forward to going to the gym to train with Sophia. She becomes a friend really fast--a friend who is positive and believes you are strong and capable--because you are. She always pushed me past what I thought I could do. Every. Single. Session. I've never met someone with so much sustained positive energy. Even now that she's moved away she keeps in touch and asks how I'm doing. She's really the best! read more

I trained with Sophia for 6 months to get me wedding ready. She is AMAZING and I am picky when it comes to trainers. :) First off, I was in pretty good shape to start with - worked out 5 days a week doing spinning, hot yoga, running and some lifting but I am 40 and was having a hard time getting tone - specifically the wedding arms I wanted. Sophia has a warm, caring attitude and creates workouts that are specific to your body type and goals. She sent me motivational texts that kept me on track and pushed me hard during our workouts. And she was calm and encouraging when training got hard and I was over eating "clean" all the time. I lost 8 lbs (and I started at 110) so this the hardest weight to lose. I felt amazing on my wedding day and a month later I have maintained my weight because I built up the lean muscle mass....while easing up on my diet. Sophia is amazing at what she does and I would recommend her to anyone!! :) read more

Sophia is the best trainer I've ever had. She's fun, kind, and patient. And she's tough - she always pushes me to work my hardest and I feel so good...AFTER I make it through the pain of the session ha! She's also just a really sweet person that makes you feel completely comfortable and supported in trying to meet your goals. As she is also a mom she gets the struggles of the post baby body. She's the best!! read more

Sophia helped me get into the mindset to lose weight and eat healthy. In addition to motivating me constantly, she always varies the workouts we do together, so it never gets boring. She is thoughtful, friendly, and truly wants you to succeed! I recommend her to anyone looking to kick start their workout regimen. read more

Sophia's classes are the best! My good friend began working with her and encouraged me to try her out. I began attending her BodyShox classes and lost about an inch everywhere in about a month. She's personable, tough and best of all, really encouraging. She knows exactly how to challenge you and sometimes felt like a "workout psychic" where she'd work on areas I was JUST thinking about. I stopped attending her sessions because of my hectic work schedule and moved to another part of town. But I definitely would recommend her!! Thanks Sophia! read more

I cannot write enough GOOD THINGS about Sophia! I've been training with her throughout my pregnancy for the last few months (twice a week). Honestly, the hours I spent with her were some of the best parts of my week and now that I'm about to deliver the baby (and stopped training), I really miss our sessions and how they made me feel + look. She's not only an excellent trainer -- super professional, dedicated, motivating and skilled, Sophia is also a wonderful person to work closely with. There is a lot of thought and care that goes into her workouts for each client and her knowledge of all things physical and body related is invaluable. I found myself checking in with her throughout the week, asking questions about meals, fitness, physicality and medical issues! She is very, very generous with her time and more! I thought each class was fun and hard... she never let me skip out of doing something just because it was a little hard to do. I would have to finish the exercises- the perfect kind of trainer. You never want someone to just let you flunk or get through life easily!! Hard work pays off. I will be back in the gym with her when I've recovered from the baby, for sure! I also have to give a shout out to the Life Gym, where she trains. The atmosphere there is really great, everyone is friendly and fit! I am so grateful to have Sophia in my life now- can't wait to get back there. read more
