Moo Dang Puff, Khao Soi Moo Todd (Spring 2026)

Soothr has great Thai food and an incredible interior and ambiance. Great for a cute lunch or dinner, and very Instagram worthy food and decor. We made a reservation online for around 3-4 PM, and the service was accommodating and polite. The food was excellent and the portions were generous too. We ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer for 3 people and it ended up being the perfect amount if not a little too much. We ordered the khao soi moo tod which was a noodle dish with katsu on top. It was very fragrant and spiced, with a curry like sauce and bouncy noodles. There was a lot of meat on top so it was very filling. The stewed beef was also delicious, a little spicy and very tender. It came with rice too. The moo dang puffs were probably our favorite, and they were recommended to us by the server. They were light and crispy, and the filling inside was warm and hearty. Overall, definitely recommend Soothr. There's definitely a lot of hype around this place and I get why!

Overall: 5 stars Soothr was a Michelin rated restaurant that has some solid quality Thai food so I was eager to go back for a second round since its been a while. The quality seems to have lasted between the gap and maintains very consistently solid with good service, an interesting menu, and well executed tasty food. I greatly appreciated that they take all dietary restrictions very seriously, reaching out about dairy beforehand and checking in multiple times at the restaurant. (Hoi Johr: C) - Meat forward appetizer encapsulated by a crisp wrapped bean curd. The meat filling is tender and pairs well with that classic thai glaze. The presentation could be made more appealing though. (Pad Thai: B) - Petite portion of Pad Thai, but the flavor profile is solidly there with the sweetness, saltiness, and sourness such that no component overpowers. This one makes a particularly great lunch deal. (Crab Fried Rice: A) - Light but hearty fried rice that is subtle on the palette and paired well with tenderly delicate crab meat. The green sauce adds a herbaceous acidity that gives a second life to the dish. Soothr was highly recommended by the internet and friends who live in the city and it did not disappoint. The Moo Dang Puffs were a great start to the meal. Crispy, delicate, and most importantly, delicious. The main course consisted of the Panang Duck Lychee Curry, and the Chicken Khao Soi. Panang Duck Lychee Curry was delightful. Savory, sweet, spicy but not overly so. After walking in the rain all morning, it felt like a warm hug. The Chicken Khao Soi was wonderful in a different way. A tad more spicy than the curry but it's not going to knock you on your ass. We left Soothr full and happy that our expectations were exceeded. Soothr has pretty much ruined any other Thai food since we left NY and we can't wait to dine here again.

Unfortunately we were underwhelmed. I've had many Thai Boat noodles in my life and this one, even vinegar and chili condiments couldn't fix it. Something was just missing! The pork meatball app was ok. It was just 3 small cooked meatballs with something that tasted like a sweet and sour sauce topping it off. The fried tofu app had the same sauce on top, except the fried tofu was actually good. My husband's duck noodles--- this was the biggest let down. The duck was perfection. The egg noodles though? Tasted exactly like instant ramen noodles that have been overcooked. My husband couldn't bring himself to eat the noodles, and I tried it, and understood why. A good cut of duck meat with overcooked instant noodles--- no, thank you. Service was good overall. The seating is a bit of a tight squeeze and the music was so loud it caused everyone to speak so loudly over it.

I visited Soothr in New York recently after hearing a lot of great things, and while there were some positives, my overall experience ended up being pretty average. First off, be prepared to wait. The restaurant was extremely busy, and the wait time to be seated was longer than expected. Even after getting a table, it still took a while for everything to move along--from placing my order to actually receiving the food. It definitely felt like they were a bit overwhelmed. As for the food, I ordered the duck curry, which unfortunately didn't quite hit the mark for me. The flavor leaned noticeably sweet--more than I was expecting for a curry--and it overpowered the other elements that usually make these dishes rich and balanced. It wasn't inedible, but it just didn't have the depth or complexity I was hoping for. The service was okay overall. The staff was polite, but interactions felt a bit rushed and not especially attentive, likely due to how busy the place was. We didn't have any major issues, but nothing stood out in a positive way either. The atmosphere itself is lively and trendy, so I can see why it's popular, especially for a night out. However, between the long wait, average service, and the food not quite meeting expectations, I'd say it was more of a 2-3-star experience for me. I might give it another try someday, but it's not at the top of my list to revisit.

Had this place recommended to us so grabbed a weekend lunch reservation. We arrived 30 minutes early and waited in line for check-in for about 10 minutes or so. Soon after we were brought in and taken to our table. Service was friendly and frequent. When we needed something, someone was always close by to help. The food was as good as we've heard. The duck curry and pad thai were excellent with excellent flavors without being too salty which I experienced at other similar restaurants. The place itself is right but beautifully decorated. Nice spot all in all on the east side of the city - recommended.

We had a wonderful time at Soothr! We went for Valentine's Day & had a reservation at 12. The place looks small from the outside but it was surprisingly spacious. It is definitely a super popular spot, after a few minutes the inside was packed with people! We ordered drinks & I had the Plum Zaa which was very refreshing with the flavor of salty plum. It helped cut through the oiliness & heaviness of everything. All the dishes were EXCEPTIONAL. I absolutely loved the yum kaw moo as it was SUPER limey, with a good kick. I highly recommend it!! The noodles were delicious as well. The Karee Pu noodles were SO creamy with generous crab lumps. Not spicy at all but OH so fragrant. The beef pad si-iw was sweet and a bit more oily but the noodles were so soft and silky. It had a good bit of smokiness as well! The service was decent for the most part & overall I would definitely recommend making a stop here! We also had leftovers :)

Mango ice cream w/ sticky rice

The koong karee was extremely rich, creamy, and flavorful, yet still light enough to drink it on its own. Combined with the small bits of fresh shrimp and jasmine rice, this curry dish was super unique and delicious. If you go during lunch, you can get complementary meatballs (above average tasting) and half off Thai iced tea (which was quite good)! The mango ice cream with sticky rice was also quite enjoyable, the mangoes were super fresh and the sticky rice was perfect. I think the koong karee was the perfect choice for my first time at soothr since it's extremely unique compared to some of their other popular dishes. I do want to come back though; I will update this review when I do :) Service and ambience were pretty standard for a busy nyc restaurant, it's not really a place I'd want to spend too long at. 4.9/5

Was able to be seated quickly with reservations. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Seating in the back was crowded, but didn't take away from the experience. The oyster dish was recommended by the waiter. 10000/10 would come back just for it. The oyster paired with the curry sauce and rice was an explosion of flavors. I have never tasted something so delicious!

Walked in on a Sunday @ 6 o clock during the blizzard. Was able to get a spot but probably not on a normal Sunday. Was packed despite the weather when we left at 7 ish. Food: Duck curry was excellent as usual. Could eat 2 of these myself. The braised chicken was good but not incredible. Especially after eating at uncle Ray's the previous day. Tamarind cocktail was nice. Smokey and sour and a bit sweet. Ambiance: Decor was on theme. Busy. Service: Very attentive. They check your coat by the door too. They don't allow outside food and drink.

This place was super busy on a Sunday afternoon but we still got seated really quickly without a reservation needed. Their interior is pretty narrow and cramped with how closely tables are put together but gives a cozy/chaotic feeling. The star was definitely the Koong Karee. The shrimp was cooked so well I've never had shrimp with a texture like this before. The sauce was creamy, so unique and addicting. I tried the same dish from a thai place where I live (NoVA), but Soothr's version takes the cake by far. The eggplant dish was also very good, eggplants were perfectly cooked but if you're looking for a more unique thai dish then you can skip this, it has a typical Kra Prow flavor. The Had Yai chicken appetizer was also very good, it's basically fried chicken with sweet chili sauce but the flavors again of the seasoning and the sauce were subtle but unique. Would definitely come back for the Koong Karee and to try other items.

I was recently charged for an item I did not order on my bill and didn't notice until I got home. I called the restaurant to ask them to refund it from the bill. They claimed they went ahead and did so, but it has not been reflected in my bank account at all. Very fishy and their staff should be more careful about this when handing out checks.

Thai food is already great at baseline, but Soothr takes it to another level with their elevated menu. Each dish was packed with flavor, and their cocktails/mocktails were delicious too. The duck rolls were good, plenty of filling in a thin, crispy shell, with a tangy sauce that offset the heaviness of the fried rolls. However, the real winners from our meal were the ribs and the karee pu noodles. The ribs were full of Thai flavor and incredibly tender, with meat falling off the bone with each bite. And the noodles dish was a fantastic blend of crab, curry, and yes, noodles that all came together for a delicious final product after mixing at the table. Really filling and very interesting dishes, such a good meal all around. They definitely live up to the hype!

The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. It adds a layer of character to the place, but what really keeps people coming back is the atmosphere and the drinks. The space is split into two levels: a two lively, sawdust-floored Taprooms downstairs and a more refined Parlor upstairs if you're in the mood for a quieter, cocktail-focused experience. Mood lighting, comfortable seating, great drinks in a cozy and Victorian-inspired space are the perfect blend of unique and. I always felt like I was part of something special the few times enjoyed creative, delicious, and strong libations from the pros at the bar. While it has always been pricey, I do feel like the excellent service ambiance, and drink quality warrant this, but may prevent more folks from becoming regulars so to speak. I love the clever and compact bathroom design, too. IYKYK Long live Apotheke!

Fifteen years later and Apotheke is still one of my favorites!…read more You will walk past this hidden speakeasy several times before finding it. I could tell you to look for the blue beaker sign that says "Chemist" but the better tell is the random guy sitting on a stool outside. He'll be the only person on the street, so no worries about missing him! The menu has changed over the years, but the quality has not. The bartenders are social and personable. And the prices are in line for the area. My bestie and I loved the vibe. One of the best speakeasies she's had the pleasure of experiencing. Don't miss out on this place!

Serious attitude here. The cocktails were very tasty but the service and vibe were so off-putting,…read moreI will never go back. I made a reservation in person more than 24 hours in advance. I wanted to treat an old friend to a quick birthday toast before a show she was attending nearby. Later that night, another friend became available to join but, because they do not actually have a phone that takes calls (only offers an announcement to go to Resy or email) adding another person was not at all easy. I would have had to cancel and rebook and wasn't sure I'd be able to (reservation was for a Saturday night) In most places, a table for 3 easily accommodates 4. But not here. When two of us arrived, they made it clear this was a big problem. I would have walked out right then but I would have been charged $90! We decided to stay and make the best of it, which was a challenge. For a speakeasy, the vibe was aggressive, not relaxing. Very loud music and not great acoustics.) Too cramped to be comfortable, proving that small does not necessarily mean cozy! We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.
