Love the selection of baked and bottled goods, produce and cider! I picked up a container of honey roasted peanut butter this time around and I can't stop eating it. Also, got the apple cider donuts that were a bit underwhelming but the delicious apple fritter made up for it! A bit crowded as we did come on a Sunday afternoon however the line moved pretty quickly and the staff were extremely friendly. There was a worker cutting up different apples and asking customers if they wanted to try!

Such a cute family owned farmers market! I was up in the area visiting a friend and my husband and I stopped by here on the way home. We took home sooooo much stuff... Bbq sauce, cider, apple pie, veggies, dog treats, different types bread, honey roasted peanut butter, short rib raviolis, apples, organic honey, chop meat and more. It extremely rare I go to a new place where EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was so fresh and delicious. The workers there were very nice and my husband and I are very much looking forward to the fall to visit again to also enjoy their taproom next time, some apple picking and another haul of groceries.

Best Apple Cider Donuts around! Wish they had more savoury foods/dishes for like brunch/lunch time. My kids loved the apples and samples. I look forward to trying the mango salsa and other treats we got.

I've visited the shop twice and it honestly never disappoints. There's a great selection of items available for purchase and I love that they have tons of gluten-free things for me to get my greedy lil' hands on. They also keep samples of things like cookies, popcorn, etc. around, so it's fun to try before you buy. From cheese to gluten-free cookies, you can't go wrong; there's something for everyone, so it's a perfect stop if you want to treat yourself or treat someone else.

Great experience and friendly service. You don't have to go apple picking to enjoy this spot. It's a good place to meet up with friends from the city or just unwind after you pick up the goodies next door.

Can't say enough about this place. If you've never been, it's a 100+ year old orchard that has built out an amazing farmers market, taproom for cider tastings and dining area nice for lunch. We spent time at all 3 but the market was our favorite. Can't stress how amazing their selection was. They're known for their peaches, which didn't disappoint, but their apples were great too. Try the Pristines if they have them! Amazing! From their cookies and baked goods to their homemade dips to their ketel corn and nuts and pickles -- so much homemade goodness and it was all so fresh and delicious. The only thing that topped their products were the people. So friendly and literally offered a sample of everything and anything. That kind of hospitality is hard to find these days and goes a long way. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

I visited Soons Orchard today with a group of friends. We made a reservation for brunch which was excellent. I had the eggs benedict and also tasted the french toast. My group ordered cider flights with our brunch. The cider is a bit dry for my liking but I still enjoyed it. We then took the hayride for $5 down to the pumpkin patch. You get to cut your pumpkins off the vine. After picking, we went inside the store to grab some donuts (they were so fresh). They also have a large selection of produce, dips, jams/jellies, and baked goods. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to Soons and will be back. It is a little off the beating path and less commercialized than other orchards in the Hudson Valley which is a plus.

Pulled up to the orchard shop. People were really filling up their arms excitingly with all sorts of colorful vegetables and baskets of lovely apples and peaches. I love it! I've got my arms full too. There are some handmade home decor too. It's really cute to see their art. The bakery area had been depleted of all of its freshly baked goods. So I have to come back another time to sample that. I look forward to it! I wonder if they make peach bread from the peaches and apple baked goods from their own apples. I definitely bought some peaches and apples and some gifts for friends. I look forward to coming back

Soon is a family establishment that has been around longer than most. Humans have been alive. I was invited to the farm dinner. They host every couple of months in which locally source products are turned into delightful delicious meals. The menu this time around was fantastic and the fact that all the ingredients are fresh just makes each dish that that much better. Appetizers for the dinner and included handmade pizzas with the most amazing sauce you have ever had on a pizza crisp juiciest pepperonis with hot honey, stuffed meatballs, covered in vodka sauce, which had the perfect amount of spice to it, seared tuna on a crispy wonton, which was so flavorful, a whipped ricotta with some of sons fresh apples on a crostini, a crispy chicken and waffle bite topped with a Housemade pickle, which was the perfect combination of sweet salty spicy. It was everything I would ever want a singular bite of food. The appetizer of a shrimp scampi with a hash of potatoes and garlic ramps was a perfect start, a Frenched chicken breast in chicken jus Was perfectly seared crisp, yet juicy, and amazingly flavorful. Chef Anthony Mario performs a demo on how to make each dish before it is served to you. Staff are absolutely delightful and they're knowledge of fresh goods is unmatched. Besides the dinner, the taproom has an array of siders, whiskeys, bourbons and wines all locally sourced. And the farm store, having every vegetable fruit, jam, jelly, eat eggs, local honey, fresh farm, baked goods from the fruits grown at soons Is it amazing opportunity to stock up on all of your favorites. The rustic feel and Farmtown aesthetic. Just add to the charm that the owner Art Soons Spreads throughout. His wealth of knowledge and experience is worth the trip alone. Soons is a must go in Orange County.

Does Soons Orchards sell warm sweet apple cider to go on site during harvest season? I'm interested in bringing a group monthly during the season.

Yes Soons has delicious hot apple cider during the colder months, and during summer and spring they have super yummy apple cider slushies! You cannot walk around the orchard while they are harvesting because of safety concerns, but they do private… Read more

Now that the kids are older, I heard that they have events for adults at night during fall weekends. I went Saturday night and really enjoyed myself. My wife did also, we made this event our date night and will most likely be back either on a date or with friends. All of the employees were extremely nice and the farm was lit up and decorated beautifully. The choices of food and drinks (alcohol and nonalcoholic) were great. Each food and beverage option was clearly thought out by the owners to make their guests get into the Autumn and Halloween season. There is a gift shop that is filled with country items and different little knickknacks and tasty bites. You enter through the store, so I would recommend buying your stuff before your night begins so they do not run out of stock. There were fires pits and a band that played all night. The band was perfect! They were not loud and just played the right type of music for the atmosphere. I have been to a lot of outside venues like this one and the bands are either too loud or play music that is "just not right". The band Pierson's had was very low key but were excellent musicians and the lead singer had a great voice and their choice of songs were perfect for the atmosphere. The prices for drinks, food and gift shop items are in line with prices at other events of this type in the area. Thank you Pierson's staff and owners for providing such a great event. I believe there were…read moreothers close to this one, but we went with Ochs because of the low admission fee ($5 per person) and petting zoo. It was an hour and a half drive from upper Manhattan. We went here on a random Wednesday afternoon so we basically had the orchard to ourselves. The first parking lot you see is for their store, you have to keep driving up for the u-pick orchard. There you check in to pay your admission fee, get your wristband, and get your apple picking bag(s). They give you a map where the ripe apples are highlighted for you. My favorite apples were the honeycrisp and snap dragons. They grow vegetables too but honestly we didn't explore the orchard that much (it was huge) so the only other thing I picked besides apples was a tomato, which I felt like was pretty difficult to find a good one. I handed out the apples to other friends and colleagues and they all liked them! There's something different about picking the apple straight off the tree than the apples you would normally just buy at a grocery store. It's a lot crispier when you pick them yourself! The store has apple cider doughnuts! Now being that I am a Californian where we don't have this apple picking culture, I was wondering what all the hype around apple cider doughnuts was about. NOW I GET IT they're so good! Unfortunately since we went on a weekday the doughnuts weren't fresh (they make them fresh on the weekends) so some of them were stale, but most were still good. It's honestly more of a cake than a doughnut, but so good! The doughnuts are self serve towards the back. The store also had a cat on the prowl haha We ended up not even having time to visit the petting zoo, but overall I think my colleagues had a good time here and I would recommend this orchard for anyone trying to have a no frills apple picking experience. I believe there was like a building restroom closer to the store and port o potties closer to the u-pick orchard.

The apple cider donuts are a must-try! We came on a winter day few days after Christmas and they had free samples of apple cider. I got some tea and honey to bring back home to FL. I also bought some apples and they were so soft inside and juicy. Unlike any other apple I've had. I wish I had a way to bring the Amish butter home since a family member has it in their home I often have it with bread in the morning. The staff were friendly, and everything was well-organized. Heads up It's a bit busy during peak times, but that's to be expected at a popular place. But when we came on a Saturday they were practically empty and lady made a joke not to come on the weekends so I assume normally it's a busy day or they dedicate it to stocking up since when we came I saw about 3 of the staff unboxing stuff. Overall, a really enjoyable experience with a charming atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back next season!

It's already amazing as it is and I can't wait to see what's coming next! I hear about farm dinners and food trucks and just being out in the fields. Can't wait to see this place evolve and flourish. For now, you get to have a little taste of their farm with all local produce, flowers, herbs and lots more handpicked right from their farm. Merry was so kind and helpful when it came to explaining the different peppers they have, their local produce even their really cool Greek basil. The best part is EVERYTHING is organically grown and pesticide free. What else could you possibly want! Oh yeah, if you want to become a member you TOTALY can. As a CSA member, you have the chance to not only support the local farmers but you will receive a farm fresh basket of seasonal vegetables EVERY week for 10 weeks. This is definitely a great deal if you don't live too far like myself! Every spring they have a plant sale and at the moment they still had some plants available for the late planters such as tomatoes, basil, peppers and some others of that kind. You can take a plant home right there and grow in a pot or put straight in the ground. Seeds are also available! Love their concept and what they do. The best part is being able to support local especially during these times. They're taking all types of safety precautions and have gloves available for you to pick your own produce and bag it yourself. Pricing is VERY reasonable. You can even take home your favorite piece of pottery, done all locally.
