This is one of the places I miss most after moving to NC six years ago. Luckily my entire family still lives in the area, so every time I come home in the summer (it's closed in the winter), I have to hit up Dottie's. I remember coming here after track practice or meets in high school for a peanut butter cup cyclone (like a DQ blizzard). My all time favorite, and what keeps me coming back, is the pizza burger (sauce, no onions) and fries. Yes, it's greasy and full of FAT, but I can't think of anywhere better to waste my calories:-) Bring cash, because that's all they accept...and lots of it, because it's fairly pricey, but worth it!

Let's just say, after reading multiple reviews about how Dottie's used to be, I should have gone…read moreelsewhere. Large cheesesteak with mushrooms and fried onions was hands down one of the worst I've ever had. Meat was so chopped it resembled sawdust and it was that dry as well, gristle and just no seasoning that made it blah! Very little cheese to help bind the poor quality meat and the roll, just flat out________ed! I could not taste the onion or mushrooms and TBH couldn't see them either!!! Apparently back when the original family members owned it and ran it , the memories were much better for flavor and taste. The rolls have no chew to them and are so lacking in flavor I thought Wonder made them. I'll pass. To be fair, this was a second chance for me and I received the same result as the first time. Tasteless wasted calories. I understand it's not for everyone, but the nostalgia factor does not make up for poor quality ingredients!! Hoagies and steaks ... start with the roll!! My GF's family swears by Dottie's because they are from the area, and I love that for them, me, I grew up in Wayne, PA and going to Philly to sample the abundance of true cheese steaks was a treat.. Sorry for the negativity but please take the not so good reviews seriously. It's an easy fix for next year. Start with the roll!!!! I'm sure there will be a third chance in the future. Looking forward to the improvements.
