My husband took me here for lunch. We already loved the ambiance of the restaurant when we walked in. The servers were very welcoming and they had smiles on their faces. We walked at the perfect time, we were seated immediately! The table first served with complimentary chips (were so colorful) and salsa. They offer guacamole for additional price. Eager to try their to drinks, and ordered a jalapeno margarita, it didn't disappoint. My husband and i shared the chicken enchalada! It was so delicious! The food was wonderful as well as staff members! The prices were reasonable with yummy drinks! Since, Sonrisa is located at the heart of Lake Las Vegas... You can also enjoy walking around visiting little shops in the village. We will be returning! read more

We went to Sonrisa Grill at Lake Las Vegas this evening for the all you can eat Taco Tuesday. They did not disappoint. They offer chicken, beef or pork tacos for $14.95 and carne asada or shrimp tacos for $18.95. We are pescatarians so hubby opted for the all you can eat shrimp tacos. They came with shrimp, lettuce and cheese on corn tortillas. We have had all you can eat at other establishments and were disappointed by the way they give you one or two tacos at a time and take forever to bring more. Here at Sonrisa Grill, they simply ask you how many you want to start with. My husband said four and our server Cinthia, who was excellent by the way, told him they normally start folks out with five! As soon as he was done with his first plate Cinthia came by and asked if he wanted two more? Of course he wanted two more! They came out right away and he was stuffed, could eat no more. Obviously no sharing is allowed, and the menu stated that if you want to take some to go you would be charged per taco. The tortillas were perfectly crisp, not greasy, and they were stuffed with just the right amount of ingredients. We were given complimentary chips and salsa, and I thought the salsa was great with just the right amount of spiciness. Hubby added some to his tacos. I selected the combo plate #1 that included a cheese enchilada, a shrimp taco, lettuce, rice and beans for $16.95 (includes an additional $2 charge for shrimp). It was very good. Since we started with a tasty open faced quesadilla I could not finish my plate, but I sure did grab a to go container and will be finishing the rest tomorrow. Refills on soda and iced tea are free which was a welcome surprise since not much comes free these days. We sat outside on the patio which was nice. There is a view of the lake from the patio but it was dark so we could not see it very well. We got a little cold outside, but they do have heaters near the tables that you can turn on if you like. Overall we had a great experience this evening and enjoyed ourselves and the food. Tip - we parked in the garage at the Hilton for free, and walked over to Sonrisa Grill. The parking lot and courtyard were completely dead, it looked like everything was closed, until we entered Sonrisa Grill which was packed with plenty of happy patrons. Thank you Cinthia and Sonrisa Grill! (We had such a nice time I forgot to take any photos, sorry y'all!) read more

Restaurant was beautiful and had plenty of seats. Went on a quieter night so it was a great night to eat outside. However the service was really slow and there were a few staff members just standing around. It didn't make sense to me. Food was okay, nothing to brag about. It was the dessert that was the highlight for me though, all good selections. read more

The interior was nice/clean. The decor was vibrant and the staff was friendly and welcoming. They provide chips and salsa which were both delicious. The food was served an American Mexican style. I had the shrimp tacos which were pretty good (not authentic Mexican at all but based off the description, I got what I expected.). My dad, got the burrito, enchilada style and he also enjoyed it. expect $15-20 per entree. They had a pretty extensive drink menu but we did not try any (it was noon on a weekday). They did have an outside patio open. Overall, I was very satisfied. My only complaint is the women's bathroom wasn't the cleanest. read more

I live in Henderson but I do not usually venture to Lake Las Vegas. I think Lake Las Vegas is a nice place to stroll at. We actually saw a pack of coyote on the street. While we were walking around, we got hungry and stop at this Mexican restaurant. It appears to be popular stop. We went after lunch around 130pm and they were still pretty busy. But we were seated right away and the service is good. The food is good as well. For yelpers, there is a 50% off their margarita on the rocks if you check in. I also noticed that they have AYCE every Tuesdays. They have all you can eat taco Tuesdays. I definitely I will come back here on a Tuesday. I had one of their combo meal that has enchilada and taco. read more

If you want a straight review of just the food and are willing to risk missing my comlorful commentary, scroll down to where I'm using all caps. If not, enjoy may little story! So, I came in here the other night with absolutely no voice. The restaurant was packed, which was encouraging bc the rest of Lake Las Vegas and the Hilton in wh(ich weI stayed were very quiet, probably due to the June heat. Anyway, when I first sat down, a nicely dressed gentleman (manager?) asked me how I was. I communicated as best I could that I had lost my voice, and he was adamant about checking in on me the whole time I was there. Then I met John, the bartender. Same thing, he worked with my attempts at pointing and signing everything I needed, and still included me in his conversations with the guests next to me. I had a couple of drinks and then left to meet my husband at his conference. The next evening, I returned for the great drinks and to introduce my husband, bc he had heard all about how nice everyone was there. This might, we ate. OH MY GOODNESS! As a girl with a Mexican grandma, I can tell you, this food is the real deal. I had the skirt steak, and my husband. had a quesadilla. We couldn't decide which one was better. All we knew is that we LOVED IT! They both had flavor like I haven't had since my grandma passed. We still have some recipes but not all. I also had a skinny margarita and a lemon drop martini, which were both fresh and flavorful. I was so disappointed that my husband wanted to try the Italian place nearby the next night, which was good, but it paled in comparison to this little gem. :) read more

My husband and I stopped here after another restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. I don't drink and the server we had was very pushy trying to get us to take shots and serve us drinks. I get you want to create a party atmosphere but it was early in the evening and we just wanted to relax after just getting off the plane. The food was okay. I had the taco salad but the dressing was too spicy for me. It's my fault I should've asked for a different dressing. read more

If you want AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD, and not an excuse for mexican food-then go to Sonrisa Grill. I came here alone but I didn't feel alone. Vanessa and Mayra made sure to personalize my experience by politely showing interest in my life (military). Attended to every need almost immediately. Vanessa seamlessly attended both inside and outside tables. Most people sat outside due to the beautiful view. The inside was saturated in all things valued by Mexico, down to the art and colors. The food tasted fresh, and some of the ingredients were imported directly from Mexico. I had an amazing experience. I came not knowing what to expect and left planning my next return. The staff genuinely cares about customer satisfaction. I'd recommend this place to ANYONE. read more

Where do I start? caveat emptor There are two types of restaurants in markets like Las Vegas. Those that are in the community and service the community. Then there are those that are tourist facing and those are their guests. Both serve a great purpose, but the problem with the tourism platform, you don't rely on return business so you build your business on instant gratification and not in brand loyalty. I'll give you an example. Me: I'd like a house margarita Our server: eh... Me: no? Our server: the house tequila is garbage. You won't like that. Me: fine, all take the upgrade Our server: good idea. My wife: I'd like the red wine sangria. Our server: really? My wife: no? Our server: Try the white, it's so much sweeter. My wife: ok We then looked at the happy hour menu that they pushed on us, and saw that my margarita was now not reduced at all because of the upgraded tequila, but her sangria is , so that's fine. Ok, whatever. My margarita was garbage, and he sangria was a 2 out of 5. So when she returned we ordered a house margarita and red sangria. Our server said "are you sure?" To both of those ordered and then explained to my wife that the original white wine one was not on happy hour. See attached flyer. A perfect bait and switch. I can go on and on, but I think. You get it. The food was a 3.0 for us, but the whole interaction with us ruined any chance we'll go back or recommend the place to anyone. When we paid we tried to use this "timed" coupon and the server said "oh that's not ours." I call B.S. caveat emptor read more

Love this place. Staff is always on point. Always good food and good drinks. Love that it's by the lake!

Great food, and the ambiance on Fridays and Saturdays are unmatched when DJ is around!

Ivan is not only the best bartender but a wonderful host. The food is good and he is really amazing be sure to stop by

1/2 a star....at BEST!! When your teeny-bopper hostesses don't greet your party when walking in, then take your party all the way across the restaurant only to see there's no table, walks you all the way back to the front, and doesn't apologize....you suck! When your hostesses then ask if you want to wait 10 minutes, and you politely say yes, and they take your number and tell you to wait outside....you suck! After 20+ minutes and no texts from your hostesses, and you walk in to a half empty restaurant and question them and their response is it will be 30 more minutes because the kitchen can't catch up so we aren't seating anyone...you suck!! read more

Sonrisa Grill is a vibrant restaurant in Lake Las Vegas with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Usually we show up without reservations and hoping to get a table. Last time we were here we settled for a bar area and surprisingly it was pretty nice. The chairs and tables at the bar are high chairs so if you need a regular table and chair, your options are in the main dining room and the patio area. Service is quick and easy. Waiter was checking on us regularly. We received the complimentary chips and salsa quickly after we sitting down. The corn chips are very colorful. If you are allergic to food dyes, beware! Salsa is very mild, and I loved it, because I don't eat spicy food. My entree, the Chicken Enchiladas with a green sauce was delicious, and not spicy at all, just as the waiter said. Bf ordered the Chicken Chimichanga and it was also delicious. This restaurant has a full liquor bar! If you're looking for Happy Hour, you must arrive before 6 P.M. ! It ends at 6! We really like the vibe here! Service is good and food is delicious! read more

This restaurant and bar is located in the village behind the Hilton Lake Las Vegas. I stopped by on a hot day looking for a cold margarita and to escape the heat. You're immediately greeted when you enter the door. The restaurant decor gives you a nice Mexican restaurant vibe. It didn't take long to be seated and provided with a menu. I inquired about their happy hour and was provided with what looked like a great happy hour menu. Unfortunately only the drink from the menu were at happy hour prices. The menu had food on it also but we were told the food was not at happy hour prices...o well. Hugo our server was OUTSTANDING. He was friendly and very informative. We tried a variety of appetizers and they were all delicious. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not functioning well throughout the restaurant. Sadly this cut our visit short due to once again...trying to escape the heat. I would definitely return to this location but after the AC is functioning well. Hugo, thanks for your attentiveness. Minus one star due to the inoperative AC. read more

I want to start by saying I really enjoy this place. Most of the time. I have never had a bad meal here. I was highly disappointed in them last night though. We were kicking off out 1st vacation in awhile, My family and I make the over 40 minute drive to eat hear several times a year. And after making the drive last night, being seated, and ordinary a few apps. We were told when me made our order that they were not offer their Taco Tuesday specials because if St. Patty's day. We were all very disappointed. It was the only reason we went last night. We honestly felt trapped because of how far we had traveled to enjoy the special. We decided to stay but the mood was definitely different. Unfortunately for me amd my family the experience was basically ruined. It will probably be a very long time before we make the trek again. Please Sonrisa do better. No reason not to offer Taco Tuesday on St. Patty's day. read more

The DJ killed it. He played Taylor Swift for us. The avocado rolls and the taquitos are delicious and the margaritas are strong. Would recommend!!!!!!! read more

Where is traveling that this place is going out of business so maybe the absolute decline and quality of food and menu choices is because of that. The prices were outrageous. The food is probably frozen and reheated. Pretty much un edible. The salsa has changed and taste terrible. They are so cheap by putting a handful of chips in a big bowl and then charge you if you want a refill. The bartender makes horrible drinks. But the server was super nice but very slow. They should just pack it up and move out so we can get a better place out there. read more

Super cute place. First time out to lake Las Vegas and Sonrisa Grill was fantastic. The patio has a lake view and they had a DJ playing music. It was good overall. We had nachos and chicken taquitos from the appetizer menu. The rest of the menu seemed pricey to the portion of the food they were bringing out of the kitchen, so we went with the share option. The nachos were small, and the flavor was okay. it could use a bit more spice. The chicken taquito wasn't for me, more cheese than chicken. The dips were the highlight of the evening. Queso was my favorite and fresh guacamole. Service was normal for a restaurant minus the feeling of being rushed to order, etc. Overwhelming for sure when a menu is big. The environment was fine. We went around 6pm and it wasn't busy, lots of families. read more

We are locals to Lake Las Vegas, and Sonrisa Grill has been a fan favorite of ours for the past three years. It is always a festive atmosphere, with strong, delicious drinks, hearty food with good portions, and a DJ on occasion.
