Extremely inconsiderate staff when it comes to customer service. They are the only restaurant in the village and one of a few in the valley that doesn't allow dogs on their patio. Even 5 star restaurants on the strip allow dogs. Especially small lap dogs. Other than that it's a nice restaurant but loses out on so many more customers that would go there if they just realized how many locals have and bring their small dogs with them. We were attending a Dance Competition over the past weekend- Jan14, 2026 on Valentine's Day. I felt really bad for the staff at every restaurant and vendor since it was quite obvious that the communication between the Venue at the Hilton did not notify any of the local surrounding businesses that this huge competition was going on over the weekend. The businesses were not anticipating this event and were totally understaffed. Elissa Kehoe, the new general manger at Sonrisa Grill went over and beyond to see to our needs. She had her whole staff working tables, not just the servers. They all pitched in and were polite and smiled while doing more than their jobs Elissa was very accomodating and proficient. I just wanted to commend her and her staff that were there (even under the circumstances) made effort to see to their customers needs. Kudos to you Elissa! We came in for Mother's Day lunch the day before mother's day and the service from MAYRA WAS AMAZING!! There's both inside and outside seating. Inside is very festive, with mariachi music playing. Not too loud that you can't hear each other speak though. Food was DELISH . Chips and salsa was wonderful . Chips perfectly salted!I ordered a shredded beef chimichanga with green sauce on top and a side of guacamole. Another ordered flautas and said they were AMAZING! The cheese and chicken enchiladas I was told were wonderful as well. The rice and beans on the side were seasoned too perfection as well. Lastly.... Don't forget to get your margarita! Sunrisa grill is one of my favorite authentic Mexican restaurants with great prices. So much energy here! I love sitting on the patio especially when the weather is nice. They always have good music playing or a DJ is playing here especially on the weekends. Some of my favorite dishes here are the tacos, enchiladas with the green sauce, tostada salad, tamales, and Camarones Al mojo De Ajo. For dessert you have to try the Flan! It's amazing' For a drink my go to is The sangria it's delicious. If you come during Happy Hour Mon-Thur from 3-6 the Sangria is only $6. I want to start by saying I really enjoy this place. Most of the time. I have never had a bad meal here. I was highly disappointed in them last night though. We were kicking off out 1st vacation in awhile, My family and I make the over 40 minute drive to eat hear several times a year. And after making the drive last night, being seated, and ordinary a few apps. We were told when me made our order that they were not offer their Taco Tuesday specials because if St. Patty's day. We were all very disappointed. It was the only reason we went last night. We honestly felt trapped because of how far we had traveled to enjoy the special. We decided to stay but the mood was definitely different. Unfortunately for me amd my family the experience was basically ruined. It will probably be a very long time before we make the trek again. I firmly believe this is the best restaurant in lake Las Vegas. Love coming here to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy excellent Mexican cuisine. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but if you can try your hardest to sit on the outdoor patio. They offer daily specials on drinks, appetizers, and on Tuesday an all you can eat taco course! I went with the enchiladas and opted for one pork and one beef. Everything was so delicious from the refried beans to the complimentary chips and salsa. This is nice Mexican restaurant basically on the grounds of the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa where I stayed and a Mexican food lunch was what I was feeling. They have a great location with window views of the lake. To start off with the chips were very colorful, exciting and exactly what you'd expect. However the salsa was not as tasty as I'm used to with my salsas. I added some salt and that helped but still not there. In the spirit of a Mexican lunch I got a virgin Bloody Mary ($6.00) and it is one of the best I'm had - just look at the picture of it. For lunch I got 2 cheese enchiladas ($14.95) that came with rice & beans and they were pretty good. The real show stopper was the in-house made flan! ($6.95) Not only was it delicious but this was the most beautiful presentation of flan that I've ever seen. I wish the salsa had that kick that I like, but overall this was a nice restaurant in a great location for a Saturday lunch. read more

I always have a good time here, Whether it is sitting in the brightly colored dining room or the beautiful patio on a sunny day; you really can't go wrong. The servers are always nice and answer any questions if you have them. The food, while good, is not really much to write home about. It is your typical Americanized Mexican food, which definitely isn't a fault against Sonrisa Grill, it just is what it is. I would come here for a nice meal and some fresh chips and salsa but nothing too authentic. The food here is a good size so after plenty of chips, a margarita, and your main, you will have to waddle some calories off around Lake Las Vegas. When I last came here I got a coconut margarita and a smothered pork burrito, both of which definitely did the trick for me that Saturday afternoon! read more

This was probably the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered carne asada tacos and got wet lettuce. There was barely any meat in the tacos. They were pulled high with washed soaking wet lettuce and bland tomatoes. The tortillas were drenched in oil. I feel like they soaked them in hot oil to heat them but were icy cold by the time they reached the table. My plate had a river of water and oil. The staff was nice for the most part but seemed upset because we didn't enjoy the nasty food. At this point we didn't order anything else, don't want spit in my food. I would not recommend the food to anyone. The restaurant is obviously beautiful and in such a prime location. Sooo much potential failed. read more

Sonrisa Grill was the first restaurant we ate at in the village when arriving for our Lake Las Vegas getaway, and our experience here set a perfect tone for the rest of our stay. The food had all the traditional Mexican flavors we love, including spicy salsa, wholesome tortillas and beans, and flavorful meats. The basket of three types of tortilla chips started the meal off with a five star expectation. And the cantina salsa paired beautifully with them. Sonrisa makes you feel like you're walking right into a traditional atmospheric Mexican restaurant that you'll find in Mexico, right when you walk in the door. Our server Edna greeted us immediately, and was attentive, personable, and friendly throughout. The bell hanging on the side of the front door was a nice touch with a sign to ring it for receiving excellent service. Needless to say, we rang the bell upon leaving. Terrible service. Terrible communication. Made promises and the manager didn't follow through. FOOD IS VERY MID and OVER PRICED. Also, If they make a mistake, you still end up paying for their bad service. After bringing out the wrong meal, they tried to convince the person to keep it - they didn't. Restaurant was beautiful and had plenty of seats. Went on a quieter night so it was a great night to eat outside. However the service was really slow and there were a few staff members just standing around. It didn't make sense to me. Food was okay, nothing to brag about. We had a Carne Asada Salad , Shrimp Cocktail, Tuna Tartare, Chicken Fajitas, and the three of the kids meals. The soup had avocado and sourcream in it. My kids loved their kids meal. When the salsa and chips are great the rest of the food is even more delicious. I purchased the chimichanga that was packed with cheddar cheese and shredded Chicken and smothered enchilada style in red and green sauce! It truly was amazing and words can not describe the taste of cilantro, green peppers mixed with sour cream and avocado! The outside sitting area over looking the lake and perfect temperature made an amazing day date. I can only imagine what the night time atmosphere looks and feels like! I live in Henderson but I do not usually venture to Lake Las Vegas. I think Lake Las Vegas is a nice place to stroll at. We actually saw a pack of coyote on the street. While we were walking around, we got hungry and stop at this Mexican restaurant. It appears to be popular stop. We went after lunch around 130pm and they were still pretty busy. But we were seated right away and the service is good. The food is good as well. For yelpers, there is a 50% off their margarita on the rocks if you check in. I also noticed that they have AYCE every Tuesdays. They have all you can eat taco Tuesdays. I definitely I will come back here on a Tuesday. I get you want to create a party atmosphere but it was early in the evening and we just wanted to relax after just getting off the plane. The food was okay. Vanessa and Mayra made sure to personalize my experience by politely showing interest in my life (military). Attended to every need almost immediately. Vanessa seamlessly attended both inside and outside tables. Most people sat outside due to the beautiful view. The inside was saturated in all things valued by Mexico, down to the art and colors. The food tasted fresh, and some of the ingredients were imported directly from Mexico. I had an amazing experience. I came not knowing what to expect and left planning my next return. Where is traveling that this place is going out of business so maybe the absolute decline and quality of food and menu choices is because of that. The prices were outrageous. The food is probably frozen and reheated. Pretty much un edible. The salsa has changed and taste terrible. Where do I start? caveat emptor There are two types of restaurants in markets like Las Vegas. Those that are in the community and service the community. Then there are those that are tourist facing and those are their guests. Both serve a great purpose, but the problem with the tourism platform, you don't rely on return business so you build your business on instant gratification and not in brand loyalty. I'll give you an example. Me: I'd like a house margarita Our server: eh... Me: no? Our server: the house tequila is garbage. You won't like that. Me: fine, all take the upgrade Our server: good idea. My wife: I'd like the red wine sangria. Our server: really? My wife: no? Our server: Try the white, it's so much sweeter. My wife: ok We then looked at the happy hour menu that they pushed on us, and saw that my margarita was now not reduced at all because of the upgraded tequila, but her sangria is , so that's fine. Ok, whatever. My margarita was garbage, and he sangria was a 2 out of 5. So when she returned we ordered a house margarita and red sangria. Our server said "are you sure?" To both of those ordered and then explained to my wife that the original white wine one was not on happy hour. See attached flyer. A perfect bait and switch. I can go on and on, but I think. You get it. The food was a 3.0 for us, but the whole interaction with us ruined any chance we'll go back or recommend the place to anyone.
