I ordered food from here for delivery so I can't comment on the actual service or ambiance or anything of that sort, just the food. I tried the Sonoran hot dog which was quite tasty. Not too big, I probably could've eaten two no problem. I also got the pineapple raspado, and then in the app it said I could add another fruit so I picked mango. My raspado only had mango on it, no pineapple. It was pretty bizarre but it still tasted good. Again, I wasn't there in person to say something and didn't end up complaining on the app since it was still yummy, just not what I actually ordered. This place used to be good. I went today and I got a raspado and asked for saladitos to be added to my mangoyada and they poured the saladito crumbs along with the saladito so it made my raspado super salty and I feel like this happens a lot. They just don't care anymore. read more

Stopped here while on a local food tour and I never knew this place existed. The tour guide ordered a Sonoran hotdog for everyone on the tour without ketchup. I've never seen a Sonoran hotdog served with ketchup so I'm glad she ordered without it. I was surprised at how good it was. The bacon was nice and crispy, roll was soft and fresh, and it had the perfect amount of toppings. I was missing the jalapeno sauce that most places put on it. I did a quick drive-by stop to pick up Mangoyada. It was my first time trying this. I wanted to compare it to our version in Texas called a Mangonada. If you have tasted a mangonada, then you would spot the difference. It is good in its own way. I describe it as a snow cone with fruit topping and pieces of Mexican candy. The Mexican candy is supposed to be soft, but it hardens with the ice. I would be careful because some are super hard. You will need a spoon and a straw to finish your cup. This place also sells other items, but I did not try them. They do have parking on site. read more

Phoenix native and I have been trying to find a place that sells good corn. So far no luck. The coctel de elote here tastes too much of lime. There was no chili powder, all liquid. Super odd coming from Phoenix and they make them differently. The other disappointing thing was the banana split. Pretty good raspados. Good tacos. All very affordable. I got 3 tacos and one medium raspado with ice cream and lechera (add ons), and it was $11 for my meal. They have a wide variety of desserts, so you can pick and choose what you want and add your own favorites to anything. They also have a menu of food - tacos, quesadillas, Sonoran dogs, things like that. The tacos are good, you can pick corn or flour tortillas. I chose corn tortillas and they were pretty tiny. 2-3 bites per taco, and kinda greasy. I will say the quality of the desserts is hit or miss. One day there will be a giant scoop of ice cream, another day it'll be like half a scoop. But I'm not too picky, so I don't mind all that much. If you haven't treated yourself to a raspado post hike at Tumamoc then you're doing it wrong. The mangoyada (vegan!) is super refreshing and thirst quenching. It's drenched with chamoy, a pungent pickled fruit sauce, and topped with a combination of mangos, tamarind, and peanuts. I've been many times, so I'll give them a pass this time, but they forgot peanuts during my last visit. Just a heads up and be sure to check for peanuts. I've found that the regular/medium size is the best in terms of the ratio of toppings. read more

Authentic Spanish food. I chose Tacos (2 chicken, 1steak). Flavorful and such high quality meat. Saw this on the food network and had to try. I tried the mango shaved ice which was great both spicy and sweet. Highly recommend checking this place out. read more

Just came to this place for lunch and it was baaad! I originally ordered a Sonoran hot dog with French fries, and a coctel de elote. To start the cashier was rude and had a less than ideal or polite (happy you're purchasing from her establishment) attitude and advised me that her fryer wasn't on when I decided to order the hot dog combo that comes with fries. I asked her how long would it take and she said 15-20 minutes and considering I wanted them, I agreed to wait. My coctel of elote came first as expected and it was not good. Minimal elote and it just didn't taste like much effort was put in it. Surprisingly, my hot dog (by itself) was next which automatically annoyed me because why couldn't they serve it with my fries? Did they not think if I ordered the combo that I would want to eat them simultaneously? Nice. Now I had to wait for my fries and eat a cold hot dog. Ok. I waited and waited, fries never came. I went up to the cashier and when I asked for my fries she instantly proceeds to say "I didn't charge you." I hadn't noticed that. Besides all, it was her one and only job...to take my order, so why didn't she charge me after I had agreed to wait? Instead of apologizing for the mishap, she continued to say "but I didn't charge you." She followed up with saying "we never turned on our fryer" when I asked her if she could make my order promptly considering the mishap. Mind you, her having her fryer off was the initial reason why she said I'd have to wait. Who waits for a customer's order to turn on their fryer in an established restaurant business?! Ridiculous! Lastly, besides eating a cold Sonoran dog, the bun was stale and hard. I'm sure this was due to age rather than it being cold. Never coming back and neither should you! read more

Looking for that authentic hole in the wall Mexican shop? Look no more! Might not really look like much, but there are hundreds of different things on the menu and combinations you can request (even if its not necessarily written on the menu). We ordered 3 tacos: Barbacoa, carne asada, and al pastor. All of them were delicious, but my favorite was the al pastor. It was juicy and packed a nice kick to it. We also ordered a bag of Tosti's with cheese and al pastor meat inside. We loaded it with pretty much everything in the cart next to the cashier (lettuce, lime, salsa, etc.) Oh my Lord, if you are going to get it, it comes piping hot! This is SOO filling, but I recommend that you eat this right away or else the cheese makes the chips all soggy at the bottom. Lastly, we got The Macedonia. Its basically ice cream with any type of toppings you could ask on it. We got mango, peach, strawberries, and pears. (I know pears...but it actually gave it a nice crunch texture!) This was by far my favorite. If I don't come back here for the food, I know I'll be craving this in the hot Tucson summer months. Sonoran Delights is a great place to get some sweet desserts. Don't expect good interior or atmosphere but expect great desserts at a good price. Their raspados are one of the best in town. Highly recommend to add lechera (condensed milk) to raspados. My personal favourite is mango raspados. Macedonia and Banana splits are delicious here too. read more

Yup, and you'll find it strangely addicting and guiltily delicious. We were listening to LA's KCRW's good food podcast on our drive to AZ and they had mentioned Tostilocos. I yelped Tostiloco's and of course in Mexican centric Tucson many options popped up. We headed over to Sonoran Delights and wracked our brains over their menu. There were so many options! Tosti-Bombs, Tosti-chukis, Tosti-elote, Tosti-verdura, Tosti-nachos, Tosti-tropical. They all sounded delicious. We asked for help from the guy behind the counter and he recommended we get the Tosti-loco. The tosti-loco features: *salsa verde Tostitos-bag said made in Mexico *finely shredded cabbage *diced cucumber *diced jicama *clamato juice *cacauhetes-Japanese soy covered peanuts which were sweet and salty *ruelto- chubby,chewy,stubby tamarind candy sticks *chamoy-a sweet tamarind based sauce *fresh squeeze of Mexican lime. The Tostiloco bag is cut open length wise, everything is dumped inside, lime is squeezed over it and you are handed forks to eat everything directly out of the bag. You peer inside and can't help but think that this is totally stoner food. It resembles a salad that's not quite junk food laden. Who in the world thought up this combo of ingredients? According to the Good Food podcast this combo evolved as the Mexican street food vendors tried to think of things that they could easily, cheaply, combine for quick on the go eats. Crunchy, salty, sweet, soft, chewy, sour, spicy, zingy and fresh. You will experience all these things while eating your Tostiloco. It satisfies so many aspects of tasty food lore. You are in disbelief that your taste buds will enjoy such a concoction until you look down at your bag and there's nothing left. read more

A friend decided to stop in here for some raspados I was along for the ride, and I have never been happier to be along for the ride! This is a very quant little shop. Looks like your run of the mill Los betos type place. But then you get your order! Oh my god, so fresh so perfectly arranged and flavors that just work! I would have never thought of mixing cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries, peaches, with ice cream, condensed milk and pecans! The out come was beautiful in every respect! Sonoran Delights is my new happy place. Tacos, raspados, and Mexican junk food all in one place. Tacos are very simple-don't come here expecting fancy, sexed-up tacos. Tacos consist of a) tortilla, b) meat, and c) simple toppings (mostly onion). Salsa bar is self-serve-the bright red salsa is my favorite and seems to go with everything. Not a lot of places in Tucson have tripas tacos so I'm happy to see that this place does. Those are my favorite-with chicharron being a close second. Cholesterol overload? Of course, but worth it. The variety of Mexican junk food is intense. The first time I came here it took a while to decide. Majority of items are Tostitos based-as in Tostitos topped with other stuff. My favorite is the tosti-verdura: Tostitos topped with cabbage and cucumber and drizzled with chamoy, lime, and chile. I like to pretend I'm eating salad when I order this. My brother ordered this Japanese peanut concoction with clamato juice and pickles that was dee-licious! The raspados are also great. I love that Tucson raspados are so different from the ones in my primarily Mexican hometown in Texas. I never would have thought to add ice cream, condensed milk, and real fruit to raspados. Tucson knows what's up-these raspados are much better than what I am used to. Keep in mind that this place is tiny and veeeery hole-in-the wall. I hadn't been here in quite a while. After an unpleasant experience where we left without eating due to poor service at the expensive restaurant down the street, my wife and I stopped in here. It was a good choice. The carne asada is excellent as are the tacos dorados. My wife ordered the Sunday special goat stew, but they were out. She loved her pollo taco and burrito though. In a truly special gesture that's all too rare these days, they gave her a cup of the broth from the goat stew just so she could get a taste. It was a smart move too, since she can't stop talking about how we have to get there earlier next Sunday before they run out.
