Really wanted to stick to the local spots but this place rubbed my family the wrong way. They have cameras all over the place, inside the exam rooms. I get why, that's not the issue. The issues are.. one they won't accept shots given from tractor supply because they didn't witness them given $$, (okayyyyy) 2. there's a whole APPLICATION process! You have to be "accepted" as patients! 3. On top of it, you mention ask for a military discount, the lady with the tattoo on the back of her neck that appears to be running the front end looks at you sideways and says, "well we would have to give the elderly discounts too at that point!" The place had bird poop all over the front entry way on the outside. Make sure you know it will be a "trial appointment" your first visit there to see if you are a good fit for them as patients. 4. They also charge you an administration fee every time you go! Never heard of that before! 5. expect a good wait in the smallish waiting area with your dog. We don't recommend this facility with the gravel parking lot and rude lady upfront. Jasmin was very kind, but the other lady... Had our first visit last week with Dr. Wise. She is very sweet and thorough. All of my questions were answered and I honestly felt like she cares about my dogs. The front staff is very nice too. We did have to wait about 35 minutes after our appointment time but it was not too bad. The prices are reasonable too. read more

RUN. Don't waste your time here. It took three days to communicate with front desk staff. In my opinion, they must care about money not people or animals They require all your pets to go to their office. Strange. I have had pets my whole life. I have never had this experience even if, " it is common in the area." I bet most people lie to this office. I could have easily said my new kitten is my only pet. How would the office know? I didn't because I intended to eventually switch my pets to this vet. I am glad they showed their true stipes before I paid them a dime. I have had horrible vet experiences in the past. I saw a few negative reviews and the lower ratings for this place, so I was very hesitant to bring my animals here. I decided to do it because it was the only vet in town that could get me what I needed when I needed it. I'm glad that it worked out the way it did because I have had such a positive experience here. The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. My dog was excited to see the nurse and was just as happy when I picked him up, which tells me they treated him well. Last but not least, the doctor seemed very careful in making sure the paperwork I needed was filled out correctly. She stayed in contact with me throughout the entire process and worked with me on changing timelines. read more

I'm a little late in posting this. I called not too long before closing and they got me in right away. My Pomeranian decided to take a bite out of a log for the fire. She had a piece stuck in her mouth. They took her back quickly. The ladies in the front were all very nice. Dr. Wise was able to get it out without sedating her which would have cost much more and she would've had to stay the night because of the time. So I was very appreciative of that. Also she came out and showed me the piece she got out and talked to me! That was very nice. So I will be taking my Poms there for sure. I was impressed with the doctor and the staff! read more

I absolutely love Sonora Veterinary Group, Dr. Bennett and all of his staff! My little girl Kitty, Lola, has been his patient since she was a 8 week old kitten. She is now 15, and if it were not for Dr Bennett and his team of professional, caring staff, she would have died earlier this year, from dehydration and starvation which lead to kidney disease, after I made the HUGE mistake of leaving her with incompetent pet sitters while I went on an extended vacation and they neglected her terribly. Dr. Bennett could see how much I care for my baby girl and has gone above and beyond to help heal her and extend her life. She has been in and out of their facility on numerous, extended stays since, to be treated for her kidney disease, and she is still living a happy life more than 6 months later! Thank you Dr. Bennett and staff for all you have done for Lola, we are both forever grateful! I highly recommend anybody looking for a caring, competent veterinary team to look no further than Sonora Veterinary Group. Your pet will be in great hands! These people are stupid. Tried to make an appt for my kitten that has never seen a vet but they wouldn't accept him as a patient bc my dog sees a different vet. My dog had been going to a different vet for 12 years and i love them it's just more convient and closer to me to change vets but these dumb people started talking about "being in competition " and weird shit. They do everything they can to make our dogs comfortable and healthy. I came to this Vet when my regular vet could not see my special-needs cat when she was not feeling well. From the very beginning, the front desk staff was more than helpful and accommodating and got my little cat in for a same day appointment. Not only were they able to see her but, the doctor was able to perform All of the diagnostic tests that would help get us to a resolution. After each part of the procedure, the doctor would call me and fill me in and ask if we'd like to proceed and then let me know when she was waking up at the end and kept her overnight since she was not doing well. I got an update when I called and was able to have a difficult conversation with the doctor a little bit later. The doctor was so communicative and the techs and front desk staff are so kind. Unfortunately, my story does not have a happy ending but, the doctor helped us figure out that my baby was very sick and was completely understanding, with either choice that I made. On top of that, The people they serve are incredibly kind, as well. I was oozing grief and was given support by strangers who understood. I am planning on transferring the rest of my cats to their care because I have faith that they will take the best care of them and understand that the animals's human knows when there is something wrong with their animal. read more

This is a wonderful office with amazing veterinarians and staff. I moved from Sonora to the Bay Area and still drove my little Yorkie up for any surgeries or dentals. Only vet I trusted with him. Our lab ended up with an eye injury and I took him to two local vets here in the Bay Area that were unable to help him. I brought him up to Sonora and with one look, they knew exactly what was wrong and saved my dogs eye. I love this office and would make the 2 and a half hour drive so that my fur babies get the best of care. read more

I LOVE LOVE THIS GROUP of "animal treating" Angel's. I have pups. Three at the moment. Dr. Hodson is just amazing, compassionate, passionate, knowledgeable. Phenomenal person professionally and personally. Her mentor Dr. Benett is equally as awesome and has coached her well. Truthfully, the entire staff both front end and back end are easy to work with at all times. I have had trying moments with my pets health, have laid pets to rest, and just come in with the regular loving check up and maintenance of my sweet pups. This group truly cares. I've actually never been seen at the office. I called over asking if they were accepting new clients and was told "yes, they are doing their best". If I wanted to be seen there, I would have to have to send over my dog's records from previous vet. They took all the info down for my 4 dogs explained to me how they would require a deposit at first visit, that's what they do when taking on new clients. I have previous vet send records for my 4 dogs. I'm now just waiting on them to call to set up appointments as that's what I was told would take place once they received my pet's records. Knowing that I have now cancelled my services with my previous vet, I get a vm saying that they are not seeing any new patients until the first of the year BUT they are NOT taking on new patients at this time!!! Like WHAT?? OK, I honestly don't care how soon they can make an appointment it's completely irrelevant. I ask why would you waste my time and yours if you're not taking new patients? Why go thru all the motions? What do you mean the vet decides at the time she gets the records? What is she basing this completely lame reason on. The receptionist basically just stumbles over who explanation with a lot of umm, and uh and i don't really knows. Maybe because thankfully my dogs are healthy, she decides no money in taking on 4 dogs. WHO KNOWS? I FEEL LIKE THIS WAS HANDLED SO COMPLETLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND NOT GIVING AF THAT I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR TURNING DOWN MY DOGS. SO RIDICULOUS WHAT A JOKE. read more

5 stars for the Worst non-sympathic, non-caring, Vet I have ever met. As an out-of-towner I took my, in-pain 20 yr old cat, to Sonora Vets. I asked for some help to relieve her pain. Perhaps a suggestion and a look-see,. I had my cat in-hand in the reception area.. They told me they'd have to test her and a $250 deposit on an itemized $800 would be needed. Frankly, I do not make that amount in a month. OK...then they suggested driving 100 miles to an Emergency Vet. Really?!! To put this in perspective...I found another Sonora Vet who looked at my cat, made an assessment, took action, gave an antibiotic....all for a total of $40. Now that Vet is a real Vet, who is caring. read more

LOVE this VET! As new puppy owners we started out with another vet in town and was not very pleased. Our puppy came down with a interesting ear problem. I called Sonora Vet and was able to get her in the next day. I was so pleased with the care from the minute they answered the phone. Amy that works up front was so compassionate and defiantly knows what she is doing. They ALL made me feel so comfortable and were all so knowledgeable .They do require a deposit ( not a bad thing in my opinion) But because I took my cat there 14 years ago for a spay they didn't charge me a enormous fee. And the deposit was used towards the bill. Dr Tara Bogolea-Hodson was excellent! When we picked up our dog she pulled us in a room and talked to us for approx. 30 minutes about what was wrong with our dog and went over instructions. The previous vet DID NOT do that any of the all the times we went there. I will defiantly be taking my pets to them for now on. They do not rip you off either they are very good about making sure your dog is taken care of and not charge you for every little thing. read more

Recently moved to the area and had heard nothing but good things about Sonora vet group. We have four dogs that are basically our children. We got all of our dogs in to establish care with Dr. Hodson. Everyone was very nice and our dogs were noticeably at ease with all the staff. Dr. Hodson took the time to get to know all our pups as well as us and explained everything very thoroughly. In comparison to our old vet in a small town of Arizona we felt that the prices were very reasonable at Sonora vet group. Ironically a few days after establishing care our golden retriever started having drainage from a mass on her back that we already knew would have to be surgically removed at some point. We were able to drop her off at the office the next day and after evaluation we opted to have the surgery. They were able to fit her in that day! My husband and I are both are ER nurses and have seen our fair share of sutures, we were both impressed at the beautiful suturing of the wounds. It was very obvious to us that Bella was well taken care of during her stay, she was back to her old self almost immediately and a week out from surgery she is doing wonderfully! We feel so lucky to have found such a great vet! read more

I recommend this place with the highest 5 star, for being there and helping me with my Luci. No other veterinarians in Central California could figure out what was wrong with Luci, but the vet and the Staff are just wonderful and loving. I would not trust another vet now, not after the work and time it took to get her where she is at! Called when my puppy had eaten some thing he should not have . They wanted $300 when I brought him in .Said diagnostics would be around $600 and if he needed surgery it would be $1000 to $1200 and up ! Of that`s fine . But refused to take payment ! They were perfectly willing to let him die rather than taking $300 then payments !! read more
