Enchiladas
Larry B.

I keep telling myself that I am never going back. Well tonight was the final straw. We will never go back. I ordered the beef enchiladas and my wife ordered the shrimp fajitas both dishes were terrible. My beef was chicken snd her fajitas were served on a cold plate. See photos. We told our server and she said oh well. Can you believe it. If you are considering this establishment. All I can say is DON'T. Poor service and terrible food. I am sure with their don't care attitude, they never read their reviews. Never been to a Mexican restaurant that charges $4.50 for chips and salsa

Basic burrito w shredded beef

WOW. This place is so cozy and hit the Mexican vibes spot on! The service was nice, nothing over the top but the food!!! Excellent. Legitimate Mexican flavors! The rice was perfect in flavor and texture. I got flautas, they come only in shredded chicken, they were absolutely delicious. My husband got the burrito and it had two diff salsas on each side, red on one half and green on the other. Amazing. We also got esquites for out appetizer, great taste. When we arrived it was a 25 minute wait on a Friday 330pm. I suggest making reservations ahead of time. It wasn't too bad, we took a stroll around all the shops while we waited. It's no wonder it's busy, the food is soooo good!

Nothing to eat

Came for a work lunch, it's been 50 minutes and I've gotten water and chips. We were required to pre-order so they've had our orders weeks in advance. Food here is meh at best anyway.

The Sonora grill is very inviting with wood beams and exposed ceiling. I went for lunch and it was pretty quiet. I got the carne asada plate. I get the flank / skirt steak is a chewier cut of meat but man was it tough to chew. There were quite a few pieces I had to unfortunately spit out. The guacamole was brown on top and the steak was cold and lacked flavor. The rice had good flavor. The waiter was attentive and friendly. Good atmosphere. Nice waitstaff but the food was not that good. It definitely looked better than it tasted. A bit disappointing. And you have to pay for chips and salsa which IMO is a crime lol

This was a nice surprise. We were looking for a place to eat in Ogden because we had an appointment up here, so we just looked for restaurants in the area. This one was one of the first to come up. And they have a pretty big selection of vegan items, which was awesome for my friend. The staff were very friendly! The food was delicious! And it is located in a really nice neighborhood! A lot of restaurants and stores close by. Even a movies theater. We are planning on a return visit next time we are in town.

Fresca Margarita

Margarita was the best one I've had in a long time. I tried the Fresca and it really was so fresh. Also got the tortilla salad which was OK - got soggy fast. My boyfriend loved the chimichanga and said it was the best he's had. The shell was so crispy. Overall very good and a pleasant surprise!

Shrimp Chile Relleno

I was up in Ogden about a month ago for work and we decided on this restaurant for lunch. We were able to get in very quickly which was great! As you enter the establishment, the interior is warm and welcoming, but seems a little confused. It feels like they're trying to achieve a modern Mexican influenced upscale restaurant, but there are some industrial elements that seem a bit out of place (especially considering that the ceiling is comprised of completely exposed ductwork). The service was okay! Because of the time of day it was when we went, it was relatively busy so we didn't get the most genuinely interested or engaged interactions with our server, but she was fairly speedy! Regarding the food, I wouldn't suggest what I got if you're looking for authenticity. I ordered the Shrimp Chile Relleno and while a Chile relleno is consistently a favorite dish I enjoy ordering at Mexican restaurants, this was like the distant cousin of a Chile relleno. When I looked up other photos from reviews that had a chile relleno, I very quickly learned that the shrimp chile relleno does not appear to be battered in the same way. The batter around the chile had a flakier texture and crumbled off very easily. Also, the cheese inside was very surprising - it lacked any cheese pull abilities! In fact, it quite possibly seemed to be a cream cheese consistency within which was somewhat off-putting texturally. Overall, the flavor was okay; I would definitely consider it a miss as far as giving you the same flavors as a normal Chile relleno would, and I don't think this was due to any of the flavor influence from the shrimp. Considering the whole experience, it sufficed for a quick work lunch, but pivoted from delivering authenticity with the meal.

Ceviche sampler is out of a horror movie. Swordfish and pineapple in a sweet milky stew? Has chef ever even had Mexican food?

Ah we love Sonora grill! The fresh salsa itself is a reason enough to go. The guac is made fresh to order and a must get for sure.

A birthday surprise I'll never forget!…read more This restaurant came highly recommended by a former employee, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment we sat down, everything impressed us. I tried a mezcal cocktail for the first time, the blueberry mezcal, and it was incredibly unique, smoky, slightly sweet, and just overall delicious. For food, we ordered the corn, poblano tamales, and the chorizo steak burrito. Every bite was packed with flavor. Portions were generous, so much so that we ended up taking leftovers home (always a good sign!). But the true highlight of the evening? The birthday celebration. Our waitress asked if we were celebrating anything, and I casually mentioned a birthday at the end of the month. She smiled and said, "Leave the rest to me." I had no idea what was coming... Suddenly, the entire bar lit up? iterally. Flames shot up like a volcano erupting, the staff came out with fire, bubbles, and this incredible energy. It felt like a full-on performance. Then came a rich chocolate cake soaked in liqueur that was just as dramatic as it was delicious. It wasn't just dinner, it was an experience. If you're looking for amazing food, creative drinks, and unforgettable celebrations, this place delivers on all of it. We'll definately be back.

For a second I wondered if they were closed, but someone eventually came out and seated me. That initial vibe had me a bit concerned, but I stuck it out. I started with the chips, corn, and guacamole, which was decent, nothing mind-blowing but fresh enough and got the job done. The Cadillac Margarita ($20) was a disappointment though. It was basically a glass of ice with way too much lime juice dominating everything; I could barely taste the tequila. The Michelada was better, solid and refreshing, and the service was about the same: friendly and attentive enough once they got going, but nothing standout. But holy smokes, that asada stuffed burrito saved the whole meal. The asada was ridiculously tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Juicy, smoky, melt-in-your-mouth beef wrapped in a solid burrito. That one item alone made me glad I came. Overall, the place has some hits and misses. If the asada is what you're after, it's worth it. Just maybe skip the Cadillac marg and don't expect a lively atmosphere on a slow night. I'd go back for the burrito.

One odd thing--they use table clothes but then put paper on top. This felt a bit off for the fancy atmosphere they were trying to create. We had lots of delicious food. Our meal started off with the Daily Bread & Butter and Caesar. Both paired well together. For entrees, I had the Wagyu Zabuton, which was cooked well and was paired with flavorful sides. My husband had the Lamb Chops, which were beautifully plated. All the cocktails were amazing, but my favorite was the Madam's Choice. They didn't do anything special for anniversaries, but it was fine because we were full of food and took the leftovers home. I'm excited to try this place for Sunday brunch next!

I had to wait what felt like an epoch for my delicious, chicken-y reward, and despite the size of the restaurant and relatively tame level of busy-ness, wait staff still took their sweet time and did not get bread out in a timely fashion. The ambiance is like 'millennial interior design final boss' - imagine being trapped within the pages of Magnolia Table, and everyone looks and sounds like the first Google results for 'hipster'. I wouldn't mention this if the smarminess of staff didn't compound the frustration of having to wait forever for like three pieces of bread. So, if you're in the area and have a refined palette that craves rich, delicious flavors against a backdrop of open French windows, I'd say go for it. The food definitely outcompetes the annoyance I felt. But seriously, get the chicken sandwich.
