My dog Coco loves it here. She gets so excited when we pull up to drop her off. Wonderful owners and staff. Highly recommended

Absolutely incredible dog camp! The staff is incredibly friendly! I love that they post photos of daily activities on their Instagram!

I set up an interview for my pup in advance and explained to the woman on the phone that my dog has been abandoned and has some anxiety at first. She said that was fine, and I scheduled a time for him to do two hours. He has done dog day care before and I explained that he will calm down after a little bit, he just needs to be engaged, and get used to his surroundings. The play pen is really a big cage, one of the dog care givers had a baby in his arms, and the other was pretty inactive. It felt as though they really didn't care about dogs, or being playful with dogs. The woman was more worried about the dogs barking than she was about reassuring my dog and engaging him. She didn't even go over to him to pet him, or introduce herself. This was all while I stood in the window and watched. Imagine what happens when no one is watching. So unless your dog is a mute statue, this is not the place. read more

My cheerful, friendly 4 month old puppy was bitten in the face yesterday by another dog at this place ! She has a puncture wound that required going to the vet. She is now on antibiotics snd may have permanent scarring . This is NOT a safe environment for all dogs ! The single play yard is full of 40 plus dogs, with no attempt to separate them according to temperament, size etc and the staffing is entirely inadequate to monitor them. I expected that the owner at least would call me after we went to the vet. He did not. When I contacted him today, he was defensive, took no responsibility for what occurred and was barely even apologetic. He did finally agree to pay the vet bill. I would NEVER take another dog to this 'camp' and advise anyone else to keep your dogs safe at home or at another of the options for daycare in Sonoma. read more

Fourty Advil, a wine glass, countless darling high heels, a loaf of Basque french bread, an entire cube of butter, underpants -- lots of underpants. No, these are not the ingredients for a risque, Wine Country rendezvous. It's the unusual dietary choices my sweet dog-child, Wyatt, makes in my absence. Sure, I used my calm-assertive, Dog Whisperer voice and took him on hours of walks. He's exuberant, I say. A monster, his Auntie Lou says -- lovingly, of course. So, this working mom set out to find a doggie daycare that would keep Wyatt from ingesting inedible items and tucker him out. An impossible task, I've found. The first thing that struck me about Sonoma Dog Camp was that it was expensive. Gasp! Almost $25 a day for watching a DOG! But then I did the math: ER trip for Advil ingestion, $1,000. High heels, $100s. Replacing drip irrigation, $100s. Avoiding embarrassment from bringing guests home and having Wyatt gleefully running through the house with my underpants, priceless. Wyatt passed his "try out," a free, two-hour test to see if he plays well with others, with flying colors, and he's been spending about one day a week at Sonoma Dog Camp ever since. He's always excited to go there and comes home tired. And the folks that run the camp are dolls. You can tell they're not just running a dog storage facility. They care about my dog-child. Sonoma Dog Camp is even aesthetically pleasing. It smells splendid in their shop, like pine. They've got tons of great toys and dog supplies. And there's lots of extra services, like a visiting vet and groooming, so you can seamlessly incorporate even the most "exuberant" dog into your life. read more

Sonoma Dog Camp is the best thing that ever happened to me and my dog. I tried a place outside of Sonoma, but they were overcrowded and not properly trained to handle dogs with a lot of energy. The employees here seem to love what they do, love the animals that come in and they follow through with keeping the animals calm and under control. Once the dogs are in the yard, they are free to play and romp all day with supervision and intervention, when/if needed. My dog is much more well behaved and loves having play days twice a week. The employees greet her with a smile and let me know how she does each time. There is definitely an in depth interview and trial session to be sure new dogs that come in will be a good fit. You are able to watch through the window during the initial introduction and it is easy to see they are very comfortable in the back area. They even bring out a small pool for extra hot weather. I highly recommend day care and overnight care at Sonoma Dog Camp. Your dog will love you even more if they get to come here :) read more

Sonoma Dog Camp - A day in the yard.  My little monkey is on the far right. - Pet Sitting Near Me - Sonoma, California

Leroy and Mabel love, love, love Sonoma Dog Camp! They've been 'campers' for over a year and still get all excited when we turn onto Broadway. Like the others have said, it's a dogs dream and an owners peace of mind - awesome facilities, one stop shop for food, toys and essentials but most importantly - loving, fully into dogs owners and staff. My Jack Russells go once a week and have spent up to 2 weeks when we've taken vacations and, honestly? I think they don't even miss us! That's ok with us - knowing they are safe, loved and taken care of (no cages/pens here!) is worth the world to us. We live in Napa but this is where I bring our pups. It's worth the drive, hands down. Even if you don't need the daycare, check out the store. Beautiful, unique doggy stuff and really reasonable prices (on par and sometimes less then the big name stores). Give yourself and your pup a treat-check out Sonoma Dog Camp! read more

An amazing place to take your dog for day and overnight stays. One on one care with lots of room to run and socialize. Your dog has to pass a test to be admitted and I know several owners who have been turned away. Thus insuring a terrific environment. read more

We LOVE Sonoma Dog Camp!! My little monkey isn't always the most easygoing, but everyone at SDC is always so friendly and warm. I feel very safe with my dog in their hands, which is so important. I recently started bringing my pup to the dog camp 1-2 days a week. She is a rescue and had displayed some signs of separation anxiety, plus I wasn't sure of her level of socialization. After a half hour conversation on the phone, I brought her in for an interview. I waited in the lobby and James came out a few times during her 1 hour play-test to share his observations and videos. He was thorough and kind in his explanations, but also critical (which was reassuring). She passed the test and has been a few times over the past few weeks. Every time I pick her up, they do a great job of sharing their observations of how she behaved during the day. The first day, she spent some time in the crate as she was adjusting (fine with me as it means they were really observing her and how she interacted with the other dogs), but now she spends most of the day playing and comes home cheerful and *exhausted*. Overall, I'm happy for my pup and so pleased to have such a great spot for her to stay during the day when I'm not around. read more

Sonoma Dog Camp has always gone above and beyond when it came to taking care of our dog. James and his staff are the best.

Sonoma Dog Camp is one of the best dog daycare places I've ever been to. Sue & James (the owners) are great and they totally take care of your dog and treat them like your babies. In addition to day care they offer grooming and vet visits. I recommend them to anyone. read more

We love Sonoma Dog Camp. Our dog Murray O. started here when he was 4 months old and had been a regular ever since - he is almost 3 years old now. They not only take care of our dog during the day but the staff is kind, considerate, professional and has a genuine concern about the dogs they care for. We had to delivery our son far away for heart condition and left our dog under their care. While we were gone, he had a bite and they not only called us to let us know what happened, but had already called the vet and had a plan before we talked to them. Our dog also has head tremors. Not only did they treat him with care and comfort, but they recorded it so we could show the vet. Dogs are family and I'm so glad we can count on Sonoma Dog Camp to treat our dog like family! And, as an extra bonus, James has frequent happy hours for the owners so we get to know each other. The other owners are great and his drinks are the best; Even in a place like Sonoma with good wine! We will miss them greatly and can only hope we find an organization just as good when we relocate to Seattle. Keep up the great work! read more

After a questionable experience taking my new pup, Athena to doggy day care in Napa, I contacted Sonoma Dog Camp. What a pleasant surprise. Very clean, open, bright space. The interview process was thorough and I could tell these guys knew what they were doing. Best of all my sweet puppy loves it there! So glad to have found them. Its nice to know she's well taken care of and having a good time! read more

My three dogs love SDC - great people, great place.

Wanted to see about getting my dogs bathed. I drove up to the store and I could see that there were people inside the store who could see I was standing outside. No one could be bothered to come to the door so I had to call them. When I called them they said "oh we can see you outside".If I want somebody to watch my dogs and they can't be bothered to come to the front door to talk to me then why would I want them to take care of my dogs. As it turns out the person who spoke to me sounded pretentious and they said my dog needed to have an evaluation before they would even consider boarding my dog. I find this attitude difficult to understand. They seem to not be very interested in customer service. I have two small King Charles Cavalier who are so sweet if you know the breed. I guess they are so busy they couldn't even ask what breed my dog was. I was just looking for the dogs to get a Bath but I am always looking for somebody to board them also. I wanted to warn others about the poor attitude here. read more
