When Lauren came by the house to meet me and the kitties - I was sold right away. Every cat came out from wherever they were in the house (including one who never comes out to see who's at the door) and were all over her, including my dog. She has an amazing communication with animals and she specializes in geriatric animals, and those with health issues - something that was very important to me. She is VERY thorough with understanding everything about each animal and the safety and security of the house as well. She is bonded, which was also a plus. I've used her services several times in the last almost two years. I totally trust her with the security of my house and my animals. They've literally been in better shape each time I've returned. She does Reiki on the ones having problems, and they just LOVE it. Literally, about a month ago, just hours before I was about to catch a plane to Hawaii - my old guy looked suddenly to be near death. He's 21 years old, and I just thought he had packed it in and there was nothing I could do for him before I was to leave. I called her late at night to let her know what the situation was. She helped me by phone to prepare his space for him to be as comfortable as he could be until she was there in the morning. I was so depressed and sad on the plane, and once I arrived I was afraid to call to find out what I knew would be bad news. When I did - she said amazingly, he was sitting up in his bed, ready to eat when she arrived. She gave him fluids everyother day, his meds, Reiki sessions, and everyday he improved - doing even better than he had been before I left! I am very particular about how my pets are treated as well as very concerned about the well-being and security of my house. Lauren is on top of it all - and, insists that you call her as soon as you arrive home, no matter what the time or she will consider you did not come home and she'll be back there to take care of things! She's had people she did not know about (turned out to be neighbors that I knew) come onto the property while I was away and she always scopes them out to be sure they're legit, and to let they know that she's there taking care of things. I feel completely confident in her abilities and her professionalism in leaving the most important things in my life in her hands when I'm away.

My dog Cherly was a homeless hound from Oklahoma who lived at the Big Dog Rescue for a year and a half of her life. Cheryl saved my girl and gave her a chance even though no one wanted her as she was one of their long term residents. This peaceful palace is a fully fenced sanctuary. Cheryl (the owner) and staff has put so much love and care into her passions. They dogs she's rehabilitated, the care they receive, they support they get. You have to be one lucky pup to be at the Big Dog. My dog loves coming back to the Big Dog for visits. She's super excited and happy. Cheryl wants to make sure her dogs are going to the home that is the perfect match. She will carefully screen as every rescue should do. I've read some of the 1 star reviews on here. And Cheryl is right, dogs are not ment to spend hours outside. What if it's hot? She is correct and has every right to be concerned where her dogs are placed. If you are not a good fit of she is not comfortable with your household, then I'm sure there is another match out there waiting for you to save them.

I filled up the application and I received a one-liner response: "he is gone". I asked for a different dog and the answer was "gone too". I believe my application was a disaster, because I had no clue of what you are supposed to do with a dog and I wrote what I thought we would do. After researching the topic, I can see why they would not consider us for adoption with that application ;-) However, I wrote back asking to speak with them to understand why they did not spend more than a second to reply (I was looking for some suggestions on if we are ok to adopt or if we should not even bother). They never answered. I guess they are great with dogs but have a problem with humans.
