Our Aussie comes to the shop regularly for his grooming and he never fails to come back looking supremely handsome. We are always so happy with the groomer's work and are always impressed by her attention to detail! The groomer is extremely attentive to our requests and mindful to our needs when we ask for a cut, making sure our pup is groomed exactly how we want. It's clear that she has a wonderful temperament with the dogs she works with (and I can only imagine she has to deal with some very challenging dogs and owners...). Groomingdales' prices feel totally reasonable for the service they provide, and I've seen other groomers in the area charge much more for the same kind of service. The great price and the better service make it a no-brainer for us to keep coming back here. Treat yourself and your pup to some wonderful grooming, and make sure you take advantage while you can. I'm sure it won't be long before it'll be hard to get appointments at a gem of a shop like this one!

There was only 1 lady working which is fine, but my dog resists nail trims as she doesn't like them. She took my dog to the other side of the fence at the front door and chained my dogs head to the fence. Let me explain. I completely understand needing to restrain the dog but she had my dogs head chained so tightly to the fence she couldn't move her neck at all. I was shocked and wasn't sure what to do at the moment. She started trimming my dogs nails and my dog started to freak out as she couldn't move her head and was panicking. My dog started yelping and crying so loud I had to walk out of the shop for a second to process I guess. I've never seen this before and I had no idea how to handle it. I could hear my dog started yelping and crying again and went back inside and told her to stop I don't want to do this anymore. I was in complete shock that she was willing to do all of that in front of me. I'd hate to know what they do when the owner isn't there. My dog now has really bad anxiety when she has to get her nails cut after that experience. I now take my dog to Classic Tails in Petaluma, the lady is great and my dog has never cried once going there.

Our experience: our dog is shy around people. Not aggressive, but avoidant. Saw a review about easily getting a nail trim 2-4:30PM and thought I'd take advantage since he hates nail trims. I've grown up with dog groomer friends, and I expected a little professionalism. When I arrived, the woman, asked "Nail Trim?" Then asked me to bring him out front of the shop. I was confused, no paperwork, no info taken, she didn't even ask my dogs name. She told us to grab his head while she quickly went to work on his back paws. She grabbed them hard and my dog resisted as he does, she tightened and struggled with him but it was over quick. I was stunned, I've never seen a nail trim happen this way. I've always known groomers to use a table with restraints to safety immobilize the dog. I looked over his nails and noticed some shavings hanging and asked her if she could clean it up. She said " that's the best I can do if he's going to struggle like that" At that point, I knew this was going nowhere and I took my dog home. About 10 min later he began limping. I pushed it aside as maybe a nail was cut short, but 2 weeks later, we realized something was very wrong, as he now was putting no weight on the leg, and now we are going for a surgery consult. Such a nightmare, can't prove a thing but I will advise anyone I know, to avoid this shop for their pets safety.

My fox red lab is extremely nervous around people. She usually barks, cowers, and takes a long time to warm up. Cathy generously offered for me to bring her in just to spend time in the space with her, her husband, and their dogs, purely to help her feel more comfortable. The moment we arrived, I could tell this place was special. The space is beautiful and clearly designed with dogs in mind, and Cathy herself is just lovely. Almost immediately, my nervous pup, who usually barks at everyone, was calmly approaching her, sniffing her hand, and even taking treats without making a sound. I was honestly amazed. I left feeling completely at ease, knowing both of my dogs were in the best possible hands. Cathy kept me updated throughout the entire visit, not only about my black lab's groom, but also about my other pup who wasn't even there for a groom. I will also say I think they did a fun great job with my pup. Most places wanna charge you over $100 luckily this place was under 100 and it included the wash as well as a nail trim and she didn't look horrible after . Our dog always comes home happy and tired from playing with the other dogs. I love that he gets so much exercise and socialization! He's really well taken care of here. He even had a medical issue once during boarding. Park-a-Pup immediately called us to notify us, and we came back early from our trip to take him to the vet. If they hadn't been so prompt, he may not have survived. We'll be happy customers of Park-a-Pup as long as our dog is alive!
