Went in to get my tragus on both ears pierced today. The guys at the front desk were so sociable, helpful and professional. I was a little nervous about how much it would hurt but honestly, Jamie made the whole experience run smoothly and he was careful not to hurt me. I barely felt the needle. The place is clean and sanitized which put me at ease. Sometimes there's places that don't keep a clean facility. I am definitely going to go back for more piercings Prices are not bad and selection of jewelry is quite large. I am so happy with my new piercings. Thanks SCP! read more

I have to confess: I like sparklies. Ice. Rocks. A girl's best friend. Among other precious stones. So when I went to get my ears re-pierced, and was presented with the options of what to have reside on each side of my cranium for a couple of months... yeah, I probably shoulda gone with plain studs. But... but... they were so prit-ty. Sigh. After years of not wearing earrings, inevitably one closed up and the other was close. However, in our travels, I've started buying rather nice (sparkly) earrings... but opening those holes again has been, I admit, a wee bit daunting. "Just stick a needle through it! Here, I'll do it!" Enthused my niece, who works in the medical profession, but in a lab rather than with patients. Mmmmm. No, thank you. I want someone who really knows what they're doing, and I sure don't want to be shot with a gun again... what if they don't quite hit the mark and I'm left with a torn up lug hole? However, piercing studios intimidate me. Pushing 60, I do not look or meet their demographic. Nary a tat, skin that resembles a chicken that's been in the fridge a few days too long, grey hair and I just have a rather not-hip vibe about me. I'm back to my traveling lately... covid was dreadful, but it sure was a nice respite from my road warrior days. However, life finally resumed and I'm sitting in a hotel far more than at home of late. Soooo... to fill some alone time... So I found myself in front of two young men working the desk at Sonoma County Piercing. Heavily tattooed with multiple piercings, they were very welcoming as I tentatively stepped in. "We'll need you to fill out a health questionnaire..." one said. I snorted. Pregnant? If so, there's a star rising in the east and camel poo on the front lawn... They both barked with laughter. Ooops, I said that out loud. After confessing to all my medications and lack of drug use, I was led over to the jewelry case. Ooooooooo. Those sparkle... "Did you want cubic zirconia or diamonds?" Politely asked the young man. My eyes narrowed. Cubic zirconia, the trailer trash of the jewelry world. You have diamonds? Yup. Mmmm. Quantos dineros? $450. Each. Mmmm. No getting away from the need for two. I'm not out to look lopsided. I'm also not out to spend quite that much. There's a smaller size... $275... I do like the sparkles. And it's a woman-owned small business, I'd be supporting the community. And I have to wear these for... wait, for how long? "If we have to re-pierce you, four months." FOUR MONTHS?? Like, a third of a YEAR?? Um... yeah. I guess. Gimme the sparkles. It would be a far stretch to call them rocks. Rather more like granules. Whatever. For the amount I'm traveling at present, I'm making bank on the per diems and Beloved, bless her, was on board. It was all very hygienic - everything sterilized and beautifully clean. I noticed the small lump of ice quietly melting on the tray with the other thingies (I don't mind needles, but I'm not into admiring what I'm about to be stabbed with, either, so I didn't look too closely.) The... um... whaddo I call him? Piercer? Was as gentle as possible, but I would've appreciated a bit o' that ice. Instead, all of a sudden I feel like I'm giving birth through my earlobe. Granted, I've never actually given birth, we adopted our kids. However, that was the weirdest feeling (and quite uncomfortable) as he first broke through the skin and started wiggling the post or whatever it was through the remnants of the tunnel. I sat there trying to convince myself this wasn't a problem. After all, throughout time, women have passed a grapefruit sized object through their hoo-ha, surely I can handle a thin post through my ear's collapsed piercing. "Okay," he said, "one more push..." OW. OOOOWWWWWW.... But I survived it and all was well. Yes, I'd definitely recommend. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but I myself go off of them so much. I got a double belly button piercing which would have been fine but the jewelry was way too small for swelling. It hurt so bad to walk,talk, sit. It was the worst piercing I've ever had and I've had a few in my life. I think because of the two piercings the piercer should have known of swelling and put a longer bar in. A waste of 300 and they said the would re pierce but I'm scared to go back in. Had to come and leave a review for this lovely shop. I have super super sensitive skin and am very reactive to metals, so after many attempts at getting and healing piercings and none successful, I had pretty much given up on getting piercings. I heard about this place and watched their socials as they renovated their space and started showing what they were all about. I was NOT disappointed. Not only are all the piercers just lovely to chat with and very warm and welcoming but the jewelry is all beautiful and of the highest quality. I literally did not think it was possible for me to be this comfortable with a new piercing. They mean it when they say they prioritize minimal trauma to the skin and quality in every aspect of the appointment. This may just be my experiences but in other piercing shops I have felt rushed through all the steps of the appointment, whether it's cause it's a single piercer at a tattoo parlor or just a busy day, that is not the case here, there are multiple piercers with long time slots for each appointment so you always feel comfortable to take your time picking out jewelry and asking any questions you want answered. Overall both my appointments were a great experience and a generally great time. I will definitely be back, and you should to. read more

Considering how high the reviews are for this place I expected a LOT better. I went in (clearly a college student as they new my age from my ID) to get two piercings. I scheduled my appointment online, knew the price for the piercings would be $80 not including the jewelry, so I went in expecting to pay around $200 total. I asked if I could do gold colored jewelry and the guy working up front told me it would be "seven ninety seven". By the way, NOTHING is labeled, there is no price on anything (which is how they try and screw you). I assumed "okay, 7.97 for each barbel so I'm sitting at an extra $32". Wrong. They pierced me and AFTER rang me up with the jewelry which happened to be $797. They were so nonchalant about such an expensive price, especially to someone my age. They had to take out the piercings (which then started bleeding a lot), and put in the basic ones (which they should have just told me the price differences to begin with). Anyway, wouldn't go here again, I feel like they tried to take advantage of me here. I threw in an extra star because at least the piercer was great? read more

Was bummed spent $200 for three ear piercings and they aren't exactly where I wanted them and I thought maybe it was my fault because I couldn't see the dots in the mirror. My sister was sitting next to me and said the pen dots were in the correct spots. I have many ear piercings and have never had an issue. These have keloids and one bleeds all the time after a month. I took my daughter to get her nosie pierced and third holes in her ears. The piercer was great with my daughter explains every step of the way and was very gentile. I ended up mentioning my industrial jewelry seemed to long and kept getting snagged on my hair and other things. As I got the piercing less than a year ago. He mentioned doing a down size and I trusted his judgment being the expert. Down sized as recommended the jewlery was a gage or two bigger than my original price doing that irritated and made my ear swell and bleed. The jewlery ended up being to short for my ear, everytime I looked in the mirro the the jewlery looked like it was missing there was no room for it to breath. Once I took that piece out from Sonoma County Piercing my ear has not been irritated or swollen. It has had the appropriate amount of time to heal properly. read more

If you've been driving all the way to SF or to Berkeley to get pierced, to buy jewelry, or to get hardware installed, you have to check out Sonoma County Piercing. Jamie is an experienced and thoughtful piercer, with a relaxed, confident, gentle manner. (He's also a badass; I just want to make it clear that he's approachable lol) The shop is immaculate and comfortable. The safety protocols are followed rigorously. Everyone at the shop is friendly, non-judgmental, and down to earth. The jewelry selection is beautiful! Wonderful piercing studio! I had my daith pierced here a couple weeks ago. I am experienced with being pierced but always get the jitters. Jamie and his apprentice couldn't have been more professional and friendly which made the whole process easy. The shop is so clean and they carry beautiful jewelry.
