I have a confession to make: ribs are not my favorite meat to enjoy. I know shocking and the truth is I never liked eating around the bone, so I always chose to go with boneless, but after I visited Sonny's BBQ, I think it's safe to say I might start changing my mind about ribs because the food was exceptionally delicious, the service was amazing (our waitress was always ready to serve us with the best customer service), and the ambience was very relaxed and chill. Yes, I definitely will be revisiting this location for it's interior eating. Another fact is that this Sonny's BBQ is the one we often select to feed us when we're at home, choose bbq, and choose the option of not going to visit and eat but to have it picked up and we eat it at the house. Another great visit. It has been several years since I have visited this location. This location was remodeled about six years ago and still looks to be quite clean. I was in the area and stopped in for lunch. I recognized a few of the servers, something you do not see a lot these days. I was sat quickly and ordered my food. Within a few minutes, I was enjoying tender thinly sliced bbq pork, fresh coleslaw and backed beans. Everything was really good. As with almost everything today, the portion size looked much smaller than I remember. As I was enjoying the pork so much, I did have to order another side of meat. Visted Sonny's BBQ today for a take-out. I've eaten inside a few times, as well. We always order an individual Sonny's sampler @$21.39 with 3 meats, 2 sides, and cornbread or garlic bread. We think it's worth it because they usually give generous portions and the food is always good. The cornbread, tonight, was questionably dry, tho. But, otherwise we both enjoyed our dinner. I really like being greeted when I arrive and they ALWAY do, as well as, say goodnight. Rare for service in the Atlanta area. They always makes us feel really welcomed. Visited Sonny's after having trouble trying to eat at two other restaurants on what I thought should be a pretty slow Tuesday. I'm very glad things went the way they did because my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed having lunch here! It wasn't too busy and we were seated quickly upon arrival. I enjoyed the food so much and definitely did plan to return so I can try some of the other options and the desserts. The service was up to par and our food came out faster than I expected (they had up now hiring signage so I assumed it would take a while but it definitely did not). We ordered ribs, Mac and cheese, baked beans, fries, chicken, potato salad, and green beans. Ribs-Flavorful and already cut (Which is very nice). They were a touch on the tough side, but nothing to gripe about to hard. The BBQ sauce added a nice compliment to the flavor profile. BUY Chicken-Very tender but needed a bit more seasoning. The flavor was decent but didn't knock my socks off by any means. AVOID. Mac and Cheese. Decent flavor consistency for restaurant style mac&cheese. It's not your grandmas, but it's more like stouffers. It'll be fine as a fill-in if you don't want to make your own. BUY Baked beans-Bangin. The beans had the right consistency with a Smokey flavor. BUY Green Beans-tasted fresh, pretty good. BUY Potato Salad- pretty good, just a standard potato salad. BUY Fries-crinkle cut. Similar to zaxbys fries. BUY And lastly, that garlic bread that comes with the food is BOMB BOMB! We are usually not a bready bunch, but we could not stop eating it lol. The bread was nearly the first "dish" that was gone! My husband and I love this place. They have really good BBQ and as a born and raised Texan I know good BBQ. It's hard to find good BBQ outside of Texas. The only cons I would say are their brisket is a little tough and dry, sausage is dry, and their BBQ beans are disgusting tasting. I don't know what they put in those beans for flavor but they should stop. I had to drive around looking for some good BBQ beans which is impossible to find in Atlanta. They all taste like Bush's baked beans. We always get curbside takeout as we are still in a pandemic but the lady that serviced me was very warm and nice. Can't wait to go back. read more

I apologize for not having pictures to add but, as a YELP Elite THE ONLY time I don't take pictures is when I'm am absolutely starving!!! After running my errand, I Yelped to see the distance & lord and behold it was less than 2miles so, guess who was craving BBQ. Meeeee!!! I pulled up I knew...thought I knew what I want but, that changed when I seen the drive thru menu. I decided on getting a chopped Brody sandwich, mac&cheese, something different called..."Redneck Eggrolls" which was pulled pork, jalapeño cheese & I think slaw and lastly, a Arnold Palmer to polish it all off with. The young guy that took my order was very professional, knowledgeable and fast with giving me my food & cashing me out. Very pleasant guy. OK so, I after getting to my destination...I started opening my order, everything was packed well, secured and hot. I started w/the unheard of Redneck Egg-rolls and that 1st bite...(I think..I heard angels). These egg-rolls were so, unexpectedly hearty & good along w/there dipping sauce. The brisket sandwich was very good as well and there unique BBQ sauce but, the Mac was ok. The tea I could of had it a little sweeter but, never the less...I will be going back the very next time I am in there neighborhood. I already know what I'm going to order next time...Yeap, more Redneck Egg-rolls and ima try the ribs & other sides next time. Now I'm curious what other secrets Sonny keeping at this hidden gem!!!! The reason this place is getting a 2 star is because the staff was very welcoming and friendly. As well as, the place was exceptional clean, to later find out it was due to it being renovated 6 months ago. This place on where it counts, FOOD, was very disappointing. I came here to get real bbq. I arrived to this restaurant to find the lobby area full of veterans. I stood in line with my veterans code. I finally got to the front where I gave my order. The cashier was nice but seemed tired and a bit frustrated. I waited at the bar and was really surprised to hear the manager and cook in the back arguing. The cook in the back seemed to be getting orders wrong and that was upsetting the manager. The cook came from the back to help in the front but that really didn't help, especially with customers looking on. They finally called my number and I I left. The pulled pork sandwich was huge and the baked beans were ok. The meat in the pulled pork was a bit chewy. The packets of barbecue sauce was a nice touch. If the food were better, the arguing co-workers wouldn't be so bad but with both happening, then I could only really give 2 stars. read more

She was a pleasant person, very attentive and an asset to your establishment. We started with the best sweet tea ever. I appreciate those extra large cups thank you. Next came the Redneck Egg Rolls. The name threw me off but hey who am I to judge. Made of pulled pork, coleslaw and cheese deep fried in an eggroll. Melt in your mouth crispy deliciousness. My boyfriend ordered all you can eat baby back ribs. Not on the menu so ask for it. The corn nuggets were so good. I had all you can eat Sweet and Spicy Ribs. We had the BBQ chopped Salad with brisket, a kids pulled pork sandwich and mac-n-cheese and a 2 meat plate with turkey and pork and a coke and it came to less than $35. I've also tried their ribs and they're good as well. Everything is fairly priced and they definitely give you enough food to eat off of twice. They have a variety of bbq sauce options and they're all good, my favorites are the sweet bbq sauce and the smoking bbq sauce. 10/10 would recommend!
