Solid spot for a night out on the weekend, that's for sure! I love a place where the focus is on making sure people have a great time above all else. First, there's a huge free parking lot with spaces galore since the other businesses in the shopping area are closed by the time this one opens. There was no line at the door, and security was quick, polite, and professional. They also seem to accommodate large parties very well, as we came through for our friend's birthday. The DJ was amazing, too! All the southern classics. I thought the cocktail menu was unique because of how many Jameson cocktails there were, as opposed to what you normally see, but I liked it! I am not mad at a little Jameson at all. The wings and eggrolls were pretty decent, and the space was clean even though it was PACKED (it was a Saturday by the way). Today, 9 Aug 2026, my family wrapped up our Family Reunion with brunch at 1942 Social. What a fantastic way to close a great family reunion at a minority, female-owned establishment!! The hospitality, service, ambiance, food and drinks were above reproach.-- they were outstanding! We were greeted warmly, the music and inviting and the buffet presentation was impressive. The buffet included meat and vegan choices., salads, fruit, scrambled eggs, grits, sausage, fried chicken, salmon, mashed potatoes, fried cauliflower bites, veggie spring rolls with orange dip, and fried potatoes. I was in town this weekend and while visiting a friend in Stockbridge, we all decided to grab a drink at 1942 social. Immediately upon entering we were greeted and ask if we'd like to sit inside or on the patio. We went out on the patio since the weather was nice and we wanted to smoke. The patio was spacious and it wasn't packed so we easily found a table to accommodate our group. I live in L.A. so drinks here were priced very reasonably compared to what I'm used to. We didn't try the food so I can't speak on it but if I'm in the area again I'd definitely come back and try it. I was looking for a place to eat happy hour and do some work. And this restaurant fits all 3 of my needs. I was able to sit outside. It was beautiful day. It was during the happy hour, which has a pretty good menu. The service was good despite the fact that there really wasn't but one server. She did a great job. The only complaint I had was that outside they couldn't turn the fans on because they didn't know where the remote was. Multiple people didn't know where the remote was. Otherwise, Wi-Fi was good. The food and service was great. The ambiance could use some improvement. We were there to watch the football game. However, the music was wayyyyy too loud. Sometimes the music and DJ would play in between commercials and other times it was during the game. Either way, we could not enjoy conversations due to the loudness. We attempted to sit outside for a while, the sun ran us back indoors.I think the sound needs to decrease some. If you plan on having conversation, this might not be the spot. read more

We are visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this place for lunch. I can see how it would be a blast on a busy night/weekend. One thing I loved and never expected (it being GA with temps in the 40's) was a place with open air seating. The bar (open air) was decorated totally cute for the holiday. They have cabanas for rent. The food was good. We had wings with the bourbon maple sauce which was phenomenal. We also had the fried ribs and mac & cheese. I don't know that we would get the ribs again- the BBQ sauce was good it was all just very hard to eat with the coating and they sat very heavy. The Mac & cheese was very good. The only down side was the service- our server was very friendly and nice- we just didn't see her much at all. We had wanted another cocktail but we're done eating by the time she came by to check on us. This was my second visit and once again 1942 Social didn't disappoint. The customer service is amazing and unmatched and our waitress named May was exceptional. She was very attentive to our needs. 1942 is super cute on the inside. The decor is simple but definitely gives off vibes. The staff is super friendly and attentive for the most part. I'm definitely on my way to becoming a "regular" especially since I know someone who works here. I've come a few times. I've come on a Friday night and sat by the entertainer. The band was amazing. The music was on point, straight talent. Fridays are definitely a great night to go. If you have a larger party, you may want to consider making a reservation, but walk-ins are definitely welcomed with open arms. There is a $5 entertainment fee, though but it's well worth it. The crowd is mixed. I've seen younger folks in their early 20's and I've seen some that could possibly be 60-70+. Nonetheless, give them a try if you're on the Southside. Now, the food - I've tried the cheese/broccoli potato (BOMB!). The social ribs are to die for.. the zucchini fries are AMAZING but that dang on shrimp Alfredo potato is something special for sure!! They have happy hour during the week 5-7 and there are some good $5 food items on there. The buffalo chicken dip, wings, nachos all good and definitely filling. During this time, there's also $20 hookah ($24 after tax) which is half priced. Tell them you heard the raspberry lemonade flavor was BOMB!
