There was no line at the door, and security was quick, polite, and professional. They also seem to accommodate large parties very well, as we came through for our friend's birthday. Today, 9 Aug 2026, my family wrapped up our Family Reunion with brunch at 1942 Social. What a fantastic way to close a great family reunion at a minority, female-owned establishment!! The hospitality, service, ambiance, food and drinks were above reproach.-- they were outstanding! We were greeted warmly, the music and inviting and the buffet presentation was impressive. The buffet included meat and vegan choices., salads, fruit, scrambled eggs, grits, sausage, fried chicken, salmon, mashed potatoes, fried cauliflower bites, veggie spring rolls with orange dip, and fried potatoes. I was in town this weekend and while visiting a friend in Stockbridge, we all decided to grab a drink at 1942 social. Immediately upon entering we were greeted and ask if we'd like to sit inside or on the patio. We went out on the patio since the weather was nice and we wanted to smoke. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patio was spacious and it wasn't packed so we easily found a table to accommodate our group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I live in L.A. so drinks here were priced very reasonably compared to what I'm used to. We didn't try the food so I can't speak on it but if I'm in the area again I'd definitely come back and try it. We are visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this place for lunch. I can see how it would be a blast on a busy night/weekend. Seafood lunch, salad and appetizer were all delicious. The only reason I rated this restaurant 4 stars is because they were out of the buffalo chicken dip for the chip/dip appetizer. It was early. The restaurant was empty and they were out of a part of this appetizer. With my approval they subbed a double portion of the spinach dip. Came here for a late night snack after a great evening out. Tried to support my neighborhood spot vs midtown meal. I caught kitchen right before closing and ordered my usual. Came all the way home to severe, major disappointment. The pain was coming back home at 2am in the morning, in these Henry County streets.... Every time she got the food out she asked if it was OK and every time she brought drinks she'd ask if they were exceptional. 1942 is super cute on the inside. The decor is simple but definitely gives off vibes. The staff is super friendly and attentive for the most part. I'm definitely on my way to becoming a "regular" especially since I know someone who works here. I've come a few times. I've come on a Friday night and sat by the entertainer. The band was amazing. The music was on point, straight talent. Fridays are definitely a great night to go. If you have a larger party, you may want to consider making a reservation, but walk-ins are definitely welcomed with open arms. There is a $5 entertainment fee, though but it's well worth it. The crowd is mixed. I've seen younger folks in their early 20's and I've seen some that could possibly be 60-70+. Nonetheless, give them a try if you're on the Southside. Now, the food - I've tried the cheese/broccoli potato (BOMB!). The social ribs are to die for.. the zucchini fries are AMAZING but that dang on shrimp Alfredo potato is something special for sure!! They have happy hour during the week 5-7 and there are some good $5 food items on there. The buffalo chicken dip, wings, nachos all good and definitely filling. During this time, there's also $20 hookah ($24 after tax) which is half priced. Tell them you heard the raspberry lemonade flavor was BOMB! This is a cute, quaint sports bar tucked away at the end of the shopping plaza. I almost drove past it because the sign wasn't big or bright. When you walk in, it's cozy and inviting. It wasn't busy when I arrived so we were seated immediately. The DJ was playing a good mix of rap & R&B and all TVs had the basketball game playing so it's a good place to just go and chill. For food, I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. None of the food had much flavor. The seasoning on the outside of the salmon was okay but once you bit into the salmon, there wasn't a ton of flavor. There didn't seem to be any seasoning on the broccoli or mashed potatoes either. I went with a friend on an early Saturday evening. It wasn't busy, plenty of parking, and food, drinks, and hookah were available. I ordered the salmon and my friend got the lamb chops. My only complaint was the broccoli was overcooked, which my friend agreed. The complaint with the lamb chops was the sauce drenched on them; my friend preferred the sauce on the side but ate them as they were because service was slow, although friendly. I also ordered two drinks, which were made by my waitress. The drinks were good, but it's weird the menu didn't include drink prices as a feature drink costs over $20. Not a fan of hidden prices. I've been coming here for the past couple of weeks, as a friend of mine has been coming here....well let me tell you...the food, drinks, and service do not let you down!! This place can be pretty busy...especially during sports games or when they have live music on Fridays...and still the staff handles themselves very smoothly! Everyone is super pleasant...the crowd is mixed..(between 25-70). The DJs know how to read the room. I really like this place and the food is amazing, as if it hugs you while you're eating! Can't go wrong with their signature loaded potatoes..I get one almost every time but they are huge! My cousins and I have also had fried BBQ ribs (Social Ribs), zucchini fries, chicken nachos, fried shrimp and are still looking forward to trying the entire menu. I didn't even get the chance to try the food because I left the establishment due to how I was treated. I was visiting the area and decided to stop by around 6:20 PM on a Friday evening. The restaurant was about 1/4 full when I walked in, and I asked the hostess if there was a table for two available for my husband and me. The hostess responded, "Not really, because we're kind of booked," despite the restaurant being mostly empty. She then added that the bar was available. I asked to look at the menu to decide if I wanted to eat there. As I was looking at the menu, an older Caucasian couple walked in after me. The hostess immediately greeted them and asked if they preferred a high or low table. They responded, "low table," and she promptly seated them at a table in the back. I was shocked and waited for her to return to ask why she had told me no tables were available. Her response was, "Well, you didn't ask for a table." I reminded her that I did ask for a table, and she had told me they were "kind of booked" but the bar was an option. Yet she made a table available for the couple who arrived after me. She then said, "Well, I can seat you at a table now." At that point, I declined. No thank you. I walked out. This establishment just lost a new customer due to what I believe to be discriminatory behavior. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. Update: We drove another 10 minutes to Fat Boiz in McDonough and received a table right away along with great food and music! It made my night, and we will definitely return to Fat Boiz. As a business owner myself, we have to make sure our customer service is top notch. Your staff is the face of your company and the first people potential customers will see. That can make or break your establishment as the customer service will turn them into repeat customers or non-existing ones. read more
