Omg,...this place is so pretty. Stopped in 2x in one night. The food was delicious, the drank were just right. But the vibe was . No paying to get in, no paying to park, just come on in and be seated right away. There were a lot of servers that spoke, or took direct care of me. Drew, Sam, Ree, Clark, Dee....thanks for having a great attitude and be pleasant. I know 1st hand the service industry can be brutal..but everyone was smiling and helping each other out. Black girl magic. Met the owner, cool dude. Hookah, music, patio, great food...yeah I will be back.

Thank you to the ladies at Bar42 for a tasty, unwind after a busy work day. The music hit just right as we decided on our happy hour treats . $3.95 Oy'sters Rockefeller called out to me and I answered. $5 lemon drops are a great way to wash away the edge from the days work grind. Topped off the tasting with the $5 lamb chops which were flavorful but definitely tiny. Crispy Brussel sprouts were had to round off the meal. I could have stood a lil more crispness but they were tasty none the less. Bar42's decor added to the grown and sexy we felt as we chopped it up with friends.

We celebrated my birthday last night and I must say A TIME WAS HAD!! The food and service 10 out of 10. They have some of the best crab claws I've ever had. I had the seafood pasta and a couple of lemon drops. Everyone in my party enjoyed themselves. Good music and good vibes. We'll definitely be back aaaand it's local!

Atlantic Red Snapper Garlic Mashed Potatoes collard greens

Decided to come into this place on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Great food, very attentive customer service and great ambience. Food: The snapper, greens and mashed potatoes were a 10/10. It was actually REAL mashed potatoes and REAL greens and not greens from a can. The bang bang shrimp was also a 10/10 for me. Super hot when it came out and the sauce was excellent. Not gross and mayo-ey like other bang bang sauces I've had. Drinks: The old fashioned was good standard no frills old fashioned. The drink with the flower in it is th "let's get cozy" and I loved it! Fruity and sweet with a generous pour. The rum in this was very good and I would buy it again. Customer service: With this being a newer place sometimes the staff is not super knowledge. That definitely not the case with my server Ré, she was incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive. She gave me food and drink recommendations and informed of the specials that happen throughout the week. Ré was super nice and when I come back I will request her. Overall rating: 5/5

Bourbon glaze salmon, brussel sprouts, and mashed potatoes! 10/10!

The service from Tatiana was amazing! She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, quick. The jams were on point from the time we arrived. The DJ came and was playing an amazing mix!! Had the crowd going. Music at a good volume, not too loud. The food....uh-ma-zing!!! I had to ask the chef if he has any feet left...bc he put his foooot in my meal! fresh, good flavors. Every thing is homemade! 10/10 The owner came and made sure we were ok! He was very humble, willing to actually sit down with us and converse. Thanked us for coming! Personable. Great experience! Will be back!!!

Swigzz looked charming and normal outside but inside was bright, clean and lively. Well lit and after waiting for someone to place my game on a screen, I ordered a blue moon, because they didn't carry draft beer or Shocktop.... Something I pray they will correct going forward. The waitress returned to tell me they were out of blue moon and I had to settle for coors light instead, my universal go to. Moving ahead, around the 4th quarter internet connectivity became an issue and I missed the first half of the fourth quarter, waiting for the steelers to come back against the streaking Chicago Bears. That's when a nice waitress brought over her ipad and allowed me to finish the game. We lost anyway. No allow me to back up for a second. With all the ups and downs of my initial visit to Swigzz, something special happened as I watched the first half of the pittsburgh game. I ordered they are nachos with beef and a side of guacamole. I give the Beef nachos a A -, because the cheese was not my favorite. It could just be me. Nevertheless, I finished my plate, nachos and scraped all the cheese and tidbits off of my plate. That's when the waitress reminded me that I had not had my guacamole because they were making it fresh in the back. She agreed to bring me a plate of chips to go with the guac. Thinking this was gonna be a bummer and I was really focused on the game. 10-15 minutes after finishing my nachos , the guacamole arrived with the extra chips. I over eat at times and thought about passing on this trailing item. Since I had paid for it, I decided to take a chip and dip it in the guacamole. What I experienced next was one of the most awesome culinary orgasmic moments I've had in my five decades if life. The absolute perfect blend of avocado, lime and whatever else they use....exploded throughout my palette and sent shock waves through my soul. When I decided to write this , I did not know if I wanted to start with the guacamole or end with the connectivity issues and the amount of Pittsburgh Steeler plays I missed. However this guacamole experience overshadowed everything that I experienced during my first visit to Swiggz, and yes, I plan to return really soon. And while I did not listen to the bartender the first time. I will be getting a large order during my next visit. Stop by and check them out.

There was plenty of free parking available and no cover fee. I was the last one to arrive at the table (only about 5 minutes late). When I sat down, there was already a drink tower on the table along with cups and water. Our server was quick to put in drink and food orders, but not as attentive. I ordered a sprite and she brought a can that was dented without noticing, so it had to be exchanged to avoid an explosion upon opening it. The food was just okay. I liked their cheese sticks, but the house salad with salmon was lacking flavor. No one at the table seemed to love their food. A few ordered pasta, wings and differing apps. Overall, we enjoyed the music selection that the djay played and the vibes were good. They required a large deposit for reservations, but it seemed like there were plenty of empty seats available and ease to walk in and sit either at the bar or at a table without one. I am not sure if I'd return any time soon, but it was not a bad experience.

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.

There seems to be plenty of parking on the street as well as the lot behind the building. It was around noon when I arrived and they were serving their brunch menu. I had the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit that came with eggs and a side of grits. The biscuit was large, soft, and toasted and the fried chicken on top crisp and seasoned well. It was sweet from the honey. The eggs (I had them scrambled) were fine, but nothing remarkable. The grits were quite spicy for my taste, but I'm a wimp from the Midwest so they were probably great. I enjoyed everything. I would have liked an unsweetened iced tea, but only sweet tea was available. I had a fountain soft drink instead of. The restaurant was light and airy. The furniture was a bit worn and the dishes were plain white plastic but on the whole it was a lovely place. My server was pleasant and attentive.

There is also street parking. Wait to be seated. Best to have a reservation during peak hours. Weekend brunch and evenings I imagine to be busy. QR code menu. NOTE if you go during brunch and you get a cocktail from the menu you won't see the prices for brunch. That is part of the reason for the low rating. Even though the drink menu says the days and hours for those prices, you have to ask for the after those hours. The menu has your typical southern brunch flare with a twist. The drink menu is good. I ordered the impossible burger slider, it doesn't come with anything. Just two sliders. I ordered the potatoes. Even though the sliders were decent. It was a little salty. Presentation was good. Watermelon savage. I also tried the scrambled eggs - way too salty. It was inedible. My brunch partner didn't like the grits or chicken biscuit that it came with. Service was fine. Decor and atmosphere was nice. Overall, it was decent. It seems like a nice place to grab drinks and catch a vibe or be the vibe. Gratuity is included. Overall, decent spot. Now this was a treat…read more I had no idea Little Spirit was tucked away where it is--I usually frequent Delbar just up the street--so stumbling upon this spot was such a pleasant surprise. I know the word gets overused, but it truly was a whole vibe. What I loved most is that it's the kind of place where everyone feels welcome. There's no pressure, no strict dress code--just a come-as-you-are energy, and people genuinely receive you that way. Within five minutes of being there, I already felt comfortable. Everyone was so friendly--the bartenders, the people around us, even the random interactions felt warm and easy. The space itself is really cool too. They have artwork featuring icons like Prince, Tupac, and Biggie, which added to the overall atmosphere. We ordered the King Peach (I believe it had bourbon--I did take a picture of the menu, though it's a little cut off), and it was really good. Smooth, flavorful, and easy to sip. They're open until 2 AM, so it's a great spot whether you're grabbing a drink with friends, on a date, or even just stopping by solo to soak in the energy. It's one of those places where you can just be. I'd love to make this a regular spot--definitely somewhere I can see myself coming back to at least once a month.
