My sister and I came here on a sister date randomly. We couldn't have made a better choice! We were…read moregoing to go to this other dive bar, but we decided to come here because I passed it or thought I had passed it and we ended up spending the afternoon here and meeting a great bartender by the name of Amanda. Amanda took such great care of us and make sure we're OK. We expressed that it was our first time having food here and she gave us some great recommendations. We ended up having wings, but the wings were so good and they even gave us one or two extra. I did have a hookah and when he brought me a refill, I asked how much and he said he always includes a free refill, which is very rare in Atlanta because they will charge you for everything! But I gave him a tip so all is well I will be back to watch a basketball game in the next few days and I'm sure I'll have the same experience! I can't wait and when you come, make sure you ask for Amanda The only reason why I knocked off one star is because you can't smoke cigarettes and black and Miles and hookah and cigars in here so it can get very very smoky.

Customer Beware! After frequenting a few establishments on…read moreVirginia Ave recently, we ended up at the Irish Bred Pub. We had previously learned an 18-20% gratuity was automatically added to the final bill, regardless of number in party. However, not one server informed us of this important info prior! After receiving the check from our server Meisha at the Irish Bred Pub, we noticed the tip was already added in. Thus, the gratuity line was zeroed out before signing. We threw in a few dollars more to bump up the percentage. The credit card statement reflected exactly a $10 increase from the agreed amount to pay! Several attempts to contact managers Mario & Janese fell on deaf ears! Finally, an "in person" encounter resulted in obtaining a copy held by the restaurant. Meisha had closed out the bill, adding a gratuity line of the additional $10! Evidently there's an underground racket of credit card theft happening here! We work for a major airline, & are sounding the alarm! Compare your receipts to the credit card statement!

Spondivits is still Spondivits... and that's exactly why I keep going back…read more It may not have quite the same pop-culture buzz it had years ago when Jeezy was rapping about eating at Spondivits four times a week , but if you actually care about good seafood, this place still deserves its flowers. I've been eating here for years, and what I appreciate most is the consistency. We've watched seafood-boil restaurants pop up everywhere, with seafood tossed into bags and completely buried under oil, butter substitutes, salt and seasoning until you can barely taste what you're eating. Spondivits has never needed to do all of that. The seafood actually tastes like seafood. It's fresh, high-quality, properly cooked and seasoned without being overwhelmed. Even their seafood buckets are served with actual garlic butter, which makes such a difference. The restaurant itself emphasizes fresh seafood simply steamed and served with garlic butter, and that straightforward approach is part of why it has lasted. On this visit, I had a seafood bucket with lobster and crab, and it was exactly what I wanted. Fresh, flavorful and cooked properly without being drowned in seasoning. My girlfriend had the fish of the day, which I believe was branzino, prepared blackened with vegetables. Amazing. Perfectly cooked fish, great seasoning and vegetables that actually complemented the meal instead of feeling like an afterthought. Their menu does offer a catch of the day that can be prepared blackened, grilled, fried or broiled with rice and vegetables. I also have to mention some longtime favorites: The cheese bread. The garlic bread. The gumbo. And I recently learned something I wish I had known years ago. Some ingredients in the gumbo can apparently be removed. I don't eat oysters, and one of the gentlemen helping us let me know that oysters could be left out. That immediately made the gumbo a much better option for me. Another reason I keep Spondivits in the rotation is the location and the hours. Whenever I stay at the Renaissance Concourse near the Atlanta airport, this is an easy go-to. And when almost everything else is closed, Spondivits is still serving a full seafood menu late into the night. Their published hours currently run until 4 a.m., including the kitchen. It also travels surprisingly well. I've enjoyed the food dining in and taking it to go. Is it trendy? Not really. Does it need to be? Absolutely not. Spondivits has been doing seafood since 1979, and sometimes the old-school place that has been doing the same thing for decades is exactly where you need to go. Fresh seafood. Real butter. Great late-night option. Good portions. Consistent quality. And I'll take that over seafood swimming in a plastic bag full of seasoned oil any day. Seafood: Freshness: Late-night availability: Atlanta nostalgia: Cheese bread: ALWAYS YES. Spondivits is still one of my go-to seafood spots in Atlanta.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND UNACCEPTABLE!…read more I am beyond disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. While dining, a ROACH was literally crawling on my sister! As horrifying as that experience was, what made matters worse was the manager's complete lack of concern. We brought this disgusting situation to management's attention, and the manager did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! A customer should NEVER have to experience a cockroach crawling on them while dining at a restaurant. This raises serious concerns about cleanliness, sanitation, and the overall standards of this establishment. The lack of accountability and professionalism from management was just as disturbing as the incident itself. I've attached a photo so others can see exactly what we encountered. Customers deserve a clean, safe dining environment and management that takes serious complaints seriously. I would strongly encourage anyone considering dining here to THINK TWICE! This experience was completely unacceptable, and management's response made it even worse.

A fan$y place to stop for a healthy bite on a layover in the E concourse at ATL Airport…read more Everything I ordered here was delicious. The poke tacos appetizer were light and flaky with a nice avocado sauce, though I wish they had more tuna and were larger. One order is three tiny tacos about two inches wide by one inch tall for $18. The spicy tuna will was also great, nice and spicy with whole tuna (not shredded) and a slight crunch. Anywhere else I would expect to pay $8-10 for that roll, and even given the inflated airport prices I thought $18 for one roll was a little steep. The service was fantastic. My server while seated at the bar, Phil, was engaging, prompt, polite, funny, gave recommendations, etc. The atmosphere is modern, dark, clean. The warm incandescent light, marble tabletops, and wood-look flooring is a nice contrast to the flourescent lit concourse right outside. I gave them 5 stars because nothing was lacking, but the pricing is a little high for what you get.

Quickly seated inside of the establishment, there is not too much space but it's cozy. I was…read moretraveling by myself. Service was great, waitress had great recommendations for everyone in her area. She also added sauce on the side for me to try. I ordered lamb couscous plate, forgot the official name of it but lamb was very tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. Couscous was firm but cooked, hummus and tahini flow with that combo very well. My only complaint about this dish is the combo of warm and cold ingredients. Everything was warmed and cooked but the vegetables that were on top, it surprised me for sure. However it was still tasty. They served food and drinks in glass and ceramics, which i am very appreciative of, no plastic water cups, i know that bar is low but that is just a reality nowadays. Good food selection, great customer care, maybe just a tiny bit more attention to the food composition. Would recommend! P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that.
