Tiffany is awesome at what she does and super friendly. My waitress i always like having is Stephanie. Stephanie is very polite and on point with customer acknowledgment as soon as I sit down for lunch. I love having the garden salad with chicken because the portion is huge enough for 2 dinners. The cornbread is so good you don't even need butter and it doesn't fall apart in your hands. My favorite to have is the Artmans Sliders plate with 3 small sandwiches and a side or corn casserole.

I went all out to give her a true taste of their delicious offerings. 2 Moinks, an entire order of fried green tomatoes and fried banana peppers. The moinks lasted about 2 seconds with the both of us rolling our eyes heavenward while savoring each bite. My sister got the house salad with brisket and I got the pulled pork plate with cornbread and two sides (yes, thank you Jesus for those TWO sides!) which consisted of their corn casserole and broccoli rice casserole. Service was surprisingly fast. Refills, fast service, the nicest waitress on the planet too! Jennifer was her name. We remembered easily because my sister's name is also Jennifer! Everything was so good that my sister says she's bringing her husband to try them because what country boy doesn't like good home cooking and smoked meat? I'm taking most of the fried banana peppers and fried green tomatoes and surprising my husband with them. He'll either thank me or be jealous of where we went! If you haven't at least tried Artman's yet, you are doing yourself a huge injustice!!

This time I tried the pork rib ends with Mac and cheese and baked beans. Another home run. Those delicious beans are in a savory sauce with some succulent bits of meat in them. While we were eating the owner asked if we had tried his mustard bbq sauce. We hadn't, so he gave us some and suggested we mix a small amount of it into some of his red sauce. I'll be doing that from now on. We were not looking forward to eating in the 93° heat, but you know, under his shade tarps with a gentle breeze it wasn't too bad. The Belleview location is lacking in quality of food. It reminds me more and more of leftovers put together to make a meal. Go one week and the side beans and rice are so good I could eat them as a meal. Go the next week and they're burnt tasting with unjustly amount of over seasoning. My take... last weeks beans and rice are getting a full new seasoning bath to cover up the re-cooked, overcooked beans that they serve me this week. Not cool!. Just because the health department allows them to reserve those beans for 10 days straight doesn't mean they should. Server brought me the wrong sandwich, I told her but I let it ride. She didn't offer to reorder correct sandwich. That deer in the headlights look made me feel like I dint want her to lose her job. The tacos were not seasoned, like none. The shells were limp. The last two times we visited the fries and waffle fries were barely warm. They need not do this to people. Pre cooking potatoes is not good business. We didn't get the wings this time because last two times they were severely overcooked and dry. The time before that they were perfectly supreme. There is no consistency here. If you want a cold beer, get it in the big glass. I don't know what's up with that. Maybe they only keep the big glasses cold and not the small ones but those smaller glasse go hot fast

Service was what I expected from a small family owned Cuban joint. The food is nice. I ordered the Tripleta, which is a Cuban with Cuban Steak added (in addition to the pork and ham). Nicely pressed, great flavor. I also had to get a small mofongo. If you have not had it before, Mofongo is plantains with onions and spices, rolled up into a ball and cooked. It is served with chicken broth, which you will definitely understand should you decide to eat mofongo without it (plantains, unlike bananas, will dry you out). As for the million dollar question? Yes, I will go back some time.

The Play Place will be gone and they'll have a sleek new design entirely. It's always kept immaculate and has a good amount of courteous employees. Often that counter area can get jammed with a number of customers and can become unpleasant at other stores.
