Mellow Mushroom is a delightful throw back to when restaurants didn't look like a furniture store,…read morewith chairs, tables (and diners) as far as the eye can see. So, there is no waiting to discover where it is you and your party will be slotted in, but rather, it is a slow amble amidst lots of room to pretty much any table you choose, with mostly booths. The servers are mostly college age I would say, and all attentive with an easy-going nature while also industrious in going about their tasks, making for a nice combination of satisfaction and leisure upon each visit. As for the food and drink.. To start things off, a drink my friend orders regularly and always enjoys is the non-alcoholic Lavender Groove Lemonade, a refreshing blend of "Blueberry, lavender, house-made fresh sour, lemon, and club soda." Over multiple visits, we found all the main dishes to be consistently well-made and presented, as well as tasting great. Along with a variety of burgers and sandwiches, there are numerous pizza offerings as well as build-your-own. A favorite offering of ours is the Kosmic Karma, a delicious blend of "Mellow red sauce, spinach, roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh Roma tomatoes, feta cheese, and a pesto swirl." So far. we have opted for salads over appetizers to start and I particularly enjoy the Caesar, and recently we each followed our salads with a delectable Steak and Cheese Calzone consisting of "Grilled, shaved all-natural ribeye steak with mushrooms, sweet onions, green peppers, mozzarella, provolone and seasoned ricotta. Served with a side of Mellow Red Sauce." which are Huge btw so there was take-home of that and Delicious both days. This past week, we each ordered a salad and split another Steak and Cheese Calzone which, for that evening, satisfied our hunger just right. The only caveat I have is MM is popular with families, so, depending on the time of day, there will be one or two tables with little ones dining to three, four or more and the corresponding volume level to go with it. At the same time. families should feel welcome and there's a variety of menu items for kids to enjoy. And really, the noise seems to fade into the background once you focus on your own conversation and delectable meal. If you do visit Mellow Mushroom, I hope you enjoy your experience as much as we always have.

Stopped in today after going to iSmash at The Factory - parking lot was packed…read more I forgot just how small this restaurant is - even with the outdoor seating. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer, it was pretty sad. 5 really tiny pieces of bread and pretty meh. We ordered combo pizza - 1/2 holy shiitake and half white. The pizza is good, main issue is pretty slow service. Took quite a while to get our food. $55 for lunch before tip is pretty pricey.

Synopsis - Another amazing meal and concrete mixer from Culver's! They always get it right!…read more The Missus and I have been stopping by the Culver's off Rogers Road for a few years now and are never disappointed. The service is always top notch, the food delicious, and the prices are comparable to elsewhere. I tried a limited time burger on a pretzel bun with some pretzel bites and a mixer. Everything was beyond delicious. We love making Culver's our once a week order out meal. After this past trip, Culver's makes it back to the top choice list. Cannot say enough about this spot. Make it your splurge meal as well! 5 Delicious Stars out of 5!

The food itself isn't the issue -- it's the customer service that left a bad taste. I ordered the…read moreButtery Parmesan Chicken sandwich with no tomato. What arrived at my table was a burger, completely wrong order, tomato included. When I brought it to the counter to have it corrected, instead of a simple apology and a swap, I was met with interrogation. A staff member began asking me to essentially prove that my order was wrong, requesting a specific part of the packaging before she'd agree to fix it. She then walked back to our table with me to inspect the receipt and my family's food for herself. I've never in my life had to prove that a restaurant made an error on my order in order to get it corrected. I was polite and even smiled when I took the receipt and the wrong order back to the counter and asked for a correction. The person who responded instantly made me a suspect. I guess, I forgot what part of the South I was in. The correct sandwich did eventually arrive, but by that point the experience had already soured the meal entirely. I won't be returning to this location.

The Pickled Onion turned out to be a total surprise!!…read more My wife and I came here for a late dinner and honestly, we picked them because they were open. We regularly have sushi next door at Mizu, so we've seen the Onion for years and really didn't think much of the place from the outside. Wow...were we wrong! Inside is a bright, open, BIG dining room with several big comfy booths along one wall. TVs line nearly every wall playing whatever game happens to be playing at the time (admittedly not our favorite, but hey...it's a sports bar). Staff is super friendly and very helpful. The biggest surprise was how extensive and diverse the menu is. For our first time my wife and I decided to get a couple orders of tacos and split em. Fish tacos were hot and super crispy and the seared tuna tacos were very fresh...light yet filling. Both had incredible flavor and all the ingredients were the highest quality. We were very impressed. We look forward to coming back again to try more of their menu...and enjoy a few beers along the way!!

We ate that this location Saturday evening and came away feeling 'meh' about the entire meal. our…read morefood was not bad, just nothing to write home about. I had wings and a side salad which were both good, but not outstanding. The price of the side salad was rather expensive, in my opinion. My wife's Caesar salad with salmon was good as well, but again not that great. Apparently, they have a team approach to serving tables as we interacted with about 5 different servers which made things rather confusing and uneven. It would have been nice to know that's how they do the service experience up front. I think the primary factors in my rating are the price of the extra 2oz cup of Bleu Cheese dressing to take with my leftover wings and the 3% CC charge. If I knew the little cup of dressing was a dollar, I would not have taken it. Then there's the now ubiquitous 3% charge to use a credit card. I totally get that the card companies charge the fee and this is painted as 'transparency', but it just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe restauranteurs and other establishments that add the card fee could look at the sales with and without credit cards and just raise the menu prices by that percentage so it's not in people's faces. There's enough 'extra charges' in my life and it would be great to see one disappear.

It is rare I do an updated review and go down on stars. However, this place gets the nod…read more My first visit was a little off, mainly because the guy at the register was a little confused but the food and presentation was just that good. Over the past 3 weeks, I've noticed a steady decline in service and food quality. Please note I've ordered from here 8-10 times in that span, with dining in 3 times and Door Dashing 5-7 times. I can go back to my receipts but I made this place my go-to. One of the days I walked in to order and the guy flatly told me all subs were toasted when I asked if I could get mine toasted. Seemed a little uncalled for with the tone. The last visit onsite, the presentation from my first time (sub is spread open when served) had gotten worse. The tomatoes were noticeably smaller. My last door dash order from yesterday, I had a blonde hair in my sub. I do not have hair and it wouldn't be blonde, if so. It was mixed in as well. I threw the rest of my sub away. This is actually the second business on this strip I've found hair in my food. I don't complain, I just don't eat there anymore. But the fact I can notice a difference in service and food quality within 3 weeks is INSANE. At this point, I do not recommend this place.

The only problem that I have is that my food is never hot/fresh after all that waiting. One time there wasn't even any seasoning on the fries. They were just plain. The fries were cold and soggy last time too. They have an assembly line of sorts when packing our food that, again, is efficient, but causes our food to become soggy. That is not enjoyable to me at all. Just pack it after payment and don't just have it sitting to the side while all of the other orders before mine are awaiting pickup.

The last two times I've been in, I've had to clean my table before I even sat down. Here you pick up your own food and clean your own table after your meal. Trying to figure out what I'm tipping since I'm doing several of the things I normally tip for. I get my own beverage, get my own food, and I've had to buss my own tables. I wish restaurants with this type of atmosphere would stop adding this tip line. It's almost insulting to the guest.

I've eaten at the Village Deli in The Village District in Raleigh many times and alway had a great experience. The Wake Forest restaurant is the same quality. This was a great place to meet. I had chicken salad on a croisant--delicious. Village Deli also has fresh cut lemons for iced tea. Great experience--I'll be back!
