I had walked to a neighboring restaurant for a late lunch and then decided to stop into D's, sit and have a glass of wine. Kelly greeted me as I sat at the bar and so kindly asked me about my day. I asked her about a glass of wine a customer just ordered and she provided me a sample. I ordered a glass and sat at the bar for about 30 minutes and enjoyed the glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. The atmosphere is super family friendly, there were several families in there at the time. It's a shop, so there are plenty of people in and out buying beer and wine. There's a bar with plenty of seating and TVs. There are a couple of booths as well. There are benches outside and a couple of heat lamps. They several events from wine tastings, wine and beer classes to fundraisers.

I've been to quite a few Total Wine shops and this location is the worst I've been to. There was a large spill on the ground that was there for quite awhile and the cashier was a bit rude to me during checkout. I would come back to try it again but overall, it wasn't the best experience. The only reason why I put 4 stars instead of 3 is because I was able to find my plum wine and a bunch of different local and imported beers.

They installed some Astro turf and a fire pit. They also have a chess and checkers set out front. Inside there is countertop seating and a nice selection of beer and wine. They also have snacks such as chips, candy and jerky. There is a pool table and small kitchen inside. The place was a luncheonette at some point. I hike and mountain bike in nearby Forest Ridge Park and it has become my go to place for a post hike / bike adult libation. They also sell some locally made products such as honey and BBQ products.

I stopped here last week and was pleasantly surprised at the beer and wine selection that were on shelves and in the coolers. Both are fairly extensive. There is a bar which is in the center of the space. They have a nice tap selection featuring beers from the Red Oak, Raleigh and Trophy Brewing companies. I sat and had a nice IPA from Bombshell Brewing. I then purchased a six pack of Hazy IPA from RBC. While I was leaving I noticed a Taco food truck pulling up for the night. Every liquor store in NZ will have the same price on all spirits, it's all regulated by the state of NC. Like Charleston, closed on Sundays, but they do stay open later so that's goodie guess, clean store and again a great friendly staff. Not much else, lots of Tequila for those margaritas!! We were pleasantly surprised to see 10 different beers on tap. The options were a perfect mix of summer beers- IPAs, lagers, wheat ales, etc. We sat at the bar and ended up chatting with the owner. He was so friendly and gave us great recommendations on beers and places to visit. The bar & shop areas were very clean, organized, and air conditioned.
