Ordered food with 3 large drinks signs posted everywhere Outside and on the receipt that the drinks are .99 cents all day. Instead they charged me $3.19 for every drink and when I complained to Kelly the manager to try to get a refund she said there is nothing she can do even though she acknowledged that the signs say .99 cents and also it advertised and printed on the bottom of the receipt saying that drinks are.99 cents. We still had obvious major issues finding this place. But- in this town on a business trip, with a horrid per diem, well, sonic fits the price. And, it opened today, so we and the rest of the surrounding area decided to try it out. I had no appetite whatsoever, food has not been on the bill for the last few days, but I was thirsty, so, my friend read me the menu, and I selected a strawberry slush and a vanilla shake. She got the watermelon freeze, we also picked up drinks for a couple of others. This took us over an hour waiting in line... but what else are you going to do in south bend? If you were in a car it would have easily taken a couple. People were friendly, but the teen aged help was not on the top of their game. Ok, first of all, not that hard to find if you've ever been shopping in South Bend before. Anyone who has come to see ND play has probably shopped on Grape Rd. and this is just a couple blocks away from prime shopping and close to many hotels. The people who had trouble finding this either had a really crappy GPS or are just plain dumb. I think Sonic is a tiny overpriced for what you get, otherwise I would have given it a 5. We've been to the one in Kokomo several times also. The burgers are great, the hot dogs are spectacular and the drinks choices are plentiful and tasty. This fast food chain is verrrrrry over rated. I never thought that fast food could be so expensive for just a few peices of food. Their menu options are vast and they have a wide variety of food to choose from, so far the burgers and fries I've had from their menu are mediocre at best. With high prices I was expecting amazing burgers and fries but the burgers tasted similar to McDonald's which to me is a rip off when you're expecting better quality. And the hot dogs they serve are generic grocery store hot dogs that they've dressed up with extra flare. If I eat a Chicago dog I like the real thing not an imitation of it. But surprisingly I like sonic's sides. They have great mozzarella sticks and cheddar bites, and their milk shake are great, especially the peanut butter Oreo shakes. But another down side is the wait time, at least at this location. Smh. I've never ordered anything from sonic's without having to wait anywhere from 15-35 minutes, even if I just ordered a milkshake. What takes them sooooo long???? Why??? They even take long when their not that busy!! When I do go to sonic's which isn't much...I stick to their side options and leave their burgers, hotdogs, and fries alone. I've had waaaaaaaaay better burgers, hotdogs, and fries at other places. And for the price of a meal (that is if you wanna order a burger with fries and a milkshake) I feel I could've eaten for around the same price at a real restaurant like Olive Garden, or Golden Corral. If you're not from the South, you may not fully appreciate what a treat it is to finally have a Sonic up here. Sonic was one of the special things about going down there to visit family, and it was always a sure bet that I would get a Sonic burger and chocolate shake on any trip south. Forget the rest of the stuff on the menu, get the burger and shake, or if you're thirsty - the cherry limeade. Sorry, but your service in the morning stinks! I'm coming thru just after 7:00 a.m. (on my way to work) for a large iced tea/lemonade drink. I'm the only customer @ this time of the day & the person who handled my order took 5 minutes before completing my drink order (yesterday). This morning, I again was Sonic's only customer. After 4 minutes of waiting following my order, the server comes to the window & says, "it'll be just a few more minutes." My reply was, "are you telling me that you do not have the beverage made?" Yes, is exactly what she was saying! They probably didn't have coffee made either, as an empty coffee pot was sitting in the window of the drive-thru. I told your server, "thanks, but no thanks," & I drove down to McDonald's. I was one of 6 cars in McDonald's drive thru, yet within 2 minutes, I had my iced tea with fresh lemon and was back on the road. Wish I could give a negative number! Amazing how ignorant the manager at this place is! I used my Verizon Smart Rewards to get BOGO free hamburgers and coney dogs. My husband and I each ordered and paid with our credit card. The girl delivered my coney dogs and took the coupon and then went back for the hamburgers. She came back out and told us her manager would not honor our coupon (never mind the coupon had their actual address on it and I just ran it off on Saturday). I told her she could take the hot dogs back (which she did) and keep the cheeseburgers but that I needed receipts showing my credit card was credited back for each purchase ($4.38 and $4.48).
