What can they improve... Where do I start... The management is absolutely terrible. They always make everyone go through the drive thru rather than the drive up spaces to order. Seems to be pure laziness even when multiple people are working. It kind of ruins the experience because we want to whole old school pull up and order and have it brought out. If we wanted to go through the drive thru we would go somewhere with better tasting food. Grilled cheese is more like a stale half melted cheese sandwich that typically tastes like dirty grill. The food seems to be subpar. We have tried going there 5 times in the last few months and somehow it keeps getting worse due to poor employee attitude. Not sure how much worse it can actually get, which is a shame because it could be really cool like when it first opened and they actually came out with smiles and some even wore roller skates and the aesthetic was on point. I have been to Sonic I think 1 other time. I rarely go to fast food places but when I do it's usually McDonalds for a McFlurry ice cream treat. Anyway I've been bombarded with advertisements promoting theeee Oreo's Alamode for a little bit so I thought I would give it a try. On the commercial I thought I remembered the ice cream being larger. Wishful thinking? Selective memory? 10/9/19 at around 1:40 I went through the drive through. There were only 2 cars ahead of me and it seemed to take a while. I was on lunch break and had shopped at my nearby Aldi and Sonic is conveniently located nearby. When I got my ala mode I thought "is this a joke?!" A very very very very (did I say very?!) small ice cream portion and in a separate bag 3 hot battered fried and not greasy Oreos. When I got home I unpacked my Aldi groceries and enjoyed the dessert immensely. Although the ice cream was small it was thick and seemed to be decent quality vanilla ice cream. The Oreos were hot and luscious with meaty cream filling in the center. Ohh so good! I loved the dessert and for a whopping 3.17 it's in my price point. I got my "Oreo alamode fix" and though I enjoyed it I don't see myself rushing back to Sonic. A very indulgent treat and so good for a dessert enthusiast like myself. read more

Being from Hawaii, there is no Sonic, so naturally I had to try it. Food: Super Sonic cheeseburger - Tastes like Burger King. I was told that Sonic is up there with In N Out. I've had two experiences so far with this location. Both times with attempts to use the mobile app. If you can get it to work you're probably lucky. This last time I had to request a refund. 1st time - When i arrived at one of the drive-up kiosk it said that my order was being made when I checked in via the app. I waited 30 mins before it eventually shut-off after saying my order was being brought to me. I was forced to press the button and call in to ask them where my order was the response I got? "We had no idea you were here." 2nd time - The app stated that I could place orders with this location up and until 10:40pm. I place mine at 10:05pm, 55 mins before the posted closing time. When I got there? Their shift manager watched me pull on, looked me in the eyes. And then shut off the lights.. when I called the store? Their excuse was "we don't know why you were able to place that order, the store closes at 10." I had to waste another several minutes on hold to get a refund. I do not recommend this place at all anymore .. since it reopened after being shut down for months, it's been nothing but terrible. I have gone about 5 times now to get a Ice-cream , and each time I go they say "we are all out of ice cream" .. the sonic blasts are one of the more popular items on the list, and they are always out of ice cream ??? This place always has an issue. We go for ice cream one night at 7:30, and they tell us they were told to start cleaning the ice cream machine earlier. We go back a week later around the same time, and the drive thru is blocked off. I called the store to find out why the store was closed early, and the person that answer said the manager told them to. Finding a Sonic was like finding an Easter Egg. You search and search and get SO excited when you find one, but then realize it's still just an egg. Sonic is still just a fast food joint. However, the idea of an old fashioned drive-thru with people bringing your food to your car is appealing. The food is pretty good. I am not a fan of fast food burgers, but I can say that their burgers aren't too bad. I also like that they offer a lot of different items that other places don't have. And their bfast menu is pretty hefty. Also, their drink menu is definitely impressive, with their flavored lemon/lime-ades and let's not forget about their milkshakes and Sonic Blasts, Oreo is my fave. And if you're not satisfied with the experience, drive 4 mins for some retail therapy at the Phila Premium Outlets.. and pack an order of tots for the trip. read more

Don't bother with the drive thru service because you'll just wait, and wait, then wait some more THEN when you get home you'll realize that they completely messed up your order. So far, that's happened 2 times to me. It won't happen again. We have also gone and parked and the service really wasn't all that much better. You still have the hit or miss service. You may get someone enthusiastic or some wanna be emo kid who's just thinking about how he'd like to off himself by being buried in the drive up trash bins. I'd never actually been to a Sonic before but I had always wondered about them. So it was perfect when they built one very close by! For a few weeks, the place was so packed that we didn't even try to go. Incredible lines! We went the other night though and things have calmed down to the point where we could just drive right in. What makes this place unique is the "drive-in" setting. You pull into a parking space and right there you have a full menu. When you know what you want, you press the button and tell the attendant your order. You then pay by card right there and soon enough your food is brought right out to you. That's pretty much all there is to it. Kinda neat I thought, I dug the 50's vibe. So we've established that the experience itself is kinda cool, but how is the food? I ordered a hamburger and large fries, my wife got a cheeseburger, regular fries, and a milkshake, and our daughter got the chicken strips, tater tots, and a chocolate milk. This was a comfort food meal because we are all recovering from colds! Our meal was delivered to the car pretty quick. I was kinda bummed to see that they sent me two cheeseburgers instead of hamburgers. This always happens to me, its some sort of kink in the universe that I have come to accept. Let's rate the food: Hamburger, Chicken Strips, and Cheeseburger: Good overall. No better than what you'd get at Wendy's, Burger King, or McDonalds though. One of my hamburger buns was actually a little stale, kinda hard. They were kind of sloppily put together too, I've seen better hamburgers "built" in similar fast food places. The chicken strips looked good, my daughter liked them. Fries and Tater Tots: The fries were decent, but Burger King and McDonalds easily bests them. Their "large" fry is really not all that large actually, kind of surprising in this day and age of "value meals". The tater tots were absolutely atrocious though. They had obviously been made about 3 weeks earlier and were left to sit under a light bulb before being served to us. I'd be embarrassed to send something like that out. And Sonic is batting 1.000 because both the fries and tater tots were lukewarm at best. Chocolate Milkshake: Unfortunately, the "chocolate" milkshake was not as rich as what you might have gotten back in the "drive-in" days. This is your basic vanilla ice cream mixed with chocolate syrup to create a very "vanilla" chocolate milkshake, if you will. Boooring. It all amounts to a rather stale experience that the cool 50's drive-in concept just couldn't save. Perhaps if the place had been swamped I could understand, but there is no reason for our food to have been sloppy, lukewarm, and just plain unsatisfying. What this comes down to is that if you need the campy drive-in experience and don't mind throwing your diet away on mediocre food, then you should go here. Me? If I'm doing a burger and fries (which is very rarely) I'm going to get it from a place that at least serves me fresh and hot food. As far as fast food goes, it's above average. The problem I have is with the consistency of the food--stone cold, gross burgers on one trip, hot, perfectly prepared burger on another trip. Luckily, they're pretty good more often than not. The onion rings are really bland and do taste more like (bland) funnel cake as another reviewer said. The tots and fries are often overly salty and sometimes undercooked. The new dogs aren't great--the toppings are better than the dogs themselves. Sonic doesn't have great food (at all) but the combos are plentiful and inexpensive. I like that they offer tots with the combos and kids meals. We come to sonic to watch the workers skate over and pray that they don't fall. My son jokes he's gonna carry index cards with numbers on them to rate any wipeouts. We also always come to Sonic for the desserts. Whether afternoon or late night you can get your inner fat girl/guy on and enjoy a slush, ade, milkshake or sonic blast creation. Know what I'm sayin? They closed around covid and sucked then...decided to give them another chance now they are "reopen." Went there for a pick up order at closing time only to get home and discover one of my meals were missing, and the others chicken sandwich was not edible. I called the following day to ask for a refund for the meal I didn't receive and the chicken sandwich I couldn't eat. As a customer you would think Sonic would try and rectify the situation but their response still has me shaking my head. They first they asked me if I still had the food. I asked them the food that you never gave me or the chicken sandwich that got thrown away? They said since I don't have the food still and ate the French fries they couldn't give me and money back. When I questioned this, they then offered me a 5$ gift card...I told them 5$ would not even pay for the meal i bought and had not received. They pretty much told me oh well. I explained that I didn't want a 5$ gift card I would like my 30$ some dollars back for the crap food they sold me and the food I didn't get. They were suppose to have another manager call me back but I am yet to receive anything. Drive-thru addict checks in. I was here in December of 2012. I will confess that I have been here many, many times before. What makes me keep coming back? The food. I ordered the medium combo. When I unwrapped the burger it was actually steaming! A dream come true! A steaming hot burger! Yum! The service has always been quick and friendly. I don't know what happened to this sonic, it used to be great, I never had any problems here but for the past couple weeks whenever I've been coming they have cones blocking the drive thru even though they should be open. Tonight I came just to see if I'll get lucky and they'll be open but they yet again had cones up, but as I pulled up a girl came out and removed the cones, so I happily went to the speaker and ordered with no problem. Then I got to the window and waited well over 10 minutes, then the lady at the window swung open the window, very VERY quickly said muttered "sorry about that have a good night" and quickly shut the window. Then I open my bag and my fries are freezing, and my sandwich I could tell had to have been just a pre made sandwich cause it had all the toppings I asked to not have on it and it was freezing as well. If you haven't been to a Sonic, just go and get a cherry limeade. It's the most refreshing drink in the summer! Since this location is close to me, I use the drive-thru and skip the car-side service. But again, if you've never been to a Sonic (or any drive-in) then try it at least once. Before 11 AM, large drinks are $0.99 and between 2-4 PM is Happy Hour, and drinks are half price. Where do I even start with Sonic? Most of the other reviews on this place are true. The food never comes out hot, no matter if you eat there (in your car or at an outside table) or bring it home. Sometimes there can be a long wait for the drive thru. Never seem to wait that long when I'm eating there. The food menu isn't really all that big, but their drink menu offers a wide variety of choices. You can mix and match flavors anyway you like. Sonic also offers some food choices you can't get anywhere else around here like a footlong chili cheese dog or the cheesy tots. All in all, it's good if you're sick of McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King. I mean, it's still fast food and not in the least bit good for you; but when you want a different taste Sonic is pretty good for that. read more

I have been to this Sonic a number of times since it has opened. I never had any issues except for the last few times I used the drive thru. NEVER AGAIN! The first of my last 3 experiences we waited a long time in the drive thru line to find that our Raspberry Ice Teas were undrinkable because there was way too much syrup in them. On the 2nd visit I actually pulled out of line after I ordered because I waited over 13 minutes with still 3 cars ahead of me. So today I tried my 3rd drive thru visit. The wait time was still long but much shorter than the last 2 visits however after pulling away I realized that they had missed a Chicago Dog that was ordered and paid for and all 3 of our Raspberry ice teas were undrinkable again.
