The time it takes at this fast food joint, especially when ordered ahead is ridiculous. Fifteen minutes for which I saw my order attempting to be delivered to the wrong stall I call out the window to which I receive no reply and then watch it return to the kitchen to sit while 5 other order are delivered. I was able to flag down the carhop to which I was told my food wasn't ready yet. I ordered tots. TOTS! Ehich 3 more orders were delivered and then my order. Which was at that point cold. And the slush was a third the way melted ... So. Struggle bus a bit here... The lot was clean and car stalls were cleared. The pickle slush was interesting. Kinda refreshing but salty and a bit sweet. I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. May try it again with someone adventurous. But I was NOT expecting that pickle to have such a kick of spice! If I could give negative stars, I would!! I waited almost 40 minutes, I asked three times about my order and the reply I got was " We're working on it" All I ordered was a cheeseburger and a drink. I live in North Carolina, and came to South Carolina for a summer trip with my family. Not only did we get there at 9:24 pm but we left at 10:14. We spent 49 minutes there waiting for them to get our order right. I have a family of 4 and we only got a sweet treat for 3 of us. 2 sonic blasts and a BLUE RASPBERRY cream slush. We ordered and someone came out because the speakers weren't working. We then sat there for 5 minutes when a worker came out with a blue slush and 3 blasts. One sonic blast was correct but the other two were not.( we also only ordered TWO SONIC BLASTS) The cream slush was also not Blue Raspberry but was Blue Coconut. They then proceeded to come back and forth and at one point the person who made the slush came out and never returned. It took one of my family members getting out of the car and going in to talk to them 50 minutes later. On top of that half of the ordering boards were out of order and the drive through was closed. read more

I ordered ahead online and my food arrived cold yet my shake arrived melted. Mind you, I placed this order 7 minutes prior to arrival. In the picture of the mozzarella sticks I ordered, marinara sauce was in the picture. There was no sauce to be seen :( On top of that there was a car parked across from us with his brights on. I know this is not Sonic's fault but maybe investing in a sign would improve my time here. I hate to give any food establishment a 1 or 2 in these times. I was nostalgic for the Sonics from my former state, and decided to swing in for a burger. Years ago, my fave thing about Sonic was that I didn't ever have to say "no this, no that, or add mustard." I could order by number and get exactly what I wanted. That feature is long gone. The order took quite awhile, but many places are short staffed--I don't take away stars for that. The gentleman who took the order was friendly and when delivering to the car he apologized for the wait. The unsweetened iced tea was fine. The fries were mostly cold (I tossed these). The burger was less than "nothing special." The bun wasn't fresh and the lettuce and tomato even less so. As a positive mention, the bacon was crispy. However, there was very little. As you can see from the pic, I wasn't certain they actually added cheese. They did, but it was all on half the burger. All in all a disappointment. read more

I e been coming here for years. It's had its ups and downs. Today was a quick trip Ordered a milkshake for my daughter who had oral surgery today and a Chicken Slinger for me with extra pickles and Sonic Special Sauce. It came with 2 pickles and 2 tiny dabs of mayo. I just tapped the order button and asked for special, I didn't complain because I know they're short staffed. Sonic Drive-In on Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant is a great place to go for delicious burgers, drinks, and much more. I really like the location and everything that they have available here. I came here after work with a friend to relax, and obnoxious boys were blasting music and standing on top of their car. HOWEVER, Sydney absolutely saved my day. I addressed to her that I had a peanut allergy and she went above and beyond to meet my needs. She was such a queen and she's so pretty and nice. I normally don't post reviews for fast food spots, but after reading through all of the poor reports for this location, I felt the need to weigh in. I'm wondering if changes have been made by management in response to all of the 1 and 2 star reviews, because we saw none of the issues that others have reported. The service was quick and very friendly and the food was great. I also thought it was very clean and well-maintained. I would strongly recommend that anyone who has had a bad experience with this Sonic giving it another chance and that anyone who is avoiding it based on prior reviews considers trying it out. read more

Worst customer service in Mt Pleasant. Stopped by on a weekend in December 2023 at noon and they were closed. Went by a couple of weeks later and there was only one other customer in a stall. Hit button and no response for 5-10 minutes. Guy smoking cigarette must have been manager and spent several minutes smoking and another employee sat in a car on their phone. When the guy responded to the order, said it would take 10-15 minutes before he could take my order in a smart ass manner. read more

Absolutely horrible, first the food took nearly 30 minutes and all we got was 2 foot long hot dogs, Chili Cheese Fries, and Mozzarella sticks. Second, the food is terrible, the hot dogs are nearly burnt to a crisp, a the top is burnt obviously and the bottoms are completely black from end to end. The Fries are super soggy and undercooked, the mozzarella sticks are undercooked and just taste bland. This was a horrible experience and I would not recommend you try this place. read more

I waited past an hour and was getting tired of waiting but guess what ? A worker cane outside and asked me if I was waiting for an order , they proceed Togo back inside and took another 10 minutes . Absolutely the worst place ever. It took them about a half hour to an hour to bring our food out then they got the order wrong and they forgot a drink, which we didn't realize till we came back. I tried to call them but no one answered and I called multiple times. I had to go through customer service which they didn't even help with anything that was wrong. Honestly I keep on giving this place a try because I think that they'll do better. But each time I feel like I'm more and more disappointed. When I was in high school this place used to be so good and so amazing for fast food but now it seems like every time my food comes out it's cold, hard, and watered down. The last two times I ordered ahead on my mobile app and came to pick it up my food literally was so cold but I was there in 5 minutes to get my food because we live right there in dunes west. And each time I ordered mozzarella sticks I NEVER got my marinara even though it states on the order comes with marinara and you can't even change the sauce it should come with every mozzarella sticks order. So sad, not sure if the management changed but seems like no one cares at all or tries at this place anymore. We got some tonight and our fries were soggy and cold. Probably never going there again.
