    Banana peppers n onion pizza.

Waitress was great! Went to watch the game on Sunday and wasn't sure if it was an Eagles bar still but most tvs were showing the Eagles game. Food was pretty good but the waitress made the experience great!

Clean restaurant and friendly staff. The mushroom pizza was full of flavor with plenty of toppings and a fresh thin crust. Gluten free crust is available as well, in addition to dairy free cheese. The mild wings were doused in sauce and meaty.

Tucked between the mundane and the marvelous lies a portal to another realm: Mellow Mushroom of Mount Pleasant. From the moment you cross the threshold, reality seems to bend. Walls adorned with psychedelic spells and enchanted murals whisper tales of pizza legends past. As I summoned my first pie -- the Holy Shiitake -- I could swear I saw a puff of garlic-parmesan smoke swirl into the shape of a truffle. The crust, kissed by fire and perhaps a dragon or two, crackled with golden perfection. The cheese? Melted moonlight. The toppings? Foraged from the forests of flavor and hand-picked by pizza pixies. The Kosmic Karma is not just vegetarian; it's divinely ordained. A harmony of spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and feta that feels like biting into a spellbook of ancient taste. The potions (I mean, craft beers) flow freely, and each sip transports you deeper into a groovy dimension where time slows and taste buds dance. Service is offered by friendly familiars -- cheerful and strangely attuned to your every craving. By the time dessert arrives -- if you have room in your enchanted stomach -- the mystical journey is complete. You leave not full, but fulfilled. Verdict: 5 out of 5 enchanted pizza stones.

I really hate to leave a bad review and try to work it out with the business first but buyer beware. Me and my mom spent $50 on pizza, expecting something a bit above the quality of your run of the mill papa johns. We received a sad version of a great white (pictured is what we got vs the picture on their takeout website) and a veggie calzone with 3 pieces of spinach. I work in F&B and can understand a slam or late night etc. but that it unacceptable to send out of the kitchen especially at those prices. When I called about the issue, I was left on hold for 21 minutes and if I had not gotten up to drive over they probably would have waited for me to hang up. Was told the manager was busy and would be with me in a second, but when I walked in the host and manager where chatting and giggling at the front desk. Sad way to lose a customer but poor food, lack of quality control, and a lack of caring about the business and customers by staff all together is unacceptable.

    Air bubbles aren't fun

Overall: A bit pricey, but Mellow Mush serves up some great pies. The good: We've had Mellow multiple times in different locations, and the good news is that the pizza is always great. Lots of toppings, awesome crust, and interesting combinations. While it's a bit over-the-top, I dig the ambience of the restaurants too. Service at this location was friendly and on time. The not-so-good: Three pieces of our carryout pizza had massive air bubbles, causing half of each of those those slices to no sauce/toppings (pictured). I give them the benefit of the doubt though, hoping that it doesn't happen every time. Also, the prices are pretty high for pizza. $30 for a large is a bit extreme. Food/drink: 8/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10

The moment you walk in, you're greeted with a bright, cheerful space, flowers everywhere and the welcoming smell of fresh waffle cones being made right behind the counter. The staff? Warm, patient, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping you find your new favorite flavor. Whether you're a kid, a grandparent, or somewhere in between, you're treated like a regular. The ice cream. It's next level. Every flavor is creamy, decadent, and clearly crafted with care--no mass-produced shortcuts here. Local favorites like horchata, mango chili, and tres leches sit beside classics like cookies & cream and chocolate fudge brownie. You can taste the difference, and honestly, I'd choose Dulce over any big-name creamery in Charleston. Plus, prices are more than fair for the quality and portion size--great value for families or just an indulgent solo treat. Don't miss.. it's fabulous

On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

We walked in and the place was emptier than a church on a Wednesday night, yet somehow we were told to head on over to the bar, wait for a table, and go ahead and order ourselves a drink. Didn't make much sense, but we did as we were told. Then we stood there a good 10 minutes while the bartender, who let us know he's studying to be a dentist up in Spartanburg, was busy chatting away with another customer like we weren't even there. When he finally got around to us, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. But the real kicker came after we finally got our drinks. The manager came up, and I kid you not, told us we had to leave the restaurant and go out to the parking lot to finish them. No explanation, just attitude, and not a polite one either. To be honest, the manager seemed like she might have had a little too much Easter spirit, if you catch my drift. The whole interaction was downright combative and made us feel completely unwelcome. What really got me, though, was the poor hostesses and waitstaff. They apologized to us over and over and quietly let us know this kind of situation is something they deal with on a daily basis. We even heard her speaking sharply to another customer, which made it clear this wasn't just a one time issue. Honestly, the whole experience felt like a bad trip to the dentist and cost about the same as a root canal. All in all, it was a mess from start to finish, rude, confusing, and about as un Southern hospitality as you can get. I would think twice before going back, y'all.

I also love the interior color used, as it is warm and relaxing. We like to sit at the booth bars, as they are just 2 tops, but give an added privacy by the design. Lola Rose features a comforting and approachable menu of big, seasonal salads, wood-fired pizzas, housemade pastas, local seafood and traditional mains. At the bar, classic favorites are served alongside creative spritzes and cocktails, local beer, and a wine list that focuses on Mediterranean and coastal American winemakers. Plus Lola Rose is the second concept from James Beard award-nominated chef Kevin Johnson and his wife Susan, who opened The Grocery in downtown Charleston in 2011. We have had the pleasure of seeing him in action and he is always approachable to the guests. We have visited Lola Rose several times and enjoyed many menu items. The rosemary focaccia is always a must order. Other great starters are the arancini, Sicilian meatballs, and our favorite is the roasted beets. Another great option to start is with a pizza, they have 9 different pizzas to choose from. Then an appropriate entree would be a pasta dish, we like the rigatoni verde and the bucatini. Note their pastas are all made in house. On our most recent visit we ordered the seasonal Softshell Crab special, and it was impressive and more delicious then expected. We appreciate that they had this item during the softie season, and this tops our list. Don't forget dessert as the budino and limencello cake are delicious sweet endings. Lola Rose makes going to downtown Charleston un-necessary, and it's location is easy to get to with plenty of parking. The service and the menu make it worth the visit, and we would recommend to all.

The manager also seems to recognize us every time we come in, no matter how long it's been since our last visit, which is a nice personal touch. The open kitchen adds a fun element to the experience. One of our favorites is the orecchiette ragu pasta -- we always ask for extra sauce, and it's absolutely delightful. We were a little disappointed that the calamari wasn't available on this visit, but we still really enjoyed the arancini, which are served with a wonderful tomato dipping sauce. We've honestly never had a bad meal here. My husband tried the shrimp pasta dish this time and really enjoyed it -- it had a nice little bit of spice that added great flavor without being overpowering. Overall, the fresh pastas, pizzas, and appetizers are all great choices. They also offer a fun happy hour with discounted appetizers and drinks. Definitely a place worth stopping into, and next time we're hoping to enjoy the outside patio when the weather is a little warmer.
