Unpopular opinion after reading reviews, but we have had decent service and delivery when it comes to our orders at this Sonic. Very conveniently located to Fort Leavenworth. We do not often do fast food unless traveling or someone aka mom is sick and can't fathom dinner. We use this Sonic for treats and once I have gone for the wacky pack Wednesday special for my toddler. I have never had an issue with an order and everything has always been exact. Love the location to post and it makes it an easy choice. read more

Used the drive through twice with my two co-workers on the last 3 days. All of our meals were good, service was timely and the price was right. Nothing to complain about minus the food wasn't that great. Typical fast food but that's why you come here, right? I stopped in for a Route 44 Dr Pepper which as always was just the right off the charts in terms of syrupy goodness. The wait was a bit long as there were only two cars in front of me tho, and I forget how much those Route 44's cost unless you buy them during happy hour. Still a nice treat now and again so I'll be back the next time I need a fix. read more

Prepare yourself for a Sonic boom of crap ... like a #2 Double Cheeseburger with Mustard ... appropriately labeled a deuce for being a turd of a burger. Honestly, it was kind of fun (and convenient since most regular Leavenworth restaurants were already closed) to pull into a Sonic parking spot at night and have genuinely friendly service bringing fast food straight to our car window ... until I discovered it was just really really crappy fast food. This place is trash!!! haven't been here in over a year but tonight I decided to give it a try. Ordered a number one with no tomatoes a large fry. I went straight home, which took me three minutes and by the time I got there and opened everything up. My burger was soggy with mayo all over the outside of the bun and the wrapper. We come here so often for the waffle cone ice cream. I give the snickers toppings and my husband is the waffle cone with strawberry toppings. If you just want a regular topping I would suggest you order the waffle cone and then a topping versus a special waffle cone and taking off what you don't want on it. They have a military discount which is 10% I believe. The little hot dogs and chicken sandwich is that our new I forgot the name but they're really good. The staff here always polite energetic and pleasant to speak to, and easy-going with transactions. It's located right outside the base which is very convenient for me and my husband when we have a sweet tooth. Of course I would love this place even more of happy hour was longer I always tend to miss the hours. Giving this Sonic 4 stars for the following- First, like all Sonics the food is cheap, bad for you, but tasty. This particular Sonic has great customer service as of late. The drive through line was backed up during an off hour- who knows why? I was stuck in it with a hungry kiddo in the swagger wagon; they actually came out to where I was in line and brought me half my order and even did the card transaction. By the time I finally got to the window, it was just a quick 'hand me the drinks' action and I was on my way. Very polite- fast service with employees willing to modify their own practices to make things better. A lesser restaurant staff would have continued snapping their gum and doing the process in a mind-numbingly inefficient manner. Good initiative, Sonic employees! You made a 3 star into a 4 just for that. read more

I give this Sonic one star as it needs some improvement. Not with the food, but with the staff. I have gone to this Sonic a number of times, only to have some troubling experiences with this one in particular. So i will list them accordingly. Incident # 1 I went to this Sonic and ordered my food and it came out in a reasonable time frame, the problem was when the young girl went to give me my change and handed me a fake $1.00 bill. I saw immediately that the bill was fake, as it was printed on white paper and did not look like the other money she was holding in her hand, and the ink was not right. I refused the bill and explained why, she shrugged and gave me a different bill. While i know a $1.00 bill is not much, but it was clearly something to me. When i got to work i called the restaurant and spoke to the manager and reported to him what transpired, he verbally blew it off. I explained the paper and the ink difference to him, but he seemed not to care. Incident # 2 I ordered my food for the lunch hour, the person takes the order, and then nothing. I wait 20 min. only to push the button again, this time i was told my order will be out soon. I wait another 15 min. and i push the red button again. Now i am on lunch break and only have an hour before i have to be back to work with my food and my co-workers food. The person came on, after pressing the button, only to get mad when i asked again where my food was. The person told me they had no order for me, so i had to re-order my lunch food and hurry back to work. I know they employ teens and young adults here, but i was disturbed more about the fact the manager on duty did not care enough about the staff passing phony bills out to customers, then anything else. read more

They have screwed up 50-60% of all the orders I have made here. Theyve given me entire orders wrong and missed items that i had ordered. They have also given me items that i ordered, but not to my specifications (like a hot fudge Sunday becomes a cherry caramel Sunday). They have also double charged me for two meals because I paid at the drive ins and then the car hops came out with a bill and when told that I had paid automatically said it didn't go trough even though it did. Awful Sonic! Was in Leavenworth and my family and I decided to stop and get some drinks and tots from here. First thing that was bad is when we were getting our order taken everything was wrong and we told the guy and nothing changed. Then we sat at the sonic for a good 15 minutes before we even got our order that was half wrong. We had order a Coke Zero, Lemonade Slush, Diet Cherry Limeade, and a large tots. But instead of our Diet Cherry Limeade we got a regular limeade which is just too thick (from the syrup that is why we get the diet version) and then we got a medium French Fry. Wrong orders, slow service, and no other car hops besides 1 rude guy. Will not be visiting this Sonic again. Will just have to wait until I come home to go to the Tongie Sonic. read more

I ordered a small Butterfinger Blast, small M&M Blast, and small Banana Malt, and had asked for a military discount. The order took almost 15 minutes to arrive. The stall on the receipt was listed as ''??'' and I saw the carhop wandering through the lot to find the spot. When I asked about a military discount, he was unaware of it, and by that time I did not feel like trying to ask for one if it was going to take as long as the order did. The carhop did not have straws, and after asking for one, took another 5 minutes for the straw to arrive. I realized I probably should've not asked for one if I had known the wait was going to be another 5 minutes. Finally, the malt powder and bananas had congealed into a single lump at the bottom of the malt cup, so I assume it was not mixed in. This is the second time I have had slow service (the first was about a year ago) on a drink-only order at this Sonic, but it is VERY unlikely I will come back to this Sonic again based on this experience. I don't normally do reviews, but want to give credit where it's due. Bottom line, if you don't want to read any further: this franchise's customer service is absolutely great and their people go "above and beyond" to ensure a pleasant experience. I don't live in Leavenworth, KS and have only been to this Sonic once; but that one visit showed me that whomever is managing/leading that franchise truly values customer service. My wife and I passed through there with our 3 yr old son...everything that could have gone wrong for us up to that point that day did, so we just wanted to get some comfort food and put the day behind us. They delivered exactly what we ordered and very quickly. Then I dropped my 3yr old's milkshake and he fell apart....straw that broke the camel's back. So it's freezing cold outside, my kid's crying his head off, and my wife and I are at our breaking point. I told the carhop (waiter) what happened and asked to buy another milkshake. They brought another one to us in 2 minutes, would not let us pay for it, and on top of that, the manager gave us free voucher for our next visit. Who does things like that anymore? We're only talking about a few dollars here, but it's not the money...it's the thought and care that went behind their actions. That's customer service that goes above and beyond.
