I'm not particularly sure where to rate this one. I can only select whole numbers, but in reality I think I would give it a 3.5 So, a 4 Star just sounds like too much. I mean, upper tier sandwich fast food chain or not, it's still a sandwich based fast food chain. So 4/5 stars would require something like way above and beyond... yet i feel a 2 star would require something rather bad happening. And as it stands, nobody here does anything bad, and nobody does anything incredible. So, a solid 3. So where does the .5 come in? Well, my limited experience here as I travel to Ft Leavenworth once per quarter (and this place is near the hotel), has treated me well. The same which itself, like the turkey especially, is just, good! The place is clean and not too busy. Decorated like a normal Jimmy John's. The service is just right. Lost one star because, honestly, they are not freaky fast. I went through the drive thru which is narrow and has a sharp turn. The new spicy Italian was delicious and is a great addition to the menu. Went there the first time ever. Got a ceasar wrap that was amazing. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because their customer service is not good. I was the only one in the restaurant with 1 car in the drive thru. There were several employees standing around. No one greets you . I just stood there looking at them for a few seconds. Then I asked them how do I order. They just looked over at the sandwich making area. I ordered my food and asked for extra mayo. Jimmy John's in Lansing made this first time mamma cry! I ordered a simple Turkey Tom with no tomato (my usual), and thought I had enough money in my account to pay for it, which I did. But sure enough I had grabbed the wrong card... the card linked to an account with $0 in it. It declined over and over. I mustered up a dollar 25 and asked them to try again. I tried transferring money, but it wasn't going through. My card still declined and I felt so embarrassed and defeated! The wonderful woman working the register gave me the sandwich when I only had $1.25 to give. I left in tears! This location is the most friendly, quick, and amazing one I have been to. With a 4 month old son who is teething and crying non stop, I am exhausted. I barely have time to get dressed and shower, let alone eat anything. I'm exhausted and Jimmy John's made my day so much better! Now this mama gets a meal in her car while the baby naps and I have a little more energy! Thank you to the wonderful cashier who helped a fellow woman out. I wish I would've caught your name so I could call corporate and let them know how wonderful you are! I love JJ's sandwiches! Stopped by today and ordered 2 sandwiches and chips for $23.00. Got the window and the cashier said "We do not accept $50 dollar bills." I asked for the manager to see what the deal was. He came to the window (propped open due to the heat) and pulled out the stops to close it and point a tiny sign - No Bills Bigger than $20. I politely asked him why and was that a corporate policy. He got peeved and said loudly, "Because we don't!" He stalked off and continued to mumble under his breath, I assumed it was about stupid customers. I apologized to the cashier and told him it was not his fault his boss was a jerk. Took my order and left. All I wanted was a reasonable explanation - too many counterfeits, we can't make change, something other than we have no reason except to piss off our customers. I ordered through door dash and was told they run deliveries at the store and that I wouldn't be able to track my order normally. That was fine. It snowed last night so I gave them 20 minutes and still hadn't heard anything from them. I go down to check and my order was sitting in the snow for Lord knows how long. My order hadn't been "completed" on door dash and I didn't get any notification from them regarding the delivery. Ordered 3 sandwiches. One came with cheese and the other two did not. I was charged $1.00 for cheese on each of those sandwiches. When I arrived home I discovered that the two I paid extra for cheese did not have cheese on them. The one that did have cheese had two slices of cheese that were paper thin. Ordered a slim tuna with avocado on 9 grain wheat. Delivery was right on time! Tuna and avocado, a-ok! Bread crust was very dry. I normally love crust but had to de-crust this bread in order to enjoy the sandwich. (I've had the bread previously and crust was not like this.) read more

They've finally dropped the quality so low that I won't go back after 15 years of loyalty to the Turkey Tom across three states. The bread is now bland and stale tasting, the quantity of toppings per sandwich is about a quarter what it once was, and at this location, their employees are not trained well enough to make the sandwiches as described on the menu without messing something up every time. Something happened very recently (did they change ownership/management at the corporate level??) that has taken away any redeeming qualities they had left. Goodbye, old friend. read more

ok, I try to give places I have never been to a chance to prove themselves. that being said, I was at st. john's hospital in leavenworth due to my mother's hospitalization. the cafeteria in the hospital was closed, and the nurses suggested that I order Jimmy Johns and even bragged about how quickly they deliver. I ordered a giant turkey sub with guacamole added. the nurses were right about the delivery, it was fast and the girl who brought my food was very friendly. However, the thrill was gone when I saw my sandwich. first the bread was hard enough to kill goliath...and I opened my sandwich searching for the guacamole and when i finally saw how much was on it, I got so mad that I called jimmy johns to find out where my guacamole went to die...I was told by the girl on the phone that they are only allowed to put a teaspoon of guacamole on a sandwich...i immediately looked at my ticket and seen that i was charged $1.00 for guacamole. I raised my voice a little and then had to remember i was in a hospital. I said," you charged me 1 dollar for a teaspoon of guacamole?" the girl said.."sorry, that is our policy." I told them that with subway and fireside subs to compete with, they may want to revamp their policy. I live 2.2 miles from JJs and for 3 years have had sandwiches delivered without question. Tonight I tried to order and the manager decided that I was outside the "delivery range." I checked the website and there is no delivery range specified. Why all of sudden am I out of "delivery range." The manager was polite but made a bunch of BS excuses about corporate rules - apparently just in effect tonight. I am saddened and disappointed that a franchise with such promise decides to disappoint. Maybe it was just too much work tonight to actual deliver on the promises JJ makes. read more

Just went to this Jimmy John's tonight. Sat and ate my sandwich, and then while my children were finishing, I idly watched the staff in the kitchen. The first thing I noticed is that two of the girls working there had hair that was untethered and flying everywhere. One of them had very nice long hair... but not something I want in my food. Next, I noticed that one of the girls was eating in the food prep area. She was standing by the sink, but that sink is about 2-3 feet from the meat slicer. She was in conversation with the girl with the hair, facing the meat slicer, talking with her mouth full of food. Yummy. Then, I watched as the kid slicing meat ate meat AS he was slicing it. With his gloved hands that are suppose to protect us from his germs.... Another customer came up, he popped another piece of meat into his mouth and went to take the guy's order. He then grabbed this guy's bread, with the same hand he had just had in his mouth, and proceeded to make his sandwich. I was pretty appalled at this point. As we got up to leave, I approached the counter to inform the manager about these transgressions. When I asked who the manager was, the kid from the meat slicer said he was the manager. Lovely. So I told him what I had seen and the girl with the sandwich flying from her mouth said she was facing the sink while she was eating... Honestly, I don't care if you were, you shouldn't be EATING in the food prep area. The "manager" denied that his hand had gone in his mouth.... once again, I don't care if your hand actually touched your mouth, it's nasty. So, in summary, don't eat here, the staff doesn't care if they pass on germs and diseases. If I could give this a negative five stars, I would. read more
