They gave me a salad that didn't even cover the bottom. I have more dressing than salad. How did the employees look at this and say: "YUP! Perfect!"? This isn't something that is easily missed. Giving 2 stars because at least the chocolate hazelnut shake tastes good.

The food was great, the ice cream was great, and the service was great. Enough said. They remodeled and the place looks awesome.

I'd give this place 5 stars if it wasn't for the experience I just had with my friends and family. Walked in today with my people 10/15/2026 around 5:30ish and off the bat server was rude and for some reason seemed annoyed at our presence. My friend was there before me and he as well said the waitress was rude. I was denied a drink solely because of my ID being vertical instead of horizontal. Which was no issue at all for it being their business at the end of the day. The problem I had was the sourness coming from the taller waitress serving us. There was no need for the scene she caused. Nevertheless, I understand this is a family owned and operated restaurant so not much for the server to worry about. Being open for 70+ years is impressive. This is for the new incoming soldiers/spouses or even newcomers to Leavenworth that're looking to try some new places. Seems like they like to cater towards the locals and regulars more than potential new customers. I'd suggest treating all customers the same regardless if it's their first time or not, seeing the way our waitress conducted herself with us comparatively to others near us was enough said. Maybe I'll bring my family back and give this place another shot. But for now, 2 stars it is.

Planning an event on short notice while grieving is incredibly overwhelming, but the owner Mary and her staff made the process completely seamless. They were organized and highly professional. On the day of the luncheon, the setup was perfect, the food was excellent, and our service was flawless. Many of our guests commented on how wonderful the historic venue was. Thanks to the entire staff for easing our burden and taking such good care of us. Our family would like to give a special thanks to our server, Bonnie. She was absolutely amazing. The Hammer Family

The train cars were packed to the rafters when we arrived, but the wait was well worth every minute. The moment we sat down, coffee mugs were ready to roll, accompanied by a basket of warm little donut holes delivering the kind of sweet, sugary punch every mid morning meal deserves. The drinks delivered across the board. I went with the Bloody Mary, served in a classic country jar with the perfect kick of spicy heat. I also snuck a sip of a friend's Mimosa toward the end of brunch, and it was equally refreshing and balanced. The food menu features plenty of creative twists, but the standout was the Smoked Chicken Eggs Benedict. The sweet and savory smoke profile on the chicken paired flawlessly with rich hollandaise and perfectly poached eggs. Across the table, the Reuben was a massive hit--I snagged a few of the accompanying housemade chips, and they were exceptionally crispy and well-seasoned. The Chef Salad and Black Bean Burger earned high marks from the rest of the crew, proving the scratch kitchen handles classic staples just as skillfully as their specialty items. Despite a completely full dining room, our server never missed a beat. He was fast, attentive, and didn't even flinch when an extra guest showed up late to our table. Terrific food, unique historic atmosphere, and top-tier hospitality. We'll definitely be back.
