Took nearly 10 minutes to have order taken than at least 30 minutes for the food. I only got the food after someone next to me that arrived significantly after me, received their food. I stopped the carhop and asked her to check on my order. I was given the excuse that only 3 people were working. She finally came out with melted drinks. And said "for future reference" the drive thru is quicker with the drinks. There's zero reason someone should have to go to a different part of the restaurant to get better service for the same product. Even if you're short staffed, people should be getting their orders in a timely manner. read more

When the customer service was so bad to the point I had to write a Yelp review about it. Last Saturday night (3/6) was my first time going to Sonics and my friends have been hyping up their milkshakes. It was very busy and it took awhile for the workers to take our order which is understandable as I also worked in food service so I know what it's like to be slammed with customers. When we were finally able to order, the person taking our order kept misunderstanding what we wanted and every time I tried to correct her the more you could hear the attitude in her tonality. Originally we wanted to order 1 cherry limeade drink, 1 cherry limeade slush with strawberry bits, 2 Oreo cheesecake milkshakes, and an Oreo peanut butter milkshake. For some reason, the girl taking our order kept misunderstanding the 2 different limeade drinks we wanted. There was a point where when we tried to correct her on it once again, she just told us our total and left the stall order. My friends tried to tell her again that the order was wrong so they pushed the button to speak to a worker and it took 20 or so just for someone to reply "I'll be right with you". It was at this point we were just going to settle for the drinks and just paid for it even though one of the drinks weren't what we ordered. However, it also took awhile for us to get our drinks. On the stall screen it said our order will be delivered to us shortly but then it stopped and reset itself. When we wanted to follow up with our order (mind you 30 minutes have passed already) the same girl came on the intercom and told us Sonics was not taking any stall orders at the time. When we tried to tell her that we already ordered and paid for it, she kept cutting us off that they're still not taking any orders instead of hearing what we had to say and ended the conversation before we could even say anything. At that point my friends were livid to the point one of them had to get out of the car and talk to a worker about it. When we were finally able to get our drinks and we asked the worker delivered it to us which drink was which he replied "idk I didn't make them" which did not sit right with me. At that point we were just over it, said thank you and tried to figure out which drink was which. You could tell the drinks have been sitting there for awhile as the limeade drink already had a lot of condensation on the cup and the whipped cream from the milkshake was melting. The drinks were okay. I'm not sure if it's because of the quality of it or just the customer service we received that made it taste worse than it would have been. We arrived around 7:05 PM and did not leave til 8:11 PM. We waited an hour just for drinks. For a first timer, this place really disappointed me and I would not come back here. read more

We had a horrible experience while enjoying our dessert tonight with our little boy. My husband started his car and our alarm got triggered and we were trying to get it to turn off. About 15 seconds later we were able to disarm it. Out walks a female employee and begins to yell at us demanding with a pointed finger who was honking the horn. My husband tried to explain and she cuts him off accusing him of deliberately honking the horn. Accusing us of lying, shouting at us was the last straw. I told her to stop yelling at my husband. She yelled that this is a restaurant and proceeds to walk away threatening to take our CLP number. I couldn't believe it. My family had just been sitting there in our vehicle the last 45 minutes talking and enjoying dessert. It was an awful way to end the night. Methinks not. So underwhelming, it's almost laughable. I came in around 11pm on a weekend. Saw the new "Crispy Tender Dinner" and figured I'd give it a shot. Tenders were so limp, so sad. Everything was cold as though it had been sitting out for hours. The tots, which sometimes are reasonable, were hard and gross. The texas "toast" was colder than all the rest. This was my first time going to Sonic Drive-In and my first time at this location. My friend was telling me about Sonic and what perfect way to cool off, especially on a hot day. We arrived and we were welcomed by the friendly cashier. There was a bit of a line for the drive thru, but it went by fast. I ordered a Large Lemonberry Slush Float (Limited Time). The float comes with three distinct layers with very different flavors. It starts with a Frozen Lemonade Slush at the bottom, followed by real vanilla ice cream in the middle, and finished with real strawberries on top. When I took a sip, it was delicious and refreshing. What I remember were the strawberries and the ice cream in their own layer. It's unfortunate that it's no longer around, but my guess is that it was only available for summer time. My overall experience was great at Sonic and the Lemonberry Slush Float was definitely a favorite. In my personal opinion, I would recommend Sonic Drive-In and the fact that they have a lot of other options for food and drinks, makes me want to return and try something new on their menu. read more

Gave this place several chances throughout the years and each visit got progressively worse. To name a few, very long waits in the drive thru when there's only three cars; buy a large combo meal and your fries are half full. For lunch recently, I pulled into the stall (#24), pressed the button to order and no one answered the call. There were 2 cars in the drive thru and 3 cars in the other stalls, so it wasn't busy. I even gave them a chance and waited 15 mins. Still no response, so I left and took my business elsewhere. This place ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. Zero Star Rating. The employees don't care anymore. After getting our order delivered and missing items, we pressed the red button to speak with someone. Took over 10min for someone to answer as we watched, from the first stall, staff messing around, the manager light a paper bag on fire, and chat with each other while ignoring parked cars. This location is awful. Every time I have visited this location, there's a problem, whether it's getting the wrong food, missing an item or the food not being hot. Today, I stopped by on the way to work to grab a quick breakfast and the speaker at the drive thru was not working--I could not hear the staff member's response. It was barely a whisper. After going back and forth a few times, I said I'd just place my order at the window. When I pulled forward, there was a truck in front of me and after waiting a good 5 minutes, I ended up leaving since I was running late. While the premises is well kept, the level of service could be better. The drive thru menu is also quite confusing and there are so many items listed, you practically need a magnifying glass to read it because the text is so small on some items. Went here the other day for lunch. Definitely one of my better experiences at a Sonic. I mean, it's fast food so my expectations are never very high, but fast food should mean that you are served quickly. Our food came out within a few minutes and the employee was very nice and friendly. Came right back out with extra condiments upon our request. and all food was nice and hot when it was brought out. the only thing I would say needs improvement at this location based on my visit is that the outside tables need to be wiped down more often. We were the only customers that were using any of the tables so after seeing the full coating of dust on our table, i quickly looked at each of the others and noticed the same thing. It only takes a few minutes for someone to come out with a wet rag and wipe down the tables each morning. read more

Happy hour 2-5!! 1/2 price on all drinks and slushes. I always get a large lemon berry slush. Chunks of strawberry bits and whole lemon wedges. Icy cold and refreshing! They also have happy hour snacks. At the window she gave me a dirty ass look and I proceeded to ask for hot sauce and ranch as I normally do. She ignored me and I thought maybe she didn't hear me so I waited until she gave me my card back and was about to ask again but as I was beginning to ask she already knew I was asking for hot sauce and ranch because she did in fact hear me the first time and choose to ignore me. She rudely said they don't have hot sauce and I ask for the salsa. Then I wait for a while and then she hands me my food with not a single word or expression. I understand Selena may be having a bad day because if I had her life working at Sonic looking like that I would be upset too, but I know damn well she can put on an act and at least pretend to be nice. Okay so here it goes...... I came here once a long time ago. They serve breakfast all day and they have cherry coke!! I ordered a breakfast sandwich, it wasn't even toasty!! I've been back a few times and I always order the same thing. For just under $6 I can get a breakfast combo. So when I have $6, it's after 11am and I want a breakfast sandwich I come here. The sandwich is still very yummy even though, the bread isn't toasty. As far as the tots go, they are always perfectly crispy. This place also has the best ice!! It is so addicting, they sell it so you know it's good!!! I always use the drive thru because seems it takes forever when you drive up and push the button. They do have an offer if you check in on yelp. I am not sure if they honor it since I didn't order that. They do send you text offers if you sign up. Always excited for their half off deals (usually during the summer nights) Nothing wrong with Sonics, but there's also not too much that stands out. It's a corporate fast food store, so you're gonna get what you get a fast foods. The cool thing back then was the food being served to you by the servers rollerblading them over. However, I've seen it once where they did spill. I've also seen them just walk the food over before without rollerblading. Sonics hits the spot when you want greasy food late at night. It comes at a decent price and with the deals, you can walk away with $20 worth of food for $10. 3 stars b/c ratings for me also incorporate what food and their food quality they provide. It is super sad when one of you childhood favorites doesn't live up to the memories you have and the hype you created for them. I absolutely loved spending Friday nights hitting up the Sonic drive-in when I first got my drivers license and my friends and I though we were the coolest things on the planet. Sadly, this location gives all Sonic locations a bad name. While driving through OC I saw the sign from the fwy and knew I needed to stop. Mistake #1... After pushing that familiar red button I waited, and waited. Oh! Then I waited some more. We sat there for nearly 30 minutes. I attributed it to the long line in the drive thru and figured it would have to be my turn soon. Mistake #2. After another few minutes a carhop came out carrying a tray but no food. He walked right past my open window and headed towards the back. I over hear him telling the girls a few cars away that they aren't doing carhop service right now, only drive thru. He never said anything to us but went on with his task outside. We figured we would just back out and into the drive-thru line as I was really craving a M&M Sonic Blast by this point. Mistake #3. We spend another 7 or 8 minutes in the drive thru before getting to the speaker box only to be told the blast machine isn't working but they could make it as a milkshake. Whatever, I am in to deep now, just give me the shake. Another 8-10 minutes later I finally have my turn at the window. To my surprise, the same guy who told the car full of people by is that carhop service wasn't going was bringing food out to cars parked in the order bays. WTH!? I pay for my three shakes and am slowly handed these 2/3 full cups of thick milk. They were horrible! I love when I order jalapeño poppers and all of them are still frozen on the inside. Came here just to grab a snack as I had a long drive ahead. I started my drive and reached over there I take a bite, first one cold on the inside. So I tried another one and it was also cold on the inside. This place sucks at customer service, and the app they push incessantly is always crashing or duplicating orders. They frequently mess up orders, but the last straw happened today, when they let me sit in the stall 20 min after placing an order, to say the slush machine is down. No offer to make things right with an alternate drink. No refund. Just, be on your way: the app is third party, call them. Best of luck. Sure. I'll park here and go across the street for a proper institution like In n Out until Sonic goes under. Hopefully that happens soon, so a better company can take over their location. Edit after (surprisingly quick) CS damage control response here on Yelp: 6days and 3 phone calls later, still no refund. My only recourse is to place a hold on the charge, which seems ridiculous as it was like $5, and I'd have been perfectly happy with a different drink the day of. we waited 45 minutes in a stall for our TWO DRINKS that should have taken ideally less than i don't know 20 minutes?? granted there were a lot of people, but people who arrived after us WITH MEALS were being helped and not us. additionally, our screen displayed LUPE IS ON HER WAY. girl lupe was no where to be seen for 30 minutes. we pressed our button as our screen had reset to ensure we were not forgotten about, when we had asked if our order had gotten bumped on accident, some girl answered in a very rude and condescending tone that "there are other people and we need to wait our turn". not once did they ask what our order was or answer my question. she said that and 20 minutes later after waiting in the stall and no drink we left. suck it sonic. never in my life have i had a sonic experience like this one. we wanted two drinks. i come twice a week. cannot believe i was treated like this. read more

This place is the worst sonic I think I've ever been to. It's a shame too because it's right next to campus and I often crave Sonics delicious drinks. I worked at a sonic in Tennessee for 6 years and have been a regular customer ever since. Once I moved out west my expectations have just never been met. They will often scan out orders and the screen will say it's on the way out but it's another 6-10 minutes before a carhop actually arrives. Meaning they are just trying to keep a dishonest curb time to make it look like they are performing well. It's a shame. I'm from an environment where all drinks should be out in under two minutes and all food and drink orders in under 4 and yet here we are, I have never had an order here take less than 15 minutes and that's being generous. 7/10 times when I order food it also comes out incorrectly.
